Chorus Karaoke charges absurd rates and minimums for karaoke. The place is honestly a fun vibe to get your karaoke on, but they require you to buy a drink package for 1 hour of karaoke. The cheapest package is $300. Additionally, we were told by staff that we can add additional hours for the hourly rate. After the first hour, they switched up all of a sudden and told us we needed to order 10 soju bottles ($20 each) for our party. They refused to respect their earlier comment about the additional hour. Would NOT recommend. Other spots are better and cheaper. read more

We had a reservation but still ended up waiting over an hour to be seated, which definitely started the night off on a sour note. We tried to make the most of it by dancing around the bar area, but the vibes were kind of thrown off by TVs showing workout videos--not exactly the party energy we were hoping for. Drinks were in the $13-$17 range, which felt a bit steep considering there weren't many specials or standout cocktails. The song selection was also outdated, which is disappointing for a karaoke spot in NYC where you'd expect more current options. That said, I will give credit where it's due--the staff was kind enough to comp my friend's birthday shot and gave us a bottle of champagne for the wait, which we appreciated. Still, one major red flag: one of the karaoke tracks included the N-word with a hard "-er." Completely unacceptable, tacky, and culturally insensitive. That moment alone was enough to make me uncomfortable and certain I wouldn't return. All in all, the good energy came from the people I was with--not the venue itself. I come here fairly with friends and family. On my latest visit, it was on a Friday night with a group of 6. It was $50 an hour per hour for a room and since it was the weekend after 8pm it was $20 per person per hour for drinks. We stood there for about 1hr and a half and then partied at the bar where they had a DJ. Its a great mix of karaoke bar and small party bar, which is why I keep coming. Their selection is pretty good but if you're trying to play recent songs they are a wee bit behind. The room was GREAT though and fairly easy to control and queue up songs. I enjoy it here, though be mindful on weekends cause it does get a bit expensive. read more

Easily grabbed a private room. There was no real wait. Picking songs was pretty easy. Their set up here is like a spot I used to frequent back home in SF. The remote was exactly the same. Just find your song in the book and punch the code. You can pick the save for later or play next to bump it up. While here, we ordered drinks and food. Beer, soju, fruit plate, and I believe some chicken wings. I never saw an itemized receipt, but I think we were here for a little over 2.5 hours and the total bill including tax, tip, etc, was $338.94. That's not horrible for a party of our size. I have a mix feeling about this place, especially about the service. While the location in prime K-town area and have a great ambiance, when it comes to both music and Karaoke, you will definitely be having a good time when it comes to dance your soul out. The lights and sound system are pretty good, and I like how distant the Karaoke Room are distant from the Dance floor, so people won't get annoyed by multiple sounds coming from everywhere. I would say it's pretty annoying after buying multiple drinks, I get 'warned' when getting an extra cup of water, I'm not supposed to do that. I guess they have a cup of water for one cup of alcohol, which is pretty stupid. They can just put one tank water on the side like every other bar. read more

My friends and I were at Itaewon Pocha for some drinks and food on a Thursday evening. As we were asking for the check, we received a coupon for 30 minutes free at Chorus Karaoke. We thought why not and checked it out. When we arrived at Chorus Karaoke located on the 3rd floor, we showed them our coupon and the staff told us we each would have to order a drink to redeem the offer. We were okay with that and the staff member showed us to our private spacious room that had two screens and two microphones. The staff member gave us an iPad and briefly explained to use that to look up songs via youtube. I kind of miss using the binders listing the songs and typing in the number, but the iPad did make it easier. Also, you can ask the staff at Chorus Karaoke to switch you over to the other system using the song numbers if you wish. We had such a great time that we paid for an extra 30 minutes ($20.00). I had the blue hawaiian cocktail ($16.00) which had malibu, blue curacao, and pineapple juice. It tasted good, but watered down. My friends had the malibu bay breeze ($16.00 each). Staff were friendly and quickly came whenever we used the call button. My friends and I haven't gone to karaoke in such a long time so this was a really nice treat. read more

