I thought this place would be good after looking at the website. My dog weighs 74 pounds and they charged me for a dog over 90 lbs. Rip-off. Made a mistake with the return date for the online kennel reservations. When I dropped off, I asked to change it because I knew I would be coming back a day earlier but I was told "no problem" if you come back early, you will be credited. When I got back and showed up to get the dog, I was told I would not get a 1 day refund because I didn't call 24 hours in advance for coming back earlier. Total BS! read more

We have been taking our pups to Four Paws for a while now and we love it. Our dogs are always excited to go and the staff are very kind and welcoming. We will continue to bring our dogs here while we are away. We love that they give us a "report card" of how our pets did while we were away and just recently started including photos. It is nice to have piece of mind that our pets are safe and happy when we can't be there. I also have to commend them for their patience with our crazy great dane, he is not the easiest dog. :) read more

I am VERY particular about where my 2 dogs go for boarding and grooming. We moved out here about a year ago and have only boarded them 1 other place here and were less than pleased. After much searching and research I went by 4 Paws for an unscheduled tour. I was very impressed with the girl doing the tour (sorry I can't remember her name). She knew every dog there by name and just loved and doted on them. I boarded them during an overnight staycation for us and they were great. They do charge $10 for the flea/tick prevention which is CLEARLY stated on the website and is standard practice for most non-chain boarding facilities. They do allow you to bring your own topical preventative and not pay $10 for theirs it just must be applied in their presence. I am perfectly fine with this as I do NOT want to bring fleas and/or ticks home with me!! Our dogs were skunked a few weeks later and they were very accommodating for getting them in as dogs have to be basically shaved in this instance. The normal groomer (previous review) wasn't available as they book in advance. They did great with a special shampoo and tried to make the cut as cute as possible while still accomplishing the de-skunking purpose. Prices are comparable. I'd rather pay a comparable price and know my fur-babies are in good hands than the cheapest around and worry. We are boarding them for a week while we're on vaca and it will be a relaxing time for us not having to worry about the care they are receiving. The ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is because while boarding we like our dogs in day care to socialize them with people and animals but the day care option is kinda pricey for only 2- 30 minute sessions. The WORST! Snobby,Overpriced,dog grooming salon.Charged $56 for bath and trim on 18lb cocker, she had been groomed & shaved down just 3wks earlier. I should have asked how much first, then I would have walked out! When I asked why so much, the groomer replied with a snippy, "your dog is large"... Are you kidding me..get glasses! 18lbs is large? Closer check, it was a shoddy groom. Muzzle wasn't even touched & I found three spots were my puppy was bleeding from cuts, also she had pooped in the cage and they didn't clean her up, they gave her to me that way!,...NEVER AGAIN...beware! read more

I have been taking my dog to get groomed here for years. I called to schedule an appointment a week before. The day of my appointment I was running late. They called me to see if I was coming and felt bad so I asked if I should reschedule or bring her in later. They said no we can fit her in but she will take longer. I thought it would be maybe 4 or 5 hours instead of 3. I dropped her off around 9 and called at 4:00 to see if she was ready. The lady put me on hold and came back and said she was not. I said well if you have not started I will just come and get her because we had to leave for the evening at 4:30. She sighed at me on the phone and was like I don't know but I will call you as soon as she is ready. I paced my house so furious about how I was treated on the phone and how long my dog has been there. I left my house to just go get her and they called me on my way there to say she was just about ready. When I got there they apologized but then I got my bill and it was $50 for a 4 pound dog to get a bad and hair cut. This is the most I have ever spent here. I paid them got my dog and was so furious I will never go back. 7 hours to groom a 4 pound dog is just so unacceptable to me. Still makes me mad. read more

This is the only place I'll let my dog stay when I have to go out of town. They always take such care of him and they all know him by name. My dog always gets so excited when we pull up to the building because he knows there's a whole staff that will love on him! Plus, the staff is always so kind and fair. They've stayed open a few minutes late when I was running late to get my pup and last week I decided to come back a day early and they credited my account the extra day. read more

