They were able to get our little miniature schnauzer cairn Terrier in within a few days, the prices were very reasonable, and they did a great job. Between working long hours and not even sunlight to keep my pup entertained, I sought out this doggie daycare. After reading their reviews, I decided to set up an appointment. Leah called me back within an hour of submitting my request. She was so friendly and explain the entire evaluation process. I was impressed with how fast they responded and at ease she made me feel over the phone. My partner dropped my dog off the next day. The process was easy, but as nerve wracking as leave your kid at their first day of preschool. I called twice while Kona was there, I was communicated quickly when on the phone. Kona passed and has been welcomed back in to the business! When I picked up, the facility has front door parking. Which is way cool, so that there's a smaller chance of your dog running around the parking lot. Also a short distance to go when it's 115 outside. The facility was clean, and I felt comfortable with leaving her there. They have great package deals that offer grooming and boarding discounts. I love Gilbert dogs 24/7! It was so nice to be able to take my 100 lb, white Great Pyrenees, Benson, somewhere every day and not have to worry about him. They keep you informed as to any changes in your payment, your availability to have two free dog washes when you do the monthly unlimited, and even offer discounted boarding with your membership. I'd also like to point out that they have amazing, amazing, manager named Adrianna that is there almost everyday. You can tell she works really hard and puts a lot of effort into her work. It's extremely helpful being able to walk inside and she knows who I am and who Benson is and being able to establish that bond to where she can just take him straight in the back for me when I'm in a rush. Also I enjoyed knowing that he had fun there with other dogs and being able to leave him there for over 10 hours when I had super long workdays and knowing that he will still get fed and taken out and taken care of. The only piece of constructive criticism I can have for this place is the pricing. Being a full-time worker and full-time student it would be nicer if it was easier for me to afford their pricing so I could keep coming here. We boarded our dog Brooklyn here over the holiday break for 11 days as well as paid for her to be washed and have her nails clipped. We picked her up earlier than they expected us to through some miscommunication about timing. When we got her she smelled like she had been lying in urine and hadn't been cleaned in days and days. She was also sick - sneezing, absolutely no energy for four days, and wouldn't eat for two days. It took about a week for her to get back to being herself. We have no idea what actually happened because she can't tell us, but we won't ever be boarding her here ever again. read more

I love love love that this place is open 24/7. Idk how many other dog places are like that but it's very helpful for the person who needs to drop their dog off at midnight and also so helpful for the dogs to always have staff there to be with them. They're kennel free so the doggies are always playing. They offer good package deals and their rates are very affordable for what they offer. My dog freaks out with excitement everytime we pull into the parking lot. The staff really gets to know the dogs and you can tell how much dedication is put into keeping them active and played with. There are more 24/7 dog locations over the valley and they're all connected so if I needed to go to another location besides Gilbert, my dogs info would already be in their system. They also do grooming, so bathing and nail trimming and brushing. They're hidden in the back of the plaza they're in next to the Swimhaus swim school. read more

I feel so guilty for leaving my fur baby with these people. I picked her up yesterday to find her like this. (See photos below) and the worst part is they didn't even notice anything had happened. We had to bring my dog back inside, to show them. It was obvious my golden was completely terrified of spending another minute in this place, because she pulled and cried the entire time. When the worker saw the very noticeable puncture wound crusted over with blood she shrugged and said she was playing with a puppy with sharp teeth early that morning (Saturday) but that's the only thing she remembers. Then when I called to speak to a manager another girl gave me a completely different story saying she had noticed a dog had scratched Lucy on her nose Friday but it was hardly noticeable. Clearly, this is very deep wound with risk of infection, there's no way anyone paying any attention to these animals wouldn't notice this. I understand that things can happen when you get a lot of dogs together in a cage free environment playing, but it's unbelievably negligent that not one person called to update us, let alone even noticed it to clean it and make sure she was ok when it happened. To top it off she came home completely covered and smelling of urine. These people clearly pay no attention to our pets. If they did they would've noticed this and made us aware immediately. The fact that no one can tell me how or when it happened is unacceptable. Oh and I'm still waiting for that "call back" from the manager... do yourself and your dog a favor and never step foot inside this place. Just hoping my dog recovers from the trauma inflicted on her in the short 30 hours she spent with them. read more