Came here on the weekend nights solely for the bar area with a playing DJ. The crowd is very hit or miss, usually a miss. It's a good starting spot to start the night as the bar usually isn't very busy, but if you're looking to party, you're gonna have to go elsewhere. read more

This was very much the poorest experience I have had in a karaoke room, incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. We booked a large room in advance for a large party, and I confirmed this booking by phone multiple times before the event date. First of all, when arriving at their building, keep in mind that it may take you up to half an hour just to use the elevator to get up to their floor, due to there only being one small and slow elevator. Upon arriving at their floor, we asked to use their English system (as opposed to the international system), but were unable to find some common songs on the English system and asked to switch systems. They then switched us to YouTube, which we did not mind, apart from the fact that 50 songs were already queued on there and we had to delete each song by hand (wasting about 10min). About 30 min in, the host asked us to switch to a smaller room since they had a larger party that they needed to accommodate. It felt like extremely poor planning to place us in a room where they also double-booked another group at the same time, and subsequently asking us to change rooms in the middle of our booked hours when we had finally adjusted to the singing system. I asked for some compensation for the loss in singing time due to technical difficulties and changing rooms, and all they were able to offer was some bottles of alcohol (when we were already paying for an open bar), and an extra 30min in the room when we had already spent 40min troubleshooting. As a note, these 30 extra minutes also took us more painful negotiating, since we were originally only offered 10 extra minutes of singing for the 30min of technical difficulties we experienced. Additionally, upon switching rooms, there were once again, 50 songs automatically queued in YouTube, which had to be deleted manually, just like before and taking 10 more minutes of our singing time. It's completely understandable for them to be unable to accommodate the extra time, however it felt unreasonable to expect us to pay full price for a completely subpar experience. I had asked for some kind of discount, but this was repeatedly denied as they continually mentioned that their manager does not allow them to give discounts of any kind. I have gone to karaoke rooms that use YouTube as their singing system, but this spot had faulty iPads resulting in un-sensitive touchscreens, not allowing us to easily skip songs or maneuver the YouTube app. Overall, I completely do not recommend coming here. Although the staff tried their best to accommodate us by offering free alcohol and 30min of extra time, we did not feel that the mishaps at the beginning are worth coming here for. We ultimately tried to make the best with the time we had, and I'm grateful we were able to enjoy what we did receive, which was 15 bottles of Soju and two bottles of champagne along with 30min of extra time. However, this felt like it took a lot of negotiating and the inability to allow us to stay in a room that we booked ahead of time was incredibly unprofessional. We also had to squish 16 people into a much smaller room due to them overbooking their largest room. For these reasons, I cannot recommend coming here if you're looking for a relaxing and fun night. read more

They said we must purchase drinks or purchase an hour extra, as they took our coupon away from us. We asked them to explain because the coupon said nothing about this, or we wouldn't have taken the effort to show up. They then very rudely snarked at us and said there was nothing they could do. BAD SERVICE. I ignored the reviews but wish I hadn't. Had a quite negative experience at chorus Karaoke. First of all, they had a bad system with only a book of all the song titles as a way of choosing the next song, rather than having artists/ albums. They informed us of a significant drink minimum quite late into the interaction, forcing us to get drinks on the spot, and worst, when we had 10 minutes left, they repeatedly tried to take our remote away, when that was the only way to skip to the next song. Do not spend your money here, especially if you only want to stop by for 1 hour (since we had dinner reservations nearby). This place is overpriced and they do not manage the time correctly (paid a total of $183 for 1.5 hours). You pay a $30 gratuity for what!? The drinks are diluted and when you ask for help they take 10 minutes! The machine would not find any of our songs and after trying to figure it out, losing valuable time, they told us "oh sorry you're not supposed to press these buttons" -- we lost so much time! They could have mentioned that in the beginning. They also must start the clock ticking the second you're handing them your credit card for a room or we were cheated with the time. The server came by and my iPhone clock said we still had 10 minutes left to the hour, and he was saying it was already an hour. So we were forced to do 30 more minutes b/c he interrupted our song and we had to re-do it, and we also had not finished our drinks since it is a 2 drink minimum. How is a person supposed to consume two alcoholic drinks within an hour if they only want to sing for an hour? It's like you're forced to stay longer and spend. Their prices are way too high for what you get. $14 for a diluted vodka cranberry is not worth it. My friend had an extra shot on her drinks b/c they were so diluted that it made the price of her drinks $22 each (paying $22 for a drink at a karaoke bar is not worth it). There are plenty of other karaoke bars that are more price conscious and whom don't force you to consume alcohol at a rapid pace. Go elsewhere! read more

