This is a great restaurant for lunch and a great addition to our Downtown Covina area. It has been here for a couple years and I go from time to time for lunch but its the live music and the nigfht time atmosphere that I like best. It is definitely not the downtown Nightclub scene but more of an upscale smaller more intimate style with Latin Music and a full bar. I think its a great place for a date night in Covina. read more

Went for Mother's Day brunch. The brunch was not impressive and food options were slim. Super small place and they try to squeeze the food everywhere possible. Band was good. However, the service was horrible. We had to constantly keep asking for the same items(s) several times since no one would bring it. What a dump, I had heard it was a cougar bar but, when invited to go see Sangria play had to go. Definitely, an odd crowd of people. The drinks were watered down and the bathrooms disgusting. Call me strange but, i always think if the bathroom is gross the kitchen is probably worse! Have been to 3 Vinos several times before over the years and it never disappointed. What happened? New Management? It was 6pm on a Sunday evening and no dinner available. Just a mediocre buffet. Despite informing the hostess we were there just for dinner, she insisted that we pay a cover charge, and yet failed to let us know that there was no regular sit down dinners available! I remember 3 Vinos being a nice, classy place where you could enjoy delicious food and great entertainment. It seems like the owner and management decided to just turn it into just another crappy salsero club. I noticed there was not even a dress code any longer. What a shame. read more

Fuck this fuckin place and the douche nozzle bartender who, when I asked for water gave me a $3.00 bottled water and said they don't serve tap water. Isn't that against the law? I was SO excited about going to this establishment. My girlfiriend lives in San Dimas and I in Glendale so it was a perfect half way meeting point. When I walked in, I was so impressed by the decor of the place, being that my brother is the president of a corporation that owns MANY Hollywood clubs so I've been to more than a few. My delight was short lived..as one of the bouncers reacted immaturely because I displayed a lack of interest in him. He looked as dumb as he was, and when he disrespected me, I told him straight out how I felt. Again,t his was ONLY after I he completely disrespected me in front of other people. I am a classy woman who has total control of myself whenever I am out, and for someone at his level to speak to me in the tone and manner that he did is not acceptable. At the end of the day, I am a customer, and a good one at that. I must have dropped a Franklin in the short 30 minutes I was there, and a big percentage of it on tips.. If you are an above average looking girl, prepare to get attitude from the inadequate staff. I mean, really, the only time men like that get to have power over girls like me is this situation..when they are employees making $10 bucks an hour. This place is a joke. The security is a joke, the service is a joke and the management is a joke. We get seated outside because there was no wait, not a problem. It takes about 15 minutes before anyone comes over, annoying but I can live with it. We order their specialty, sangria($10 a glass), which pretty much tasted like Lambrusco, which is like $5 at Albertsons. Pretty upsetting but we got over it. We ordered their Paella for 2, which we're told by out waitress is extremely good. About 20 minutes goes by and we are about done with our drinks and our waitress is no where to be found. We are a little upset but she comes by 5 minutes later to let us know she's sorry that the food is taking so long, but it should be out soon. Also she never asks us for any other drinks. About 25 minutes goes by and again she is no where to be found. We have been chatting away with the couple next to us about how bad the service was there. She comes back, empty handed and we are furious. We tell here that we are leaving in 5 minutes. So in 5 minutes she comes back with two separate orders of Paella(we ordered the Paella for 2 and we were told it would come in one big plate) and the owner. I ask him whats up with the service and he sheepishly says that it usually takes longer to get food to the outside. So I ask him why we were not told this by the hostess and then he goes on to contradict himself by saying there really is no difference between the inside or out. So by this time we are starving so we just say whatever and take the food. I take one bit and it taste like crappy rice with over cooked rubbery meat. I have had some extraordinary Paellas and this is just a disgrace. So I told the incompetent waitress we weren't going to eat this nasty food and we just left. The first thing I have to say is watch your step! As I was walking into the dining area there is a slight upwards slope that will knock you off of your feet. After tripping on this I made it safely to our table. . We were seated quickly and basically that's where the good service ended. We ordered off of the lunch special