"The best cage free experience" was not achieved for my first time visit. I only had bella, my WHITE huskey there for a half day and when I went to pick her up she was given back to me smelling like urine & her coat was yellow & brown. Not to mention her elbows, paws were black & her coat was sticky. The lobby was dirty, I can't imagine what the back where the dogs are kept. "cage free" it's literally a big room where they throw all the dogs together with a gate at the door. She was very anxious, thirsty & wheezing which is not like her. The customer service was terrible the lady's were no help at all and when I said "I'm here to pick up Bella" they all looked at each other like I'm not doing it. Let me start by saying we only board our dogs when we absolutely cannot find anyone else. We've been using this facility for about for years now and unfortunately the last two visits will be landing them a complaint to the maricopa county humane society and the BBB. Yesterday I picked my two small dogs up after 13 days, you can imagine how exciting it was to be reunited. I was greeted by damp and discolored dogs who smelled of urine. MY DOGS WERE WET AND DISCOLORED BY DOG URINE. While I was losing my mind Joey gave me a few excuses; "they've been here for two weeks ma'am" "you were scheduled to pick up tomorrow" "I don't work everyday I can't tell you when they were cleaned last". No one could tell me how often they clean the facility or even when it was done last other than "night and morning" which contradicts what another employee states which was "a deep cleaning three times a day". I received my refund and my dogs will be going to the vet to find out what they've been exposed to which is also what I've asked for them to pay as well. The response to this was that they will only pay for "comprehensive care" at a facility they are contracted with and when they told me to go. In the time that I sat in their waiting room I witnessed 6-7 other dogs leaving and not one of them were wet and not one of them smelled horrendous. Why were my dogs left in this condition, how long were they sitting in this condition and how much longer would they have remained that way had I not shown up early? No one can answer that. If that is not off putting enough, the year prior my Yorkie was bitten by a brown recluse spider but that was disclosed to us as a pustule that had ruptured. We received a call stating they heard Boston yelp but they looked him over and the vet tech determined it wasn't serious. Fast forward three days and Boston's shoulder is the size of a softball and he can barely walk. A portion of skin the size of an index card was removed from his shoulder because it had died and had we not caught this he could've died but had someone paid more attention also could've been avoided. I bookmarked this place originally after seeing their reviews and hoped to try it out one day. Then, lo and behold my favorite deal site Groupon comes along and gives me a great deal right when I'm about call them up to get my Scottie groomed. First of all, they spent time verifying that my dog had all her shots. She was not up to date and would not accept her until I can bring in records that she was. That was good because she was for sure due for shots. That was also good because I know all the dogs she will be around all day are also up to date. Some people may look at this as inconvenience, I look at it as quality. They were even apologizing to me but no worries! Next up, when I was able to bring her in, the Groupon (or your first check in) comes with all day doggie day care. So I dropped her off in the morning, and in the afternoon, shazam, I have a happy dog that looks like a Scottie should look (look at my before/after photo). They loved having her and I know my dog had a blast. The groomer did a great job and the daycare makes it a breeze. I do plan on coming back here the next time my dog is looking shaggy. read more

