We came here for a friend's surprise birthday brunch over the weekend and were not disappointed! We have seen this place but have never tried it and we are so glad we got the chance. They have a nice selection of latin foods for brunch, as well as salads, pastries and omelettes for the more traditional brunch, and chicken strips and French fries for the kids. We didnt have high expectations since it was for a mid week salsa spot, however, to our dismay this place ended being fun s the crowd was not too old and very nicely laid - out. Came here last Friday after 10pm and was quite impressed! I've heard mixed reviews about this place and decided to check it out. The bouncers were real nice. There is no cover charge. It was an older respectful crowd. Didn't have to deal with disrespectful childish men that get all "grabby" and can't take no for answer. That being said, it's a great spot to come with your girlfriends. There was a variety of music, but if you're looking to shuffle this is not the place for you. A couple of friends and I made reservations here for Sunday brunch. One of my friends got there before we did. When we walked in there was no one to greet us at the front door. My friend that got there early had to wave us down so we could even know where to go. We sat down and no one came by for 20 minutes!!!! We were sitting there starving with no one coming by for 20 minutes!!! The food is okay and ambience Is fine but food is mediocre. Plus, you literally have to flag someone down to get your Mimosa glass filled. They're trying but their service has to jump a million times!! I loved this place!! Took my parents here for an early anniversary dinner, so the focus was entirely on the food and drinks. The sangria is fruity and light...perfect for a warm December afternoon. The food was really fantastic!! My only reason for not giving it a 5th star was because of the chimchurri sauce. Although it is really flavorful I found my Chicken la Plancha swimming in it. Great live band, great dj and a lot of energy. The vodka crans are poured strong, just the way I like them. Everytime someone spilled a drink, the security would clean it up immediately. My first visit to this restaurant/bar/lounge, and I had a wonderful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was amazed at how cool and hip the place looked. Very lounge-y, chic, classy, and eclectic. Drinks were well done and reasonable for a night out. I especially enjoyed the band, Derumbamenco, which played rumba, Gipsy King style music. I went one time with my besties and we had a lot of fun. The music was great. They played 80s, 90s, salsa and today's music. Their drinks were good too. It got a bit too crowded after awhile but it was fun. The security guards are friendly unlike rude dogs. The front of my piercing came off from my lip for going hard on dancing but one of the security guards went and got me a piece of garnish to hold it in place which was really nice of him. The guys are very aggressive when it comes to dancing. I have a boyfriend so out of respect I don't dance with any man so when I told two guys no but they couldn't take the hint. I went here last Friday for Happy Hour, which I enjoyed!! Surprisingly it lasted till 7PM on a Friday!! I really enjoyed the ambiance early evening before the night began. I sat bar top, asked about their Happy Hour drink specials. They had $5 Mojitos, (which had 2 shots of Bacardi, good deal) $5 Sangrias, and $5 for their well drinks. What surprised me, was that the appetizers weren't included for happy hour prices. I was able to converse with the bar tenders, who were very attentive to any refills and what not, needed. I let him know that I wasn't a big fan of mojitos, but I'd thought to try it. He saw the expression on my face, didn't enjoy it much. So I tried the sangria, which was real sweet and had fresh fruits soaked in. The bartender asked me, if he can make me a drink, so he made a really good one!! I was well satisfied!! I didn't have their food, but my friend had got the chicken salad, which was a good enough portion for one person. It was well presented and I was told it was really good. I'm sure there's no doubt in that. I'm sure it had a good cuban taste to it!! It's very neat and clean inside, especially if you're planning to go for happy hour or an early dinner. They set up a great place setting, whether you're at a table or at the bar top. Unfortunately, I didn't stay long enough to hear the salsa band play or for the night to begin, I'm sure it was fun. Music is great. They lost my ID and credit card, and they over charged me. Had different charges I had to call the bank to get them off my account. It also happened to 2 of my other friends. They way over charge one of them and they went back and showed the server on camera just adding things to there order. If you really want to go I really recommend to take cash. Wanted to thank Nancy for a great experience i had my Bday at 3vinos this past saturday NOV 18th and even tho we had to waited for the band to finish playing and get my lounge area together she was amazing! She started by explaining how the vip area works and the contract then started getting drink orders for my guest and brought them their drinks while we waited which kept my family and friend enjoying the band . Then even tho she was super busy with other tables she kept checking up on us make sure we were doing good and needed drinks and the staff helping her was just great they kept my area going with anything and everything we needed from cleaning after us to making sure everything and anything we needed. I was so excited when 3 Vino's was about to open. We do not have many Caribbean Style eateries in Covina/West Covina. My husband and I usually travel to Glendale, Burbank, Versails or Downey for some good Cuban food. I visited 3 Vino's about 3 weeks after opening. I wanted to wait for them to work the kinks out. The food was really good but a bit overpriced. Downtown Covina is just not Pasadena, Burbank, or any other very trendy high caliber food area. We had the Sangria and it was good. Not exceptional but ok! It was overpriced as well. I really think they would get better reviews and more customers if they had more realistic prices. The service was absolutely terrible. Now, I don't know if it was because they are new or they just hired in-experienced people. The food took way to long to arrive. We waited about 45 minutes for our food. I suppose we should have gotten a clue when we waited about 20 minutes to order. We did not even get bread until we asked. The wait staff is not "Johnny on Spot" type of staff. If a customer is paying these prices one expects excellent service. When we visit places like Ruth's Chriss we don't mind paying the $40 for a steak because it is delicious, served timely, and the service is OUTSTANDING.. I would recommend that the staff and owners visit places like these to get an idea of what upscale service and food is. In addition places like Versailles have excellent food at reasonable prices and again service that is fast, friendly, and the type of wait staff that knows what you need or want before you ask. I have not returned to 3 Vino's but was willing to give them another try. I was about to make reservations for my February birthday. I decided to check on Yelp to see if they were doing any better. Unfortunately, it looks like they are still experiencing growing pains. I hope they concede to customers needs soon because they are a beautiful restaurant and we so need something like them in Covina. read more

Please do not go here. They are homophobic. My friends decided to take a seat on an empty couch because they were tired from a long night. A couple the proceeds to sit on top of them because they claim that was there seat. After being disrespected in that manner the guy also throws a drink at them. Understandably my friend was upset and pushed him off. They then went to complain and said he was punched and the security guard did not even take the time to ask about the situation. From the outside, the place looks very classy....but once you go inside it's like sardines (one area is for reservations and the other for general). Very small...no place to sit at all unless you have VIP and if you dance, it's dance in place lol. Many couples sit at the bar and leave their drinks as placeholders to get up and dance. Makes ordering drinks very difficult. I could still make the beat out of the night, even if the place was small, but the music was wacked!! They played 50's/60's cumbia with videos...and gasolina is way too old...there are so many good raggaeton songs out there...not a single track from J Balvin or Maluma?! Review is for Wednesday salsa night at 8pm. No cover charge, free Salsa class from 8pm-9pm, instructor is cool, good turn out and ratio of women to men. The only minor drawbacks are the relatively small dance floor so it can get tight, the salsa class sometimes has the lady turning on count 1 (I'm used to ladies turning on 6 for inside or 5 for outside turns for LA On1 style) and the $1 taco lady doesn't give you change back and keeps it for self tip. Updated: 4.5 stars for Monday free cover and free Bachata class with the fun couple Jo Quinones and Vince Torres. It's not too crowded like Wednesday so you actually have room to dance to a mix of Bachata, Salsa, etc. read more
