TL;DR: great customer service; ethical; quality work We've been a client of Superior Chimney since we moved into our home about five years ago. They repaired our fireplace and chimney so it would be usable and not dangerous. We have them come out every year or so for maintenance check, and we recently enlisted their services to look at the furnace chimney because we had a leak coming from the roof into the furnace during heavy rains. I booked the appointment with Danielle, who called to confirm the day prior to our appointment. Our technician, Brad, called to advise with arrival time to narrow the four hour window, and was spot on. Brad assessed the situation, wrote up and explained the estimate, showed pictures of the areas needing repair, and we agreed he and his coworker should proceed. Brad then showed pictures of the completed work and explained what they had done, and we were satisfied. Brad had brought a copy of Superior Chimney's Customer Bill of Rights for us, and strongly suggested that we contact an HVAC technician because water had made it into the furnace. These guys are great - extremely, professional, very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I called their 800 number and someone answered promptly, booking a time was easy although they're busy so the earliest opening was 3-4 days out. Quoted me a price of $175 for a basic cleaning and inspection, but said they were running a promotion so it was only $125. The day before my appointment, they called to confirm as promised and then the service technician (Patrick) called the day of to let me know the approximate time when he'd arrive. Patrick arrived on time with his ID badge and was very professional and knowledgable. He had an apprentice working with him, so one inspected/cleaned the outside/upper chimney while the other worked inside. They set up a tarp to protect my floor and the process took 45 minutes. The inspection report showed a few recommended items and Patrick was very good about indicating the "recommendations" from the "may want to consider" items, so no hard sell or misleading sales activities. He also provided photos that were taken on my chimney (I witnessed it, so not some dumbed up pics) that showed why/where work was needed. I had him perform several of the recommendations and they offered a 15% discount on the estimate if the work was done while they were there. Work was well done, price was reasonable, they showed me before and after photos of the work and were done in a couple of hours from the time they arrived until the time they left. I purchased a new home which has a fireplace. This is my first time having to deal with a fireplace and I wanted to be sure everything was OK before heading into the winter months. I call Superior Chimney and was able to set up an inspection appointment within 2 weeks, at my convenience. Derek and Anthony were terrific to work with! Derek took his time to explain everything that needed to be done and why. Derek took lots of pictures which helped him explain the repairs that were needed (some were required before burning a fire). He also had lots of pamphlets and brochures for my additional information. There was absolutely no pressure to have anything done outside of the inspection. After being assured that there was enough time, I chose to have the work completed the same day as the inspection. After all, I wanted to use the fireplace and was advised to NOT use the fireplace until certain critical repairs had been made. Derek and Anthony were quick and quiet while they worked, and left my home clean and my fireplace in great shape. We have used Superior Chimney several times over the years, and they always do a great job. As a project manager, I hire tradespeople for my clients, and so I deal with many, many trades per year. We seldom have surprises when we hire because I think we try to do a pretty good job of due diligence. So, if I didn't think Superior Chimney was a good call, we wouldn't have made it. Even this year in dealing with the company, I must say I don't think things could have been any smoother. We were only doing a routine maintenance check, but from the scheduling, to the follow-up phone calls they made to me due to weather, to the technicians calling before and upon arrival, to the unbelievable politeness of the technicians, all the way through with respect to an efficient job and quick follow-up with email, many site photos, and an estimate for repairs, all was absolutely great. Also, I'm very happy to say the work they did several years ago looks to be holding very well. And, last, I must re-emphasize that technicians Patrick and Nick could not have been nicer or greater. I did a lot of research before I picked a contractor to do major work on our brick chimney (Naperville). Superior Chimney (877-244-6349) was highly rated, and I like what they had to say and the they had all the required certifications I was looking for. Also, I liked the fact that their masons were employees, not outsourced. They did a GREAT job for us at a fair price. The work entailed a new stainless-steel flue, new cap, removal and replacement of the top 10 brick courses and several deteriorated brick, parging, tuckpointing. They matched the new brick perfectly. Every day they sent photos (inside and out) of the progress. My dad was a bricklayer for over 30 years, so I was able to admire the QUALITY job these guys did and the professional and friendly way they handled the entire engagement, from beginning to end. AND, there was a slight over payment, which Superior caught, so they called me and then sent a refund!! I HIGHLY recommend this firm. read more

Superior Chimney is easily a 5-star outfit with the most professional staff. Chris came out for a routine sweep and to convert our gas fireplace to wood burning. Chris was a perfectionist every step of the way and is someone that obviously takes a lot of pride in what he does. He had a new employee with him in training and at no point did it feel that way. My wife and I did some comparisons on pricing and Superior was right on point and in some cases less expensive than others. In the end, we probably signed up for more work than we needed but it's comforting to know we're safely able to burn wood in our fireplace for many years to come without worry. Superior was great. They were able to come out right away and they were not only able to clean the chimney but also do all the repairs we ended up needing the same day. Derrek was our technician. He and his assistant were very courteous and so sweet in tiptoeing around because my daughter was sleeping. We knew that the chimney in our new house hadn't been serviced in a very long time, if ever. Derrek showed me the pictures and carefully explained all the repairs we were going to need to make the fireplace useable and keep from having to make costly repairs later if the deterioration continued. He also gave me a lot of pamphlets so I could read up on the repairs more. Their prices were reasonable and they worked cleanly and efficiently. I could not wait to write this review! I have nothing but praise for Superior Chimney Services, from start to finish. I knew that the top half of our chimney needed to be rebuilt. Making the appointment was a breeze. The response was prompt, professional and incredibly courteous. Nick was our technician and not only took pictures to document the status of my chimney, but explained everything utterly clearly. This was followed up by an absolutely beautiful job on my chimney! Anthony and Billy did all of the work. The brick matched beautifully to my old brick. And, once again, they were prompt, courteous and completely professional. Anthony made sure to explain every step to me, and it was all documented with photos. I have not been so happy with a home repair in quite a while! Short Story - Absolutely PHENOMENAL Service by Brad & Angel (15-Dec-2023) Long Story - purchased the home back in 2020 and have been remodeling the entire home ever since. During the home inspection spalling on the chimney was noted but was never addressed. We scheduled a cleaning and inspection from Superior Chimney due to their outstanding reputation which they lived up to. During their review of our 1960's chimney they found much more than spalling which didn't surprise me given some of the things we have found during our remodel. They provided us a detailed review of all issues which was A LOT! They understood that our primary objective was to get it up and running without taking on the whole project.
