Nice ambience, service was great, waitress was super attentive. My friend didn't like the grilled corvina & they offered her the option to change it for another option, no additional charge. She ended up switching to the vegetarian poblano chile, which she ended up really liking. I enjoyed the grilled corvina. You get a subtle smoky flavor. The sweet potato was good. I wasn't too crazy about the sauce. Overall, a good dish. Would get that again. Also shared the yuca mash. Creamy & buttery, big portion. That was good as well. We shared the dessert. Wouldn't really recommend that one. There was nothing special about it. The lemon curd didn't make sense with the chocolate ice cream. Couldn't really taste the chile. My husband ordered the Peruvian chicken thigh dinner and I got the Arroz con Mariscos which is shrimp and jasmine rice. My FIL has been talking about this place for a long time. We finally had a chance to visit for dinner. The food was good, though there was some kind of a cheesy vegetable dish that I wouldn't order again. It wasn't bad. Just not as flavorful as I would've hoped. We split a quinoa salad, which was tasty. I got the pork shoulder-- conchita pibil or something like that-- and a side of black beans and both were delicious. Our server was doing double duty as a bartender, too and did a great job. The owner went from table to table, checking in. It was so nice that he was so invested. Not some corporate restaurant. My wife, daughter and I had an incredible experience here. First, owner Randy was pouring water, greeting guests, and sharing inspiration for some of the dishes. When he mentioned the chef was trained in Lima, Peru, we were excited. Very knowledgeable, very kind. Second, great cocktail selection. I had the "rum old-fashioned"...unreal. Dark, rich rum, hints of sweetness. Third, the food is a chef-forward selection of dishes from the Americas. Appetizers: arepas and ceviche for appetizers. Main: ribeye and arroz con camarones. The service is great, the food was even better. I had the Fuego burger, which reminded me of a Fuego burger that I had in Brazil. It was the best burger I've ever had and I didn't have to go to Brazil to get it. My daughter had the Picanna and loved it. read more

Amazing food and service! I had the Cantarito drink and the grapefruit Jarritos in it was so good. We shared the Arapas for an appetizer and the Ribeye with roasted veggies. Food is amazing got the Meat plate for 2. It had prime ribeye, Picanha , and two types of sausage. The hibiscus taco appetizer was great as well and so was the dessert. Been here twice now and this place is legit! Everything we tried was next level. Don't miss out trying the Cantorito...their version of a super tasty grapefruit (margarita?) in a clay cup with a spicy Tajin-like rim. We have had the ropa vieja, ribeye steak with awesome potato croquettes, lamb chops that were SO GOOD, and sea bass. The chocolate mole torte and mango mouse for desert were both superb. Everything has a unique flair in a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. This is a place unlike any other in the area. Service is top notch too. Can't rave enough. The only problem is that soon it's probably gonna need to expand once everyone catches on to how great it is. read more

Restaurant review: Sazón y Fuego in Newburgh. A Latin American restaurant. The owner of this restaurant also owns Pangea Kitchen and 2nd Language which are both excellent restaurants. This was mine and Jim's 3rd time here. We took friends with us this time. 2 other couples who had never been there. Each couple got a different appetizer. We got the Empenadas filled with beef and served with an avocado crema dipping sauce. these were so good with such good flavor the dough was so light. the other couples ordered The Arepas filled with chicken and avocado and the chicharonne tacos. both which were excellent. Our entrees were, for me it was the chicharonne tacos even though they are an appetizer I love these so much order them for my meal. Handmade corn tortillas, with thinly slivered red onions and chunks of crispy fried pork belly along with a chirmol sauce and avocado crema sauce. These are to die for. My husband ordered the new York strip with potato croquettes. The steak was tender and flavorful and comes with a chimichuri sauce. potato croquettes that are fried balls of potato that are filled with cheese. The other couples ordered the lamb, the Peruvian chicken, the chili releno, and Ribeye. everyone loved their entrees. cooked perfectly excellent flavor. Dessert was the passion fruit mouse with almond Tuile. I promise you have never had dessert like this in Evansville. it's excellent. Chocolate mole torte was the 2nd dessert ordered and if you are a fan of chocolate you will love it. The service was excellent. Our drinks were never empty and our waitress was great and attentive. The Manager stopped at our table and asked how things were. On a previous visit THE OWNER of the restaurant was helping clear tables and refill drinks. Please for the love of God stop packing the house of chain restaurants and support your local restaurant owners. The Quality of the food is 100 times better than you find at chain restaurants. Unfortunately no photos of the food as we were all hungry and started digging in. Do yourself a favor and go enjoy some really good food!!! This restaurant is definitely on our rotation of excellent local restaurants in the tristate. read more