Scammed $300 out of us. It was $300 per bottle, and minimum one bottle per hour. We wanted 2 hours so ordered two bottles and asked for two hours. When we get into the room they set it to one hour, so we tried talking to the staff but they first tried to gaslight us that it was 1h the whole time, then changed the story that they could only give us one hour due to "capacity" (it was a Saturday night). This was my first karaoke outing and we had a blast! We didn't have a reservation and we were able to be seated immediately in a room. There was a 2 drink minimum per person but we circumvented that by purchasing a handle of Tito's tequila for 200$ which our host threw in free chasers and food along with it. Our host was really kind and did a lot to help us feel welcome. The drinks were great, the food was standard bar food, nothing exceptional, but we weren't there for the foods. Navigating the karaoke machine was really difficult for us. The primary language was Korean (?) and wielding the large keyboard was quite cumbersome without intimate knowledge about the written language. The music was standard off key karaoke music and some of the lyrics were off, but the variety of songs and wide breadth of the library made up some. Overall, a great time with friends. Because I don't have a baseline, I assume most karaoke places are like this one. I would come back with a group of friends for the experience. read more

Horrible service. Ruined our plans after coming all the way into Manhattan. I called more than 24 hours ahead of time to try to make a reservation for a group of people under 21, which the staff on the phone confirmed was okay. When my group arrived at 7:30, the staff at the front desk did not allow us in and said that no reservation was made, even though I had called the number on the website. They said that no one under 21 was allowed in after 7, even though we saw someone in another room celebrating someone's 18th birthday. Then, we were told no one under 21 was allowed in after 8, yet they refused to seat us at 7:30. Another friend that recommended the place was told no one under 21 was allowed in after 9. The staff has horrible communication and refused us service multiple times. There are no set rules here, and depending on who you're talking to, it's a gamble as to whether or not you'll be allowed in. read more

Initially asked for the Korean system, was met with judging glances, and was forced to the front desk to ask for the Korean system again. Fine, acceptable given their Ktown roots, people are known to be overly confident. Two requests seems passable. What furthermore bothers me is the lack of service beyond the front desk. Already having felt judged at the door for a passion of mine and a culture in which I actively enjoy and partake in... I felt pushed away actively. I was forced to go to the front desk twice even for a drink refill. When I was told our time is up I was denied despite it being an hour and ten minutes from close. Additionally I was given a different staff member upon asking for anything beyond (to which he was absolutely lovely, 10/10 recommend). After an hour of singing we requested a switch to the "English" system, met with equally as judging glances, sighs. No changes occurred other than a microphone swap (which was incorrect and had to go to the front desk to request the correct mics). This was all handled by a different staff member, despite speaking to Panmi. Unfortunately this experience left a very bad taste in my mouth, exacerbated by the fact that I was asked "Was something wrong" upon signing the bill, with zero additional tip on top of their mandatory 20% gratuities. No scene caused, left it alone. Buyer beware, you will be judged at face value. If you are an avid fan of Korean culture or regular patron, you will be judged at face value and metered. This is apparently not a place for Kpop fans or Korean culture enjoyers as a whole despite being an active hotspot. Loved this location, unfortunately it has fallen to poor staffing. read more