menu. I had the Rio Steak Salad which was very good. My friends dish was so-so according to her. I would love to tell you that I enjoyed a beautiful glass of Shiraz with my salad but sadly I cannot. We both ordered a glass of wine and 30 minutes into our meal we were told there was no one there with the key who can serve the wine. The manager and chef were both there. Still we couldn't have any wine. Once they were able to accommodate our request we had already finished lunch. We were offered a "taste" of the wine for our troubles but passed. Then came the bill. We ordered off of the "lunch special" menu but were charged full price. We were over charged by $11.00. The bill was corrected and we were on our way. I want to stress that I do not offer this review as put down but a place to grow from. Only 3 stars? Yelpers totally got this wrong! I was here last Friday and had so much fun!! Reservation for dinner (on Fridays and Saturdays) is a must. Otherwise, you will be turned away. It was my first time here and was told the restaurant turns into club after 10pm so I did not have high hopes for the quality of the food. But guess what? Everything I tried were all really good. 3 Vinos offers fusion of Cuban, Spanish and anything in between. I saw Paella Valencia on their menu which piqued my interest but ultimately, I decided on Zarzuela De Mariscos or Spanish Seafood Stew. The dish consisted of baby lobster tails, shrimps, mussels, clams, squid, scallops, fresh fish chunks, in a spicy tomato garlic herb sauce. The menu did not indicate that the dish would be spicy so I was very surprised by the heat but it was not spicy to the point where you cannot taste the other flavors, just enough to make me sweat in inappropriate places. The seafood was cooked perfectly, the ingredients so fresh that it tasted sweet. Not sugary sweet but the sweetness you taste from shun ingredient (the peak of seasonal ingredients). I was definitely impressed with my dish but when I tried my date's entrée Camarones a la Plancha, I thought I died and had gone to lemony, buttery, garlicky heaven. Yes, I'm exaggerating a bit but it was very very good. Their menu describes it as Butterfly jumbo shrimp seasoned and grilled to perfection and topped with lemon garlic butter sauce. The dish is packed with substantial lemon flavor and went well with rice and fried plantains. After the meal, our server set up a corner table for my party of six people near the DJ booth. Normally all the tables get cleared away but we just ordered a bottle of Dom Pérignon so they made exception for us. The music the DJ was playing wasn't very exciting but I thought it was neat how he synced the music he was playing and the music video playing on huge plasma TVs. Per my date, it was very classy. Got bottle service with large group of friends and this would be my third time doing so. It was packed since it was on Friday, Cinco De Mayo, but only made it more fun. Our waitress Nancy was the best. This would be my third time having her as our server for our bottle service. She's very good at making sure that we have all our drinks and checks up on all of us frequently. My friends and I all appreciated it, knowing how busy it was there night. From the start of making a reservation I got the run around and major attitude. They use an answering service in which you have to play phone tag. The reservation was made a week in advance. I was not able to confirm with a live person, Christina, until the day of my party. I reserved a 10 seater with bottle service to watch a friends band, Bongo Funk, this was the only reason for being there. When we arrived we were showed our section. Not what I was promised. Christina clearly suggested the middle section because the smaller space was high traffic and much smaller for our 10 people. I informed the hostess of this and she called Christina and switched us to the larger section. Turns out we were double booked. We had to move, because of the other party. The smaller space would not fit our guests so we were going to leave. They did offer to refund my $180.00 that I had to pay to reserve the table and comp our drinks, $90.00. We had a birthday girl with us and this totally ruined our night. Our friends were playing in the band as I mention before, Bongo Funk, which were amazing but we missed out on the show due to 3 Vinos lack of professionalism and rude behavior from the beginning. I got a call today that they were only refunding the difference of our drinks and the $180. They have no manager on duty and I would not recommend this place to anyone. It was a nightmare night. Thanks 3 Vinos. I better get my refund. To top it off they advertise the place as "fine dinning". Why is there duct tape all over the seats to cover up tears. I haven't the slightest clue what he used to make it. This drink tasted like oil or even vegetable oil. I didn't know how he charged me $15 dollars for it. I didn't attempt to get s different drink. If I were a bartender and I didn't know how to make a certain drink, I'd at least tell folks I'm out of Grand Marnier for the moment . If you want to go out to dinner on a Friday or Saturday