It was done quickly and efficiently, but as I was waiting to get the new tire installed, I was told my rear brake pads and rotors were 85 percent worn and they could replace them also. The cost would be an additional $400+, but I was offered a "deal" at $350 (red flag!) if I agreed to the additional work along with the new tire. Based on my last experience here when I purchased four new tires, I was also given a list of recommendations for other repairs. (See review below.) I took those recommendations to my trusted mechanic shop the following week and found out half of these items were not needed or could be replaced in the future at a more reasonable price. Accordingly, I set up an appointment with Riker Automotive down the street to get a second opinion on the brake pads and rotors. I was told the pads and rotors were at a "4" based on a red/yellow/green chart, which means the items should be replaced "soon" (within 3 months or so), but it was NOT critical now. Riker charged me $0 for the inspection! Not sure if this push by Action Gator Tire to get additional business is due to the Mavis company taking over Action Gate Tire. (They plan to change their outside sign to reflect Mavis' ownership I was told). Either way, this location lost my business completely and I will only take my vehicle to Riker Automotive and Tire in the future.

Count me in as one of the 5-star reviewers for this business. I noticed my car's A/C was not…read morerunning properly so I looked for A/C service options in my neighborhood. Based on the three 5-star reviews for Edgewood Service and Tires, I decided to check them out since they were less than a mile from my house. I found the Manager, Alex, is a great person to work with on your car's needs as he is a professional and gives you an honest assessment. I went in on a Tuesday morning and asked Alex his availability. As luck would have it, Alex said he could get to it that afternoon. I then explained my situation. Alex said the A/C check would be $49.99 and an inspection report would be sent to me via email for further discussion. (I left my car there). I also asked the price of a full synthetic oil change and found it was comparable to Valvoline's 15-minute oil change. I told Alex I had a discount coupon for Valvoline so I would get the oil change done there. Alex said he would meet Valvoline's price, so I added that to my service. Later that afternoon, I received the inspection report with the technician's findings. It came with a picture and the areas documenting the A/C hose leaks. I called Alex up; he quoted me a reasonable price of $500 to remove and replace the A/C refrigerant suction line and hose, plus the addition of freon. I agreed to the repair and my car was ready by 4pm that day. My A/C was back to prime condition. What a difference a fully functioning car's A/C can be in the Florida heat! I am definitely a satisfied customer and highly recommend Edgewood Service a & Tires for your automotive needs. FINAL NOTE: I would be careful placing any reliance on the one-star reviews below. I asked Alex about these reviews. This auto shop does NOT rent vehicles. Turo is a separate business. Turo pays Edgewood Service and Tires to store their fleet of vehicles on the back of the property. My advice-rely on the 5-star reviews that actually had car repair work done here.