Even after confirming time and which location while on the phone, when I got there they acted as if they had no idea we were coming. And the cherry on top, they say they can do their nails but can only provide nail trimming at the time, not filing. Huh!? What's the point. We walked out. We took our dog here and completely regret it. We brought her here for a few knots behind her ears, one of which is still present after her grooming. She definitely wasn't washed after her cut because she has hair flying everywhere and she doesn't normally shed. The haircut looks awful. The place seems miserable. I just love this place. I took my golden in for play & grooming. I haven't noticed this before but my boy smells so good. High recommendations! I boarded my dog August 24-27, 2017. No problems with drop off. Staff always seems friendly. This was our second visit. I left food, bowls and her cage with a towel we slept with the night before to comfort her. We checked in Friday and Sunday. We were told all is well by the staff. Picked up Nia Sunday around 6pm. It was extremely busy. A lot of dogs being dropped off (4) and picked up (5) while I was there. I asked why there was a different blanket in Nia's cage. Nicole said another dog got into her cage and peed on Nia's towel. First warning sign. Got into car when I realized staff had not returned food or vitamins. Went back in (more dogs being dropped off and picked up) to get food. We returned home. As usual, I placed cage outside so that I could rinse out before bringing back into the home. Shook out the blanket given by Gilbert Dogs and a large roach flew out of it!!! I killed the roach. Second warning sign. Called terminix to schedule an appointment to spray (I'm an official germaphobe) inside and outside my home. Nia licked her private area excessively. Third warning sign. Looked at her area and it was red and swollen. Early morning (7:12am) I call Gilbert Dogs left detailed message with Erica. She assured my the manager would call me back around 8:30-9am. Noon..no call. I called again (12:12pm) call went to voicemail. I left message. No call. Today at 7:34am I called again. Spoke with Christine (I believe that was her name..something with a C). Retold my concern. She also assured me she would call me back once she spoke with the manager. It's 4:56pm. No reply. Took my dog to the vet because I thought she may have kennel cough. She has the shakes and what resembles dry heaves. Fourth warning sign. Doctor confirmed vaginitis and a possible UTI. Said if the antibiotics do not clear up the heaves/cough bring her back in for an X-ray and blood work. My concern now is that my dog may have been violated and the towel probably had blood on it. They said they washed the towel but did not return it Think twice about choosing this facility for your loved one. I thought we would have another pleasant experience but we did not. I called this place to see about nail clipping services. A very nice voice told me yes, they do and it's $10. I was happy to find someplace close to home where I could keep my rescue pup groomed. I made an appointment, arrived as the only customer in sight, and walked into an empty shop. A young lady came out soon and quickly took my dog to the back to clip his nails. About 10 min. later she brought him out. She told me she only cut the front paw nails because he was becoming stressed. She charged me $5. I told her that was strange because where I used to take him I had never heard that before. She said, oh, well I guess they didn't care about stressing him! What!? Now what do I do with a dog who is only half clipped? You either do the job or you don't! Now I'm the idiot who has to go somewhere else and say, just cut the rear nails. I had the front done yesterday! Now, the reason I decided to write this, is that as I was just holding him, I noticed his front nails are not even cut right! A couple cut normal & another couple nails not cut at all! All I can advise readers is please do not go here for nails! Boarding...maybe, but not nails! Terrible & disappointing service!! I've been taking my girls to Gilbert Dogs pretty much since they opened. That's 10 years of excellent attention and service for my dogs. Staff is so friendly and willing to help in any way. My younger dog recently had some sort of scare and became nervous leaving the house. The early morning staff worked with me to give her treats when she arrived to reinforce she was safe. Fear has gone away. I so appreciate the staff's help in listening and agreeing to work with me as we created more trust for her. When our oldest dog passed away, the gave our family a nice video to memorialize our loss. Gilbert Dogs is filled with compassionate and kind staff. Whether boarding or daycare, I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else. I just miss seeing Stephen and Doug. :-) read more

My golden arrived freshly groomed, he came back from this place after a week of boarding (my mistake) filthy. Absolutely filthy. He also came back with giardia. Bad case. He had frequent, nasty diarrhea for a long time... he was in pain and shaking. I had to stay up with him at night for about a week. He went in healthy and happy. it took him days before he'd even make eye contact with us. After one emergency vet and a 2nd vet visit later, he's stabilizing on antibiotics, but do NOT take your dog here. 2 weeks later and we're still dealing with tummy issues even with him on medication. If you care about your dog, you won't board them here. I won't make that mistake again. read more

