BEST BYOB KARAOKE PLACE IN NYC! My friends and I made this our go-to karaoke spot, and have been at least 5 times since we first discovered it. They have almost every song you could ever want to sing (except Remix to Ignition), and always let you extend your reservation if you're having too much fun to leave, which was always the case. We would reserve two hours usually, and stay for 3. They have free lollipops on your way out, and free water bottles so you can stay hydrated for wherever the night takes you next! read more

I really like this location. The place was a little difficult to find but we found it. The elevator is extremely small. Max 3 people for the average size human being. If you're claustrophobic then you might want to take the stairs because it feels tight. Anywho, there's lots of lights. Also in the room there's a corkscrew opener if you decide to bring your own drinks. So cool that this is allowed. There's free candy at the front desk and if you pay with cash you get 10% off your bill. Not bad if I say so myself. So yeah I will definitely come back. read more

Ended up here after spontaneously deciding to go to karaoke on valentine's day. We tried to go to the cheaper place across the street that was BYOB, but they were fully booked. They have a two drink minimum, so it was a bit pricey. Song selection is okay. They get bonus points for having an English remote control, and techno remix options. Really like this spot for karaoke, but it gets super busy, so make sure you snag reservations in advance. It's located in the building right next to H-Mart. There is an elevator that will get you up to the 6th floor, but the elevator is kind of small. I made the mistake of trying to take the stairs once; the stairwell is a little dark, and some floors have some obstacles in the way. Also, once I got up to the 6th floor, the door to 32 karaoke was locked, so I needed to band on the door and wait for someone to let me in.... so I would highly recommend to wait for the elevator. Once you get to the 6th floor, the lobby area is kind of small, so there isn't much room to wait around and there definitely is no public karaoke at this venue - bring on the private rooms. All the rooms are a great size and you'll get perfectly paired with a room fit for your party size. You get multiple microphones and tambourines - during my latest experience here for a party of 11 we had 4 microphones and 4 tambourines! Not to mention the best part: it's BYO, but hard alcohol is not welcome. I like they have books by artist and by song, but they also have their song catalogued on a website that you can search. I personally think it's much easier to use the website than the books, so kudos here. The Remotes are also aptly labeled so there is not much confusion when trying to figure out which button to press. The bathrooms are clean too, so you can go without having to worry about the toilet paper running out. 32 karaoke is a win! read more

The place is nice but we asked for two hours and got kicked out after 1 when it got too full because of the weekend. It was a birthday weekend so it really dampened the mood. UPDATE ON IDS! If you are not 21, you will not be let in. (My friend has said that everyone in the past was allowed in for not being 21 but i guess something had changed, so when her friends showed up, two were 21 and the other two weren't, but because they were their SO's they wouldn't come in because you can't leave people behind while you go in....at least if you're a decent human being) My friend just recently had her birthday festivities here and the whole experience was pretty bad; it was only her friends and mine that saved the whole night. Firstly, they wanted to charge us while we were in the room despite everyone not being there yet. If i hadn't inquired about this early on, we would've started to be charged for services we weren't using. So we waited outside. Then when we finally started, we had technical difficulties, the whole night. I was at two stars this far into the review but i'll give it three because everyone else in our surrounding rooms were having a grand old time so I guess we were just cursed. They did give us a discount in the end because why are we paying full price for half service but I don't think I'll come back here. Im suprised that this place has only been reviewed by two people~! I have been here twice, once for a birthday party and the other just because I was out with some friends. I do believe that the place is romanized 'ding dong deang' rather than dang.. That was the first thing that drew me to the place. The name is just so fun to say . If you can say that three times fast I give you props :] Compared to the other places on the street this one is quite average. The sound system could be a little more up to par but the rooms here are not that bad. One thing that facinated me with this place was how similar it was to places in korea. This place might just be the cheapest karaoke place in the city for all I know, because I have been here many times with large and small groups, and not once have I paid more than $20 per person for two hours of karaoke and some drinks. Very affordable ($8 per person per hour for 5 people +), clean bathrooms, friendly staff, BYOB and food, cups and ice provided, affordable drinks at the front, usage of WiFi, website to track songs/artists as well as the song books, spacious rooms, great sound, can't really hear music from other rooms unless your room door is open. The first time I went for my 21st b-day, now 4 years ago, the second time only a month ago for my bf's company X-mas party! I always try to make reservations ahead of time because we go with groups of around 15 and this place is always able to take care of us. We are able to change the number of people right up until we came in and were only charged for the number of people that showed up. They have a great