On a recent work trip I stumbled into Archie and Clyde's since they were conveniently located close to my hotel. They are an all ages establishment with an over 21 only bar area. I love sitting at the bar rail, and their rail can sit at least 30 people, nice and big! The bartenders are very friendly and the service was excellent! My go to item was their large thin crust pizza. It's always excellently cooked and crispy edges! Next time I'm in the area for work, I'll be sure to stop by for more delicious pizza and cold beer! read more

the service is not at all what it used to be. my group and i (3 people total) were seated for almost 20 minutes before we even saw someone. if the restaurant was busy, i would've understood the wait, but we were one of 2 groups there. the food tasted like it had been sitting for a while. one of the members of our group got a salad with her meal, and the dressing she ordered smelled old and like it had been sitting for a while. the restaurant itself seemed clean, but the environment from most of the staff seemed hostile and uninviting. this place used to be a place where my whole family and i would come, but i would not recommend it now due to the change in it overall. i would love to keep coming back, but after our experience today, that isn't likely. read more

We ate last night from 5-6:30pm. Our dinner was ruined by a party with two 5 year olds screaming and yelling and running wild in the front room. The family made no attempts to control the kids. It has been over 2 yrs. since I have been here. A friend asked me to meet her for lunch on a weekday, and because Newburgh has so few restaurants....we decided to give this place a try - again. My friend ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with 2 sides. I love Ribs and decided to try their Friday special of 1/2 rack of ribs with 2 sides. It took at least 30 + mins. to get our food and our attentive waitress (an older lady) said it was because of the Grilled Chicken. I can't speak for the quality of my friend's lunch...but she was late getting back to work. I was pleasantly surprised by my Ribs. They were meaty, tender, and flavorful - but very messy. Why can't these places stand on the quality of their smoking/cooking skills and leave all the sauce off? The Mac'nCheese was rather dry and tasteless...would never order again. A huge soup bowl of mixed vegetables was my other side. It was your standard frozen mixture of cauliflower, broccoli, carrots....overcooked and mushy. I wholeheartedly agree with what some others have said about this place. It might be some people's idea of a homy/family style place, but it's also dirty (even our menus were stained) and needs a total make-over inside. As for the "patio" - why in the world would anyone what to set outside in the heat/humidity, breathing car fumes while watching people go into the grocery store....ludicrous! read more

Good food. Sweet potato fries are delicious, and there are several vegetarian options throughout the menu. They also have a diverse spectrum of flavors to choose from, ultimately leading to an amazing meal. Also very clean bathrooms! read more

We moved to Newburgh 2 years ago and we just discovered A&C. Honestly we didn't try it sooner because it appears to be a strip mall, casual, old fashioned and basic restaurant. We finally ordered a few weeks ago and we are hooked on the pizza. It's wonderful and is our favorite that we've had. The crust is so crispy! It's even good the next day in a microwave. Don't judge a book by its cover is the lesson I was reminded of once again. We like to get this as a treat at least every other week. read more

Love this place! My aunt and Uncle go a few times a week so I decided to tag along one night. The menu is extensive and has a lot of choices. The gyros are excellent, the sandwiches are great. Awesome pizza as well with a zingy sauce. I got the pot roast because I was in a down home mood that day and I was not disappointed. The pot roast came with two sides so I had to try the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Both were great, very tasty. I was pleased with the prices as well. I would definitely recommend going and sitting at the bar if you don't have kids. The bar staff is a lot of fun and very friendly. read more

I just wanted to give a huge praising of Archie and Clyde's. On Sunday March 11th, I had a large group of people celebrating my grandmother's 90th birthday. The room set aside for us was perfect for our group, but more so the service was impeccable! I did not get his name due to the amount of people in our group. Love to go here! Their salads are fantastic and huge! We had a large banquet group of cheerleaders here in October 2014 and had many guest filling an entire banquet room. Our service was flawless. For cheer our we travel in large groups together. Many times a group of 50 plus people can be a nightmare to dine with but this time that was not the case. They had our tables well staffed and the timing of the food was flawless. Because of varying arrival times we all received our food at different times but that was perfect because everyone enjoyed their meal hot. I knew this place was good for our family to enjoy dinner but I was very pleased to see the excellent service for a large group as well. Since our group had adults and children with us we had some picky eaters but their large menu took care of the pickiest eaters in our group. I highly recommend! read more

I admit we got there about 30 minutes before this place closed on a Friday night. When we walked in there was one employee talking on the phone and no one greeted us for several minutes. Eventually, we were seated at a booth. When the server took our drink order I asked for a beer that was listed on their menu only to be told "i don't think we have that anymore', i asked the server to check to be told again, "i think we stopped serving that". minutes later the server returns with the beer I asked for. After a few minutes, really a few-- as in two, our server was back to let us know they were getting ready to close the kitchen and he hated to rush us but we needed to order right then. I ordered the fettuccine with chicken and asked for sauteed spinach and broccoli to be added. My bf ordered the pork chop with german fries. His pork chop was by far the best part of our dining experience. It was about 1 1/2" cut and cooked just right. My pasta was the second worst thing I've ever been served, ever: the sauce was flavorless, the chicken was dry and had little flavor, the spinach was from a can and the broccoli looked and tasted as though it had been sitting on a salad bar for hours. When the server dropped off the check he asked if I wanted a box for pasta, which was sitting on my plate untouched. i told him no and he asked if something was wrong, I explained the lack of flavor and general awfulness of the entree... he then tried to explain how every place makes alfredo sauce differently. I'd also like to include how our server used the time we were looking over the menu to talk badly about a nearby competitor about how horrible the service was to the point where "people usually leave there and come here because we're more family-like." I have eaten here several times since I live 3 miles away. While the food has always been good the service is not. Infact I was just in there yesterday and sat for at least 15 minutes and no one came to even take a drink order. It was after the lunch rush so it was not busy at all. Ordered gyro and Cuban panini. Gyro was 'ok'. Cuban was bland. Will not go back. This was on Thu @ 5pm, and not many people there.

Placed order online after waiting over an hour told " they didn't process you order." No apology or effort to make it right except "you can keep the drink". What awful service, we won't patronize again. read more

Was excited to try a local joint and saw this conveniently located next to the schnuck's we shop at. Unfortunately the cheeseburger was no better than a Burger King burger - my wife mentioned that it lacked seasoning and found it unmemorable. I had an Itaian Beef which I was excited about because I'm a Chicago guy and there aren't too lany decent options around Evansville for Italian Beef other than Cleaver's. The bread was decent, and while they had the essence of the flavor correct, the meat seemed like roast beef deli meat they bought at Schnuck's next door- and the lack of full green peppers was unfortunate- also there was no option to have the sandwich served wet- an utter disappointment. On the plus side they have a functional app you can use, and the food is cheap. But due to the poor quality we will not likely come back unless they make significant upgrades in quality. I would pay more for better food if it stood out or was unique, unfortunately this joint failed in both categories. My recommendation would be to simplify the menu and do fewer things with excellence (yes I stole this from Gordon Ramsey's restaurant renovation show)- that seems to be a blueprint for successful restaurants. Truly am sad that this was such a disappointment... Evansville needs more local joints doing good food. read more

My wife and I love Archie and Clyde's and the food has been great, but last Sunday we got the first food item they should remove from the menu. The Cuban panini had no taste and the pork was very dry. I still give it four stars because the catfish, pizza, country-fried steak and fajita wrap are still excellent. read more