I was born and raised in Arizona and recently returned after several years away. I brought my 10-month-old Labradoodle with me thinking that we would spend the whole week together. It turned out the place we're staying would not accept her and I found Gilbert Dogs as a result. What an amazing experience it has been! We had our vet records faxed to them and she went through the introduction and was very happy to be there. The next day she played all day and her tail was wagging from shoulder to shoulder when she arrived. We scheduled grooming with them while she was staying with them and it was so easy and pleasant to work with the entire staff. I hope I can find daycare like this when I am back home in Portland. I walked in on a Saturday around 1:00 in the afternoon to check the place out for a future boarding and was not happy with what I saw. They are about to move to a new location and badly need it, but that's not what bothered me. The reception staff did not seem informed, the paperwork he was trying to put together for me was very unorganized, and he even answered a phone call for a reservation that could have gone to voicemail while I was in the middle of trying to make one. When I looked through the window, the one staff member was standing at the computer, checking her facebook while there were 10-15 large dogs in the area barking. When she saw me, she logged out but did not close the browser (making it obvious to me that as soon as I left, she planned to go back to it) and went to go put some things away. As I looked around there was pee all over the floor or water of some kind, which, in my opinion, the facebook user should have been cleaning up instead of letting it sit with the dogs surrounded by it. This is probably an ok place to take your dog, but I will never board my 2 here because of the lack of professionalism and pride the staff takes in their facility. read more

Went in today to check out the home visit prices and see what all they had to offer. Walking into the place you got hit by a wall of odor. I know having lots of dogs in a small space won't make any room smell like roses, however I would like to think that they clean the place every once in a while. I then asked about a service listed on the flyer and the website and was told that they don't do that. Then why list it??? I also didn't like how from the front office you couldn't see into where they kept the dogs, though I could hear them all going crazy. On my way out I realized that you could see in through the side from broken blinds. There were a ton of dogs in a small space with no one in sight. Also, side note from looking at the pictures on yelp...Yes, they have couches instead of cages but those couches look dangerous since they are so broken. I wouldn't wan my dog sitting on or running near that. Since I haven't actually used the service I won't give it only one star, but from what I've seen I will not be back or calling for home service thats for sure. It would have been perfect too, since I live only a mile away. read more