song selection and you can use their website singsingmedia.com/search to easily check the number of the song you want. We never had to flip through a singe book. The good songs combined with the strange but fun painting and lighting make for a great night. The staff is really nice, and even offered to clean up our drinks after we left. It is BYOB though you can also buy beer there and they even gave us cups to use free of charge! Don't forget to take a blow pop on the way out. Came here based on good reviews of the service but was treated very poorly by the staff here. They attempted to overcharge us even though we already paid exactly what we owed. Felt very scammer ish. We were all having so much fun until this point and the mood was ruined by this mans rude attitude. Was initially planning to come back here and continue to give my money but will never again and will tell all my friends to never come here either. This is my favorite karaoke place ever! It's just perfect and everything you could possibly want in a karaoke venue: - large private rooms (because it's really only fun with friends and you never have to stop singing along) - disco lights EVERYWHERE - LOTS of songs including up-to-date hits, organized both by artist and by song title - BYOB and they'll even give you buckets of ice, cups, and clean up after you, but they also sell beer and wine if you don't plan ahead (FYI there is a Walgreens right around the corner that sells beer) - relatively lax rules as long as you're on time and respectful - we recently reserved their biggest room with an estimate of 20 people and definitely had at least 30-40 come through (which they of course counted and charged us for, and yes, it got too crowded at one point). - clean bathrooms - centralized location with easiest-ever address to remember (32 at 32 W. 32!) - free candy - open til 4am - large tables and couches on which you can dance and they never come in to yell at you to stop - they take the time to explain every charge on the bill so even when you're drunk you can feel like you aren't getting ripped off - it's upstairs from about 80 dumpling/Korean BBQ places Do keep track of your time because it can add up especially with a large group of people, and be smart and ask your friends for money before they all leave! Also tip them nicely, a) because they are really awesome and just let you make a complete fool of yourself for multiple hours without judging you*, and b) they will give you free bottles of water when you leave**. Yeah, the elevator is hilariously tiny (the "NO!!!! more than 5 people at a time" sign isn't kidding) and occasionally they do have the wrong lyrics programmed in ("I guess it rains down in Africa...") or bad cover band or synth versions of certain songs, but this is probably due 90% to copyright issues and only 10% to Engrish mistakes. Some of the songs have epicly funny music videos behind the lyrics. This is our favorite thing to do after seeing a concert with a big group of friends when nobody is ready to go home yet. Or for birthdays, Welcome Home parties, or just random Saturday nights. Maybe it's just our favorite late-night activity period. *at least not publicly. Awful place for karaoke! I came here on my birthday and boy was I disappointed. This place was no different than a whore house! Place was dark cramped and the room I got was messy and creepy looking. There was graffiti in the room and the floor was muddy and dirty. I was even worried that people had sex on the couches in the very room I was in. The place stunk of cigarettes. After reading positive reviews of this karaoke spot on yelp, my curiosity was peaked, so I invited a few close friends out on a rainy Monday night and only two of us got there on time. There was only one guy working at that time and the place was completely empty. He was laid back and very helpful and told us that it was ok for us to sit in the karaoke room to wait for our other friends instead of standing outside in the rain. We asked if it was ok if we can bring food in, because we were hungry, and he said yes. Our tardy friends called us to let us know they were a block away and we met them on the corner and grabbed some gyros from a street vendor, then came back. This place is a BYOF and BYOB! How bad-ass is that!? We finally went into the room and it was BIG! compared to our old karaoke spot in the L.E.S. The music selection was good and the mics worked perfectly. The rooms also have tambourines (which add to the good times.) They also have $3 beers/other cheap drinks and some snacks if you just feel like nibbling on something. The price? $7 bucks an hour and after the first hour they charge you by the minute which comes out to about $7 an hour if you estimate it. Good deal. I cant find any flaws, which is why I give this place 5 stars. Another reason to try this place out; they have 30% off coupons that you can use if you make a reservation for another time. We came here for a birthday party. Very friendly staff. The place is BYOB and They give you free ice and an ice bucket to keep your drinks cold which is really nice. They checked all of our IDs but I'm not sure if you can't do karaoke at all if you're under 21. The karaoke room and the bathroom were clean. The main reason I decided to come here this weekend was because you can book online!! Some reason I really liked having that option. I made a reservation for Saturday night the day before, and they were pretty booked already but managed to get a room for 2 hours. The staff was decent, and although the room was small, they had a lot more current songs than most karaoke places ive been too. Some negatives were: the mics kept turning off and were unusable at some points (even when we tried to have it fixed, the problem was never solved), and the song selecting process is kinda frustrating since you have to enter the number instead of a touch screen. But, the