Changing lives, one neutral dog at a time. Amani K9 are…read morechanging lives. Honestly, our Nyx (120# Cane Corso) had become a liability. We love her to pieces, but our sole focus was trying to manage her environment. Some of our "management" techniques included: cardboard blocking the slider so she wouldn't see and yell at the neighbors, or the squirrels; a heavy rope martingale harness to walk her to the car; blacked out the back windows of our car so she couldn't see out and yell at every pedestrian (and scratch at the windows); we could not walk her; she had to be completely sedated to be seen by a vet; we could only board her at a kennel an hour and a half away; she could not be introduced to visitors. Our goal was to keep everyone safe, but when we ended up at the E-vet with our Corgi (Lexi) we realized we were not up to the task and looked for help. Every interaction with Amani K9 has been professional, empathetic, direct and effective. From our first contact we felt supported and understood. We didn't know what to expect, but they were clear about what services they could provide and how to proceed. Our evaluation with Marianna and Synclair was so informative, it's clear they know and love what they do and want to help. We left that meeting feeling more hopeful about Nyx than we had been in years. We enrolled in the 8 week board and train, and not everyone in our household was completely on board. (8 weeks is too long, why can't we visit, when can we see her, when can we love on her) We were in it for the long haul though, and Marianna even volunteered to be the bad guy, because we were NOT managing Nyx, we were just delaying a potential catastrophe. The next lapse might be worse than just an E-vet visit and some stitches. Those 8 weeks flew by, and while we had 6 "sessions" to teach us how to communicate effectively with Nyx, it's a steep learning curve. Imagine learning a new language while also learning to tango and having to match words with movement AND remain grounded and neutral. It's a real strain on the brain, and we had some baggage we were carrying around. (How am I supposed to keep #105 (now) of determined muscle from going wherever she wants to go with this teeny tiny ribbon of a leash?) Marianna and Synclair are ultimate "hype girls" though, able to give constructive feedback while still pointing out all the right things that you're doing. At the end of those 8 weeks, Marianna brought Nyx home, walked me through all the important new processes we were going to incorporate, and then said the most helpful thing ever: "I'm not just walking out the door and you'll never see or hear from me again, I'm just an email away." After Nyxy's first day home, our local sceptic realized how relaxed and calm Nyx was, sleeping on her cot. It was inconceivable to him, based on the Nyx of before times, that she could be anything but miserable if she was held hostage in her "place". After Nyxy's second day, he asked when we would be getting a "place" cot for Lexi. It's work, it's constant and forever work, but the Nyx we have now is so much calmer and at peace than we ever could have imagined. In our attempt to "manage" Nyxy's environment, we had shrunk her world so much, it's a joy and relief to be able to expand Nyx's world for a change. Amani K9 changed our lives, and we will be forever grateful.

We enrolled our 15-month-old Dogo Argentino in their 8-week training program after adopting him from the Humane Society. He had been struggling with anxiety, recall, tantrums, and self-regulation. After just four weeks, during our parent training session, we noticed a remarkable difference in his temperament. He was able to manage his anxiety around other dogs and outside distractions, follow commands consistently, and walk calmly on a leash beside us--no more pulling or wandering aimlessly. This program has completely transformed our relationship with our pup. He now trusts us more deeply because not only did he learn how to regulate himself, but we also learned how to help him do so. He stays in place on his mat without following us around or begging for food--it's like having a completely different dog! We're so glad we chose Amani K-9. We feel more confident and connected in our relationship with our dog because we better understand him, and he knows exactly what we expect of him.

Definitely the best dog trainer I ever worked with and we have worked with many in this area. Very pleased and happy we made the purchase. We worked on basic obedience with our dog and he made great strides. The first session Porky wouldn't even sit. By the end of the 4th session our corgi can sit, come, lay down, heel and will lay on bed or wherever we point on command. He would give us homework to work on and we would practice with Porky at home between sessions. We are confident now Porky will retain these commands and is just much, much better trained after just 4 weeks. I highly recommend working with Michael for any type of dog you may have at any age. He is very knowledgeable and easy to communicate with. You can ask him questions and he always had a good answer for us. He also is a nice guy overall. I will make referrals for him going forward and will also buy more sessions for our other Husky dog who could benefit from his training. Go see for yourself...you will not be disappointed I almost guarantee.