Looked on Yelp, of course, to find a place to take my babies and found Gilbert Dogs. To add to the fact that I had found a place close to me with good reviews, I also got a deal to use for $10 off. I walked in was greeted by someone at the front desk and a groomer. They were very polite. The groomer, after asking what I wanted, immediately grabbed my two dogs and took off with them. I bet i wasn't in there five minutes. I wish they had played with my dogs and gotten to know them before they just whisked them away. One of my dogs was wearing a thunder shirt which clearly indicates anxiety, but they took no time with us. I was really surprised. What wasn't surprising was that my dogs were shaking when I picked them up. I think they were terrified I wasn't coming back. At any rate they did exactly what I asked and my dogs looked and smelled really good. They aren't terribly friendly, but are polite. I wish they had been more talkative to me and treated me like they wanted me to come back. Instead it was just a transaction: pick up dogs, pay, leave. The place was clean, but loud, because they do boarding, but I'm sure it must have freaked my dogs out to hear all that noise. I didn't realize it would be all in the same area when I found the place. You can hear the dogs barking from across the parking lot. So, they did a good job at a good price grooming my dogs, but I want to feel appreciated, I want my dogs to be actually cared for (I miss my Vegas groomer, she LOVED my dogs) and I want to feel like I'm dealing with friends, not a counter person at a retail store and that's what this felt like. Gilbert Dogs took great care of my dog Duke and my mom's 2 dogs while we went to CA for vacation in Oct. We initially looked at Gilbert Dogs because they are completely kennel-free and my dog really hates being contained. It was also important to us that they are staffed 24-hours. You can tell by their policies and the very detailed questions they ask on their forms that they really care about the health and safety of the dogs in their care. The staff here is very friendly and I especially liked that they post videos and photos to their Facebook page. It was great seeing our dogs happy and safe while we were away. Gilbert Dogs is a great place for your dog to vacation while you are on holiday. Their facility is large enough to accommodate a great mix of dogs. They have an area for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs. They are open 24/7 and staffed the entire time. I put my medium size dog in the small area so he can feel like a king (he's a very easy going puggle). My dog always is always excited to go and play with the dogs while we are away. I know he plays A LOT, because 10 minutes into the car ride home, he is passed out. He is as excited to go to Gilbert Dogs 24/7 as he is to come home with us. As much as I think my dog is depressed when he sees us packing up for a trip, he is the first one out the door and into the car knowing that he is going to Gilbert Dogs 24/7 for his retreat. I have been a client of Gilbert Dogs 24/7 since they opened. I had an older dog that needed extra care (who is now in doggy heaven), and they were great with him. I had no problem bringing my dog there. This place truly cares about dogs. They are always friendly and willing to work with any needs or extra care, without nickel and diming you. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!! I had them go to get evaluated there a few days before I left town for a few days. They seemed understaffed, it smelled a little, but the dogs seemed just fine when I picked them up a few hours later. My dogs stayed for 3 nights over a weekend. My husband wouldn't even stay in the lobby because it smelled so terribly of old urine and ammonia. The dogs were excited to come home but smelled SO bad. We drove with all the windows rolled down 40 minutes home in 109 degree weather because they smelled THAT BAD! I spent a good hour washing them both and noticed my lab had her skin allergies flare up so badly I need to take her in to get an antibiotic from the vet. And my pit mix had sores on and in between his paws. Taking him to the vet too. My advice, dish out they money to take your pets elsewhere. read more

After several years of repeat business, I still love this place for my pups. I can't say enough good things about the owner, and the choices he's made on how to run his business. His employees are all genuine animal lovers, and go through behavioral training so they know the difference between normal doggy rough-housing and the beginning of something more aggressive. They also go through dog CPR training, so I know my furry ones are in good hands if something should happen. Love the flexibility in pick up and drop off hours, and love that the dogs get to play any time they want. I took my dogs to Gilbert Dogs to be groomed on a Saturday. They were able to squeeze me in last minute, which I appreciated. The grooming took an appropriate amount of time. Everyone who worked here was really friendly. I noticed 5-6 piles of poop in the doggy daycare while waiting to pick up my dogs. I notified them of it and they went to clean it right away. Here is where they lose stars: 1.) The place was extra stinky. I cannot help it - I am acutely aware of smell. Yes, I know they have dogs here, but they need to do something about it. The one in Chandler does not smell nearly as bad. 2.) My dog Noodle was nicked both under the leg and on her eyelid. It was not immediately noticeable, but as soon as I got home I noticed. I called and spoke with a young man on the phone about her eye. He said he would have someone call me back. That never happened. I know these things can happen, but I just feel like the groomer should make you aware of it at pickup. Overall, this location is not as convenient to me as Chandler Dogs 24/7. I will continue to go to Chandler Dogs, but I will probably not be back here. read more

After trying out multiple other places in the East Valley that I was not happy with, I got lucky and stumbled upon Gilbert Dogs. That was around 10 years ago and I have never looked back. The owner and employees are all wonderful. I know from being with them all this time that my dogs will be more than well taken care of. I would not trust my girls to anyone else, and have never had any issues with them. My pups consider them a second family, I think. I'm grateful I found Gilbert Dogs and sleep well when they are being boarded and we are travelling. And they always love daycare days and come home tired (yes!). Brought my dog in for a deshedding treatment and a groom. I when i got home from picking her up i brushed out her coat and took a very large amount of hair off of her. On top of that she was not even fully trimmed. The hair around her ears and throat is still very long. The trim looks rushed even though they had my dog for about 10 hours.