prices were cheap, they had an extensive Taylor Swift collection, plus the room was equipped with tambourines. I'd recommend this place, and would definitely come again. Found this place thanks to my fellow yelpers and I'm so glad I did. I went here to celebrate a bday and had a blast. What I loved most was the BYOB policy. They will provide you with ice, utensils and cups. You're also allowed to bring food. We had some delivered while we were there and the front desk sent them right over. The Karaoke system took a little time to get used to, but once you understand the gist of it, everything runs smoothly. The song list was endless. FYI: bring a list of songs you'd like to sing. Many great things to say about this place. Some drawbacks, but I would definitely go again. After a very stressful couple of weeks planning a karaoke party, this place was a Godsend. The per-head pricing makes it so much easier to plan a big event because your cost per head will not depend on how many people are coming. I originally reserved a room at another bar that was priced by the room and included drinks and food. I'm glad I switched, as several people dropped out last minute, and my guests would have had to pay a lot more to cover the cost. I saw Gagopa first, and made a reservation online. There wasn't any indication of availability, so I figured I should call them to confirm that a room was available at the end of the week. Unfortunately, I was unable to book something on the day and time that I wanted. I checked Yelp again and found 32 Karaoke which is owned by the VERY SAME PEOPLE! So if you need more reviews, check out Gagopa, as its the same experience. The man on the phone was very nice and accommodating. He confirmed my reservation and made me feel at ease with head counts and room sizes. They stress that you arrive ON TIME because they charge per hour. Even if you show up 15 minutes after, which is fair. I arrived a little early with some of my friends to get our wine and snacks set up. BYOB! (they check your bags briefly, and let you do whatever you want.) I only wish they would have better explained the system to us, as it was pretty much all in Korean. Once everyone arrived and we got to singing, it was a blast. I'm not sure about their room sizes, as we were shown privately to ours, but I ended up being GLAD that only 15 of the 30+ people I expected showed up. It was perfect for my party size, but anything more than that would have been cramped. We weren't bothered at all and the couches and equipment were great. The problems I had were that 1. we didn't know how to work the system at first, so I had to grab a guy from the front counter to help us. 2. A few times during out session, the remote would crap out. I think we wasted ten minutes or more trying to figure out the remotes or get them to work. They might need to have them replaced. We are being charged by the time so I wasn't happy about my friends having to sing a'capella while the guys were trying to fix the machine. 3. The bill was SO messy and difficult to read. I have NO idea how they itemized it. But it seemed accurate enough to trust. Even though I had a few people who came and went late and early. I'm still not sure if they were charged for the entire 3 hour time slot, just an hour? just two? I don't know how they accounted for those who arrived late at all. I ended up having to pay more than I should have. But I expected the payment to be a little disorganized with so many people and everyone giving cash. Overall, I had a great time. I think that the remotes not working were definitely a problem. But they were extremely gracious and tolerant about my friend who got sick and was slumped in the hallway. They gave us extra time in the room to sort out the money and were overall very easy and fair to work with. I'll definitely go again, probably with less people. OH! and I suggest they list the song numbers on their website alongside the titles. The online list makes it so easy to find songs and not waste time passing around the book. This place rocks! I had my 21st here with 20 of my closest friends and it was the most amazing night ever. They catered to everything we needed and were so helpful. I really like this place. We got a big group together for my sister's birthday and rented out their big room. It was $7 per person per hour. It is BYO, although they do sell wine/beer in case you run out. They supply cups, ice, etc - and even give you water on your way out. We brought some food in and also ordered pizza from a local place. 32 Karaoke made it all very easy. We sang our hearts out to a very comprehensive list of music and partied like rockstars for 3 hours. Lots of people have commented on the elevator - it is CRAZY SMALL. Whoa. For the last several years I've been doing my birthday karaoke at Gagopa around the corner, but this time they were booked for the night. With trepidation I looked around and booked this new place. They wanted a credit card deposit, but after a chat they were willing to just hold the card while we paid in cash, since there was a 15% discount for cash. They were well prepared when we walked in and had a nice selection of beers for those who didn't BYOB, and the room was large with 4 mics as opposed to the standard 2. They had every song we looked for and the cheesy korean videos offered plenty of amusement. With sickness, families and people getting older we didn't average the 30 or so I was expecting over 4 hours, but fortunately the place was also well organized in figuring out who was coming in and out and only charged us for that as opposed to the top flat fee. This is always a major issue given people coming in and out and forgetting to pay, so it was great to see that they handled things properly in that respect. I would definitely recommend this place for a bigger group when you aren't sure how many will actually make it. read more
