For the two of us, we had two beers each and two tacos each. Tax, tip, out the door $80. Literally the worst tacos of my life. (To be clear, I ordered it. It's not like I was surprised by the check. The bill was on me. I ordered chips and salsa as well. $7 for literally 1/3 of a paper tray of chips. Trio of salsas that were clearly from a jar, and probably 10-15 chips. Seriously. 10-15. It was laughable. The bottom of the little paper tray was barely covered.) It took the waitress about 30 minutes to come back and see if we wanted any food, which is why we were there. We should've noticed no one else was eating. We SHOULD have taken a cue from the bad chips situation. But we were starving. We each ordered two tacos, which were reasonably priced at five dollars, but they were absolutely awful, and served on cheap paper plates. No silverware to be found. Not even plastic. Like I said, I should've taken a queue from everybody around me, this is clearly a place you go to drink. And truth be told, the drink prices weren't bad. Came here for happy hour. They have a great deal that lasts until 8pm every day. They have $2 off drafts, wine, $7 margaritas and also some food on happy hour. We got the buffalo cauliflower which was just cauliflower with buffalo sauce on it. Honestly, healthier but definitely lacking any finesse. We also got the nachos which were actually pretty delicious. I got a paloma which was a little on the sweet side, but pretty good. The service here is average, nothing to write home about. Vibes were OK! During happy hour it was packed, but literally as soon as happy hour was over, the place emptied out. Overall, a pretty good place to stop in for a drink before you go somewhere else. 345 blew my expectations out of the water! My partner and I were looking for a new happy hour spot to try and found this gem pop up on yelp. We were able to grab a resy the same day. Their happy hour has deals on sangria, frozen margs, beer, and of course tacos (pastor and chicken). We also ordered a few items off the regular menu too - the queso fundido with chorizo was incredible (pro tip, ask for chips instead!). I also really enjoyed the shrimp (camaron) taco! All in all we really enjoyed the food/drink here. Atmosphere was cool too, with a lot of neon and comedic signs inside. My friends and I came to Cantina 345 for a Comedy Show and our experience there was great. I mean the show was good but along with the show, the place is beautiful, Mexican decoration is colorful and nice. The food was so good, we only had tacos but we tried all the types of tacos they have and they were really good. (I heard happy hour is good too). Perfect little Happy Hour spot in the East Village. We went at 5.30pm on Taco Tuesday with a reservation but you could have walked in without one . They have indoor and outdoor seating, we chose indoor. I think it was cooler inside and you could hear the music good. Started with a frozen strawberry margarita which I think was $6 . My friend had draft Modelo beer , I think the pint was the same price. We got the guacamole and chips which were really good. Flavorful guacamole and I definitely recommend this. For tacos we ordered from the Taco Tuesday menu which is $3.50 each. We had 3 each and it was pretty filling. The Mushroom Taco was very earthy . But my favorite was the Fish Taco , it came with a nice purple slaw and had a really tasty sauce on top. Also it was fried nice and crisp. Definitely good with a couple drinks . I also tried the Paloma drink for $7 and it was really refreshing with tequila and grapefruit soda I think, and a grapefruit salt rim. Really charming. Staff are professional and very nice . The food was OK. I did like the Mushroom Taco alot, the Pulled Pork taco wasn't bad either. The guacamole was OK, I did find a hair on the chips so that was kind of discouraging. The frozen margaritas were on happy hour for $6 and they were just OK as well. The place ambiance was OK. We sat inside and it was way too hot, there's no air conditioning only in the bar not in the area for dining. Nor do they have any fans inside. We moved outdoors to maybe get air from the fans that are placed outside and it was still no circulation. The service was just OK as well. The female server seemed to not want to be working and wasn't really attentive at all. She just seemed to be annoyed. Overall I don't recommend this place. Such a cute place! Came here for my 30th birthday and it was the perfect spot. Festive, colorful, not too loud, and everyone who worked there was sooo nice. Good drinks, the signature drink was a bit sweet but good, and came with an awesome skull shaped ice cube. The nachos and chips and salsa were good, salmon was fine, and they brought complimentary champagne, flan, and churros which was super sweet and appreciated. Daughter moved to NYC last year and we've been looking for a legit Mexican place in NYC. We are from San Diego and we arguably have the best Mexican food in the States. I've also been numerous times to Baja California where food is amazing. This includes Tijuana, Rosarito, Enseñada, Valle de Guadalupe, and Cabo. We started with the nachos and it was amazing. I followed it up with birria tacos w/consomé, was very yummy, and coming from a guy who makes birria time to time. I also had their Mescal based drink that was refreshing and not too sweet, plus delicious. I usually do not write reviews, but I see the Mexican food scene starting in NYC. I've been to Tacos #1 in the Chelsea market, and that is the only other place the compares to Mexican food I'm use to out of many others I've tried in the city. We informed the waiter, Jose, that we were there for happy hour. The frozen margarita special caught our attention, and he offered us the choice of having it frozen or on the rocks. We were pleased to have the option, so we decided to go with on the rocks. However, when the bill came, we noticed we were charged full price for our margaritas and were told they weren't included in the happy hour deal. This felt a bit deceptive and misleading. We asked to speak with the manager, explaining that the happy hour pricing for margaritas wasn't clearly communicated when we explained we were there for happy hour and were given the choice between frozen and on the rocks. He dismissively brushed off our concerns, insisting that only the frozen drinks were part of the special, then laughed and gave us an attitude. I think the main issue we encountered was more about principle than the money, and the manager's dismissive attitude made it clear he didn't care whether his customers would return to his establishment. read more

This place has a great Happy Hour, great margaritas and good service. The tacos are inexpensive but the other drinks on the menu leave something be desired. My friend enjoyed his arepas, it was a casual Sunday afternoon brunch. The only issue is the drinks are sweet so if you're sugar sensitive I would ask for a less sweetened drink, half the sugar would be a great fit. They have outdoor seating and will bring you a tin for the dog. The frozen margaritas are definitely sweet but they have a really good HH from 4-8 daily. A great casual spot. read more
