So one day I decided to dedicate a good portion of my life researching a planted fish tank and then what a f****in mistake that was. $1000 later and I'm now in this store. I've had this fish tank sitting with plants \ for the past 2 months and last weekend was finally time for me to spend money on some fish. (Why did I have to wait 2 months? Look up nitrogen cycle. If you don't know what it is, don't buy fish.) I came in looking to browse but instead end up up buying about 40 fish because the prices were more than fair. I was actually only looking for Siamese Algae Eaters but unfortunately they didn't have any in stock. I did come out with some otocats instead though. I had been shopping/browsing online and their prices were pretty much on par if not cheaper than what I saw online. Their more exotic fish can be found for cheaper at other stores, but these guys are honest and charge a fair price. This is my first stop on all future fish buying trips. read more

I hadn't been here in a while but I came in a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. They had a good freshwater fish selection with plenty of tetras. I got seven cardinal tetras and six of them have survived a week later which is good for that finicky fish. They were much cheaper than comparable stores in the area. I haven't been here in over 6+ years but I started getting back into aquariums this year so I thought I'd come back and see what they have. I have a shrimp tank that I wanted to add more shrimp too. I called and they assured me they had freshwater shrimp. I headed down and OMG they have a bunch of beautiful shrimp at an amazing price! Eric helped me out the whole time. He grabbed the exact shrimps I wanted and was so helpful and knowledgeable! I also got a moss ball for my tank as well. I will definitely be coming back here for more shrimp in the future. Came here because of the great reviews, and now I hate myself for not coming here sooner. I love their large selection of fish, and the prices are a steal. Some reviews mentioned that many guppies die shortly after they leave the store, but that was not my experience. I got one Dumbo elephant male guppy and three large female guppies and all of them survived. One of them even gave birth to 23 fry a week later (also 100% survival rate). Went in because a fish I bought yesterday already died. In the process of testing the water the man behind the counter scolded me for how I keep my tank temperature. When testing the water he scolded me again for the PH. All Of the test kits I've used before said pH was great. That's the worst customer service I've ever received at this store. My boyfriend and I passed by this local fish store on our way to a sporting goods store down the street and had to stop and take a look. Despite it being extremely warm inside the store (from very little ventilation and multiple lights from tanks, I assume), we were pleasantly surprised by the overall appearance. Everything was neatly organized and displayed, with plenty of room to walk around and view products and all the fish. All of the fish look well taken care of and there was not a dirty tank in sight. No dead fish either, which is always a relief to see at small stores like these. We weren't greeted by or talked to by any of the employees here because it was pretty busy, with lots of people walking around, but we weren't bothered by that at all. They either have a new owner or a new manager. This store use to be great but Now the Owner/Manager is really horrible. Today he was yelling at his employees and this is the second time he has refused to get me the particular fish I want out of the Tank. The customer service and friendly employees use to be so great but NOW I WILL NEVER GO BACK. And I will post on the local tropical Fish forum what a horrible person is currently running this store. This store is my go to store, sure every store has sick fish but it is up to you to observe that before you buy, if you don't know what you are doing then don't buy, simple as that.they get deliveries and unfortunately some come in sick but I know they medicate the fish and for the most part all of them are healthy.they give great advice, they also have great prices. I came in here last week because of the great reviews here on yelp. But when I walked in I was fairly disappointed. I came in looking for fresh water plants and some possible freshwater fish. They had only two small tanks for the plants and they were in poor health and covered top to bottom in algae. The fresh water fish tanks had dead fish sunk to the bottom left and right. There were some positives though. They seem to have a decent selection of fake plants (if you're into that) and the friendly guy at the back of the store who said hi to me knee deep in buckets of changing water as opposed to the other three who were having some sort of store meeting in the middle of the filter isle where I was browsing. read more

Fish prices are overall excellent in comparison to everywhere else. I would like to give some examples of the prices that I have seen. They carry a wide size range of Discus ranging from 1.5"-2" for $12.00! 3-4" around $30-35 5-6" around $60-80. So if you want to grow out Discus to save money they have the really small ones. African cichlids Yellow labs, Elongontus, Johannis 3-4 inches are $4.00. 4-5" around $10-15. Small Rainbow Sharks and Red Tail Black Sharks $2.00 each!!! Neon Tetras $1.00 each Rummy Nose Tetras $1.50 each. Plus, you can always negotiate with them if you buy alot or you are a frequent customer. This store is great with the fish prices but the filters and heaters are a little on the high side. The store has a problem with ventilation so it gets kinda hot in the aisles. They try to remedy this with fans. Pros- Great fish prices mostly freshwater Cons- Air circulation, filters, heaters on the higher than normal side. This last note. This place is good for kids just as long as their parents are PARENTS. This means watch your children at all times and DO NOT let your children run, scream and most important bang on the tanks!!! read more