night, this is not the place. This has got to be one of the Worst establishments I have ever encountered going to. First off I uber to the place and i'm wearing a nice looking turtleneck Jacket shirt. Bouncer says I can't go in . no Flannels period. i had an undershirt which was fine but the Security guard said i had to leave my flannel outside.. ? outside ? Also the dance floor was small as well. The other thing is that there are not a lot of places to sit. If you want to sit down the only place is the bar area and get there early. Well lets see how to start the night. i have heard great things about this place from quite a few people i know (mostly girls). So when i got invited on a night out i was all for it. i wore a nice brown v neck t shirt jeans and new black vans with a white lip. We show up and the bouncers (there were like 6 of them) start staring me down. literally looking and me then tilting their heads down and back up to get the whole image before i get approached by one of them stating "hey man we got a dress code and with those shoes we cant let you in." Mind you i had no idea they had a dress code. So my friend talks them into letting me go in. The agreement 'we must eat dinner" i was like that's fine its kinda late but OK. It was 9:25. we sit down and order food and notice a sign on the table "ALL TABLES WILL BE CLEARED OUT AT 10:15" sure enough because we had to order food we also had to be done with our meals by 10:15. The whole time we are eating people are walking around with flashlights looking for people with shoes that they find unacceptable. Because they have so many bouncers i was approached every 3 Min's getting a whole lecture on my shoes and how i was going to be escorted out of the building at 10 because of them. Eventually my friend spoke to one of the bouncers about the shoes and he said "If you paid for a meal we can let you borrow LOANER SHOES IN THE BACK" Just like a bowling alley they have a pile of crappy as dress shoes in the back that you can borrow. All they want you to do is leave your shoes and your ID. i was like OK fine whatever. so 10:15 rolls around and they start picking up our plates even though we weren't finished. so we were a bit upset but whatever we wanted to enjoy the salsa dance music. as soon as we hit the dance floor they switch the music to MC hammer remixes and salt and pepper. come on do you really need DRESS SHOES to dance to MC hammer? so later on that night i find out... You will get kicked out by a nasty Nancy(one of the waitresses) for looking, touching sitting or even thinking about sitting in the wrong place because she is on her rag. Sorry to say food was cooked at a 4 star rate but over salted to the point where you can't finish your food. Went to 3vinos this past sat& arrived around 10:30. The line was ridiculous we waited for an hour to get inside when the place was half empty inside. I swear Ive never waited that long to get into a bar before. By the time I got inside my feet were already hurting so i didn't even wanna dance anymore! Make sure to get on the guest list so you can get in faster. There is no cover charge which is a plus because i would've been very upset if we had to pay&wait an hour to get inside. The decor is nice&the bartenders are pretty fast on getting your drinks. The music is really good! They mostly play every type of genre. A much OLDER crowd! HORRIBLE!! Can't give you too much information about the place since I never got in. Last night it was my Birthday and I heard good stuff about this place. No cover, great music..too bad I didn't enjoy any of it. I got there exactly at 10:00pm and the bouncer stops us and says we have to wait until they clear the restaurant tables to let us in. Mind you it was raining outside and freezing. 15 minutes passes by. The line is getting longer and more of my friends are in line waiting. 30 minutes. 1 hour. The bouncer keeps apologizing saying "I can't let anyone in until the manager tells me okay". Note: I am at the front of the line they have not let anyone in from the line unless you have bottle service or know the manager. 1 hour and 30 minutes pass by. I ask the bouncer "Can't you just freakin tell us we are not getting in so we can leave." He has no clue about anything". Finally I ask to talk to the manager. The manager is busy letting his people from the side in and people that say they are with people with bottle service. I finally approach the manager "It's my birthday and Ive been waiting 1 hour and half just tell me that you're not letting people in so we can leave." He's like how many people are you with? I said alot since my friends have all been in line waiting. He's like sorry only the people who are with you in line. Finally, for the sake of my friends who have been waiting in line I LEFT. About 20 of us got out of line and went to Rude Dogs down the street and had a much better time. In Summary: if you get there once it's crowded, you are not getting in. They don't just have a bunch of mediocre stuff they have a variety smaller than a large chain brunch but everything's executed very well! Best inlet I ever had at a brunch! Cooked to perfection.