I took my 3-year-old…read morelabradoodle, Simba, to their 2-week board and train program with Jamal, and the difference is honestly night and day. Before training, Simba had zero structure -- he pulled hard on the leash, barked at everyone and everything, and even bit my 2-year-old daughter. He was always a house dog, and I'll admit I let him get away with a lot. But after that bite incident, I knew something had to change. From the very beginning, Jamal really took the time to understand our household and what we needed, especially with a toddler in the mix. When Simba came home, I could not believe it was the same dog. He's now calm, obedient, and responsive. He no longer pulls on the leash or nips at anyone. He listens to commands, doesn't bark excessively, and has such a better sense of control and focus. What really stood out to me is that Jamal didn't just train my dog -- he also trained me. He gave me the confidence I needed as a dog owner to trust my dog and to trust myself. I now feel like Simba and I truly understand and respect each other. Our bond is stronger than ever, and I finally feel like I'm leading him in the right way. We can now take him to off-leash parks, and he plays nicely with other dogs but comes right back when called. At home, he's relaxed, respectful, and fits beautifully into our family again. I'm beyond grateful to Jamal and his team for giving Simba the structure and foundation he needed -- and for giving us peace of mind as a family. Highly, highly recommend K9 Timeless Training and Boarding!

Military MWR site can be found here: https://ice.disa.mil/index.cfm?fa=card&sp=126636&s=957&dep=*DoD My actual complaint: My dog was boarded at your facility for approximately thirteen days. Prior to boarding, he was in good overall health, fully up to date on all vaccinations, and exhibited no signs of illness. I also have video footage from the week prior to boarding showing him acting normally and healthy. He had vet records from the 8th of April also stating he was in overall good health. Unfortunately, the condition in which my dog was returned to me was deeply concerning and entirely unacceptable. Upon pickup, he appeared malnourished, dehydrated, and in respiratory distress. He was suffering from excessive sneezing and wheezing, runny eyes, a runny nose, with a hard time breathing, and a significant buildup of discharge that had begun to coagulate. This was clearly not the same healthy animal I entrusted to your care. I immediately took him to my veterinarian following pickup. The veterinary examination and records confirmed that he was both malnourished and dehydrated, in addition to suffering from respiratory symptoms. I have since incurred veterinary expenses exceeding the amount I paid for boarding services. During his stay, I contacted the facility to ask whether staff had noticed anything unusual regarding his health or behavior. I was assured that he was "perfectly fine" aside from minor sneezing. Based on the condition he was in at pickup, it is difficult to understand how these obvious changes went unnoticed or unaddressed by your staff. Even your manager acknowledged that I should never have had to take him to the veterinarian the same day he was released from your facility. In addition to the financial burden, I was forced to spend days and nights personally nursing my dog back to health after bringing him home. The situation was extremely stressful and emotionally exhausting, and I lost a significant amount of sleep caring for him and monitoring his condition to ensure he recovered safely. What is equally disappointing is the complete lack of accountability shown afterward. Despite the seriousness of the situation, neither the manager nor any member of the staff offered so much as an apology for my dog's condition or the distress and financial burden this caused. To date, no meaningful effort has been made to remedy the situation. I requested a refund due to the negligence, lack of attentiveness, and inadequate care provided during my dog's stay. I am extremely grateful I picked him up when I did, as the outcome could have been far worse had his condition continued to deteriorate unnoticed. I also have photographs, videos, and veterinary documentation supporting his condition immediately after pickup. Your own service agreement states that the facility "shall exercise reasonable care for the pet delivered by the owner to their facility for services." Based on the condition in which my dog was returned to me, I believe that obligation was clearly breached.

Coming from the competitive dog sport world, and holding a degree in Cynology (the study of canines or domestic dogs), it seems Bart has been a passionate and lifelong student of the dog. Just google and see for yourself. Rather than "quick fixes", he dives deep to understand first and foremost, your dog. For example, understanding HOW your dog operates is fundamental to building a healthy relationship to him/her so that your dog does things WITH you (and not FOR you). This is the critical foundation which Bart builds upon in shaping the behavior of all the dogs he works with. It just makes sense. Since we brought our German Shepherd pup to him last year, we have watched his remarkable transformation around obedience to now protection work. And it hasn't just been him! I have learned so much through Bart's online resources, lectures, and important discussions. This has been so much fun. Having to go with somebody else to train with after well over reasonable amount of waiting with no attempt from Bart to return contact.
