Well Chicago's Best Services followed up their first home run performance with another HOME RUN! I had 4 days to get the job done with my busy schedule and I told Bryan and his crew it had to be done no matter what. They took on the daunting task to clear out the final things my mother could not sell during her estate sale and the goodwill and salvation army did not want. This was another truck full of stuff. Then they went from top to bottom cleaning every nook and cranny of that property. All my moms sticky cabinets all the cobwebs in the basement and cleaned out every bathroom cabinet shelf kitchen rack and kitchen surface. Everything was as clean as it could be for a 25 year old home. They then came in and shampooed the carpets and mopped and disinfected all the floors. Bryan even pulled out the old caulk in the bathrooms and recaulked these areas as he knew I was placing the property on the market. He came out gave me the estimate and I was amazed at the value with the amount of work that had to be done. I jumped on it and we set up the final phase cleanup for the next two days. He joined his crew and they knocked it out. The place is is exactly that way I asked it to be. I could not have accomplished this cleanup on my own even if I had a week.... BUT BUT BUT here is the kicker! At the beginning of the cleanup I told Bryan and his crew that everything in the house that is not attached to the property goes in the trash and must be removed. My Mother already had months to set aside and pack up what she wanted and we helped her a few weeks before packing everything she wanted into moving containers bound for the West Coast. So at this juncture of the move everything left in the house was expendable. After I left town Bryan called me about a framed piece of art that he put in his car that he found in the house during the clean out. I remember this piece of art and asked my Mother about it! She jumped up and screamed that is hers and that her my Mother had hand knit it and she framed it more than 40 years ago! I asked her why she had not packed it or told me or my siblings to pack it while we were there? She had no answer and could not believe she forgot something so dear to her. I was already back in Cali with my Mother so its not like I could go and pick it up. Bryan went off to the UPS store had them pack it up and sent it to my mother. My mother is 77 years old and things like this art piece mean the world to her and she was in tears when I told her what Bryan from Chicagos Best Services did for her. The reason that this is a big deal is that nobody knew that this piece of art was part of a trash pile. Bryan found it and looked at it and had a feeling that it probably was not a piece of rubbish. He took time to call me and ask me about it. Bryan did not have to do that, he did not even have to think to do that as I expressly told him that everything was now trash. He said to me, "It was the right thing to do and its all Love!" This return of the art piece shows how they went above and beyond and are just the kind of people that do the right things and you would want helping you. I have had nothing but great experiences with this outfit and would highly recommend them to anyone. If you prepare properly for the job to be done and layout exactly what you want you will not be disappointed. Bryan!! Previous guy I'd met was surprised by what I told him, so he contacted Bryan on my behalf (who I believe had blocked my number until then). Only then did I get a text from Bryan saying the money would be returned. Previous guy agreed to help me out since I am now down supplies, significant time, and I have work to undo and fix. He makes a plan to come today, 4 days later, now pushing my timeline to the very last minute. But I at least have someone coming who I've met, so I turn down two other bids to start the work the past few days. He's supposed to come at 6am, so my family and I move around our schedules to make sure the home is available and our baby is out of the house earlier than usual. I get no replies to texts or emails until 10am, when I try calling from my husband's phone (showing this guy had also blocked my number - evidently a normal practice for Bryan and his team). Previous guy answers and says Bryan threatened to sue him if he worked with me. So instead of telling me he couldn't come he just ghosted. Again, seems to be common practice here. So now I'm even further behind, still have bad work that needs to be fixed, supplies that need to be replaced, and two deposits being held with no communication from Bryan for 4 days. I can assure everyone I have been nothing but professional in all of my correspondence and given these people no reason to behave so childishly and unprofessionally. I felt the price we agreed was very fair and the end result looks fantastic. All curtain rods installed very evenly (they used a leveler) and look very aesthetically pleasing. They were also patient with us as we tried to figure out the best height to mount off of the floor, and they used their own screws where the manufacturer provided ones were lacking.