This was my first visit at this establishment. I originally chose this place because of the nice and cordial person who answered the phone. I arrived at 7 am for my dog's first appointment. My first concern should have been the deameanor of the groomer. She did not emulate a warm "vibe". I was ressured by the owner that my dog was in "good hands". Three hours later I came back to pick him up. I went to pay and I was charged $50 for the groom, which over the phone I was informed that I would be charged $47. I wasn't going to argue over $3. After returning to our home, as the day progressed into the evening hours, I noticed a behavioral change in my dog. He was whipering in the night and at one point I picked him up from the floor to place him on the bed and when I placed my hand around his armpit he whimpered. This was not normal. I contacted the establishment the next day and spoke to the owner. I shared with him my concerns and he stated he would converse with the groomer in which he did and stated that my dog was a little skittish while getting bathed. I did warn them this of since he gets skittish with people he has never met before. I informed the owner that there must have been something else that happened because this was not normal behaivor for my dog. I informed the owner that I would be consulting with my Veterinarian in which I did. I ended up taking my dog in for a follow up visit because I noticed over the weekend and the beginning of the week, my dog had dried blood spots all over his body. My Veterinarian, after examining my dog, showed me his red inflammed skin under his coat. My Veterinarian stated that he had dermatitis. He said this is common when grooming establishments and groomers do not dilute the concentrated shampoo correctly and also from unclean clippers. I had to place my dog on antibiotics and a steriod in which I was not happy having to do. I sent the the invoice of my office visit, the charges for the medication, and requested to be reimbursed for the grooming bill to the owner which totalled to be around $130. The owner called me and was concerned that I waited 8 days to take my dog to get diagnosed. I explained to the owner that first of all we were seen on a Thursday and his condition didn't get worse until the weekend and the soonest my Veterinarian could see me was that following Friday. The owner kept speaking over me. He was very condescending and abrupt. He would not allow me to voice my concerns. He questioned the behaivor of my dog. I have had my dog for 11 years and if ANYONE knows his behaivor it is myself. Having my own business and working in the client industry that I do, I would try to make any resolution that I could if I ever came across a disgruntled customer. I certainly would not argue with them and talk over them. That is very disrespectful and shows the character of the individual. I wrote this review in hopes of making awareness to individuals that would be scheduling with this establishment for the first time or other places as well. read more

this place doesn't deserve a rating. i have a siberian husky who is 3 years old. we rescued him at 6 months. he is the most sweetest, caring loving dog that loves humans! he has NEVER bitten anyone. his back legs are sensitive cuz the first 6 months of his life he was in a kennel and the owners never took him out. well this is my last time EVER going here again. my husband told them that his back legs are sensitive but he won't bite you he just doesn't like when you touch them. and he said i don't want you guys muzzling my dog (cuz last time they did which is bullshit.) we have taken journey to different groomers and he does great with all of them EXCEPT for here. obviously they treat my dog with disrespect. anyway so i get a call saying that journey is barking and showing his teeth and going crazy (which is a lie cuz i have never seen my dog do that with anyone or at the groomers). well then she goes do you want to muzzle him or take him home? and i'm like of course i'm taking my dog home screw you guys. so my husband and i pick him up and they were like "he was doing fine til we showed him the muzzle." WHAT THE HELL????? then why place the muzzle on him? anyway we won't EVER be going to this shitty place again. i am so upset. screw them. they don't know how to do there job and seemed so terrified of dogs so why be in this business? anyway worst dog grooming place ever. listen to the bad reviews i'm telling you, you don't want your dog going here. read more

As far as boarding? I can't rate 4 paws. I know I've seen the kennels and probably would not board my 48 lb GoldenDoodle there. She's only a 1 yr old and needs space and personal contact. Also many kennels are outside and during summer? No way. As far as grooming? They are pricey I found out. Been taking my Shiloh there a year now and my groomer does beautiful work. But what gets me is the charge changes due to "size' 45 lbs is not a large dog to me and Golden Doodles fur coat can be a challenge but not my pup, as she is not super curly or a mess when she goes in. At first gal at front desk was totally rude and I took her to task about it. That's not my style and I work retail so I know about Customer Service. They definitely had an attitude problem in the beginning there but the gal with the Tude is now gone I think, as I've not seen her there the past 3 times I take Shiloh which is about every 5 weeks. Cost is around 80 bucks for wash, groom and simple services. Getting to be too costly and there are many others who don't charge this much. But Shiloh comes home beyond beautiful and she is happy to be there and my groomer is beyond sweet and caring. read more

I took my yorkie to 4 paws for grooming april 2/15 He tends to be somewhat nervous as are most yorkies. When we came to pick up the dog he was shaking uncontrollably, a 1/2 hour later he was throwing up and could not even stand up. He became increasingly weak and I returned to 4 Paws and asked if they had tranquilized him. They said no they had not, however I told the receptionist that was not true, I had never ever seen him in that condition before. We took him to the vet and by that time he was rolling his eyes and his body was contorting. The vet gave him a shot to calm him and within a 1/2 hour it took effect. He spent the next two days sleeping and vomiting. Finally by the third day he was able to stand up but not able to walk without falling over. After a week he has returned to normal. The veterinarian called me two days to check on the dogs condition. This was clearly a case of abuse, any tranquilizers MUST BE APPROVED, it is not their right to administer drugs WITHOUT APPROVAL FROM THE OWNER....... They clearly lied........