I am not sure why I am not crazy about this place but I am simply not. The service has been a turn off for the most part, the prices can get spendy for both the karaoke and the drinks, and the elevator has been broken a few times to where I had to walk up manually to the place (3rd floor). The bright side is that this place is spacious, clean, and relatively well decorated. I also enjoy the fact their music selection is mildly updated so that its not completely dependent on the Ziller system like many of the other KTown karaoke joints. I have been lead up here for a couple of parties and both times it turned out to be a billing nightmare. The private rooms were nice, but with "extra drinks" and "time issues" the staff wasn't accommodating enough to attempt to sort things out. This is even with one of their speakers blowing out in the room, which they didn't seem to care to replace at the time. Chorus is on the ball, always. Bartenders Younghwa, Karen, and Yoon are dreams in reality - I've been coming here long enough that shots are the norm. The communal area is still where you should be singing with friends and friends-you-haven't-met-yet. They've got a fully stocked bar, so you really shouldn't get bored unless you have weird tastes. The "manager" here (the one with long bangs) is an ASSHOLE. We were told the minimum spending was $10 per person + $50 but we ordered a bunch of drinks and food and were $4 away and ordered drinks 15minutes before. They cancelled our order just so we couldn't meet the minimum. They proceeded to "kicked us out" and ignored anything we said. No notice and HORRIBLE ATTITUDE. We came in a Friday night with a group of seven at midnight with no reservations, and thankfully only had to wait 20 min before a room opened up. The staff were nice and the space was large and clean, all in all a good atmosphere. The controllers are of course all Korean but with English labels on the key buttons. They had all the songs from the BTS Proof album but not more recent songs like Left and Right. :) (squad of Armys here haha). The pricing is more on the expensive side-- soju is $20/bottle, a fruit platter is $22, pizza is almost $20. The room price was $55/hr for 7 ppl but you have to order at least $10 or food or drink from the menu per person. I have been here a couple of times during late evenings with friends. This karaoke lounge is located one floor up from the players restaurant. One has to take the elevator to go upstairs. They have a really nice decor which gives a felling of steel walls. The main karaoke area is right by the bar and then they also have individual karaoke booths. I have met some really interesting people at the main karaoke lounge area. Surprisingly this place does get crowded on Sunday's evenings too so plan before hand. The staff at the bar was attentive and cool but felt they were disorganized when it came to Karaoke. FYI- Yelp check in gets you one free song ticket at the bar!! read more

There was a mandatory purchase of two alcoholic beverages per person in our party. The charge was pricier than most. The machine and using the system was in Korean, having just come back from a year in Korea I was familiar with it, but for non-Koreans and also my friends who didn't know how to use the system, they could've at least asked whether we needed it to be explained. We got the yogurt and the lychee soju both were great, but they definitely diluted it towards the end of our time there which wasn't appreciated. After a yummy Korean dinner we decided to end our night with an hour of Karaoke. Originally we tried Gagopa, but they were completely booked until 2am. So we wondered off to Chorus, and Im so glad we did. Boy did we luck out, a big group had just cancelled their reservation so one of the HUGE private rooms was given to us (party of 3). The room was immaculate, it was radiantly bright, spacious, extremely comfortable, most importantly the microphone and entire sound systems was very good quality. The song selection is also great, extensive enough to make everyone happy, modern songs, oldies and even my European boy bands (Westlife, Boyzone woot woot :) The charge is $40/ hr and two drinks per person minimum. We did not really want to drink, so to avoid ordering 6 cocktails we were told we could order two bottles of soju, we only ended up drinking half of one. (We were more in a singing kinda mood, then drinking lol) Overall I can't say enough nice things about this place and the staff, they were so accommodating, super friendly & so pleasant to us. It's cordial service like this, that makes patrons want to continue coming back. After our hour was up, the nice gentleman gave us a friendly reminder and even offered us ten extra minutes so that we can decide if we wanted to stay longer.
