Chicken bone in chimichanga - discovered in my mouth after taking a bite. Not good. Prices are super inflated for food that was almost as good as other local Texmex places. Service was fine - the servers are maybe too attentive if anything. What's with the lights pulsing to the music - that was irritating. My friends in Texas took to to have dinner at Cactus Canyon. The modern interior decor was chic, just a tab bit dark. A very night club feel for dinner. Ordered the taco al carbon, the steak was flavorful and blended well with the sauce. We had also orders the queso for appetizer that we ate up with basket full of chips. Great greeting at front door with the hostess. She asked if we were celebrating anything and we said yes, my wife's birthday. They seated us with a decorative lighted bottle to let our server know we were celebrating a birthday. (More on that later) Very dark inside. Takes a minute for your eyes to adjust. My 88 yr old mother in law almost tripped because she couldn't see where she was going. Service started out fantastic and diminished quickly toward the end. We basically loss our waiter after the food was served. There was no birthday amenity. Why put the bottle out if there is no birthday offer? Acoustics are bad and customer chatter is so loud you can't carry on a dinner conversation. Overpriced food that you can get at an authentic Mexican restaurant for a fraction of the price. Searched for local restaurants since we are moving to the area and came across Cactus Canyon!! I was going to join the wait list ahead of time but there was no wait. When we arrived, we were seated. Inside is dimly but nice decor. Service was great - our server told us the off menu specials. We had the egg roll starter such was really good. I got the frozen espresso martini and hubby got a margarita. Both were really good - I'm not a big drinker and the martini definitely had me a little giddy, lol!!! Between the four of us, we had the brisket quesadillas, fajita beef quesadillas, enchiladas, and chimichanga. Everyone enjoyed their food so we ended with dessert that we all shared. We have enjoyed two dinners at Cactus Canyon thus far and are going again soon with friends. The ambience is stellar, especially for the location. A true hidden gem! First of all, they have one of the best margaritas around with the "not a Karen-Rita"... Cadillac marg. Their poblano queso is also a 10 out of 10. The Carne Asada was seasoned beautifully and so was the Birria consume. However, the birria meat was chunky and the Carne Asada was chewy. I had the fajita beef nachos second time around and that beef was perfect. They need to triple the amount of beans on the nachos; it was not even a smear. I'm not a big fan of their chips or their salsa, but my husband thinks they're great. (Nacho chips are different and better IMO) The bar is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting there at our second visit. Our bartender, (receipt says "fake b" as her name), was very knowledgeable about tequilas. Gannon was our server in the dining area. He's incredible! There are plenty of great young servers, hostesses, and bussers; pls tip well! They have separate allergy menus. Great food aside from overall ambiance! Steak fajitas and poblano queso are fantastic but over priced for Argyle. My biggest complaint is the complete darkness inside and club-like atmosphere. Even the patio is completely enclosed (no view of outside?) and pitch dark. I always love the food here, I literally always enjoy the food it's so amazing. I ate the 8oz filet is was soooooo good and juicy. Make sure to get the fried Kayote and ask for ranch on the side! The asparagus is also top notch with that butter sauce they give you, I am getting hungry thinking about it... The service is always great from the circle star brand team shoutout to Ashton, Gannon, and Robbie for great service for the 3 times I've been here. Management is great also, the man with the bald head is awesome he replenished a salad that was accidentally taken off our table early that was so kind and thoughtful SORRY for not remembering your name. Shoutout to Kay and Chris for being great managers as well!!! The ambiance is very very nice, of course it's ARGYLE TEXAS so people dress very casual, but I like to dress nice here. It is a nice establishment after all, sandals and hats don't really make sense... I think prices are good especially considering prices you're finding at other places, that's inflation for you! I'm glad I went once but I probably won't search this place out again. There are too many other great Tex-Mex restaurants that are way cheaper and just better tasting. I guess they figured that since they're on the pricey side of town they could charge more for mediocre food. I mean it's not bad but it's not great. Crispy tacos are kind of a hard thing to mess up but they did. Tried to be "fancy" with some weird spicing and it just didn't work at all. Walked in for a table of two on a busy night, and seated right away. The parking lot was full, the bar seating was scarce, but they had a booth ready with 0 wait. Our waitress Kailyn??? was phenomenal. Best service i've had anywhere in a long time. If she didn't stop by, her manager, or other wait staff was there to serve and check in. Awesome and they found a way to be attentive and let us enjoy our time Food and drink, really good. The best fajitas i've ever had, that beef was incredible. We shared the Canyon Combo (chicken, beef, bacon wrapped shrimp). The beef was flavorful and tender. We traded the peppers in favor of portobello mushrooms. The chicken was really good too. The queso options were really good with a mixture of cheeses, beef, and other mix-ins. The drink menu was extensive as well. We ordered the house margarita and not a Karen margarita, i added a mezcal old fashioned and my wife had a clear margarita. All were top notch. Then we had the 5 layer ice cream cake with crushed pistachios and waffle cones and Ooey Gooey ice cream. I hesitate to mention this because i doubt surprise free dessert is something that happens regularly, but we were completely full and taking home leftovers when this arrived and we had no problems making room for it. Cactus Canyon is currently our favorite dining spot at the moment. Since opening, we eat here on average twice a month, my husband always mixes it up on his choices, but his favorite is the Filet Enchiladas, i order the combo fajitas with beef, chicken and shrimp and will say it's more than enough food for two people to split. The Not a Karen Margarita is perfect, and now that we discovered the filet queso, we order it every time, even though it's way too much for just 2 people. Service is top notch, food is really good, and the location is perfect for us. If you have not tried this place, you must. We were greeted immediately at the entrance and again at the hostess stand by friendly, smiling staff. After a brief wait for a table, we were seated and ready to enjoy the evening. The space is clean, modern and welcoming. Once seated, our server promptly took drink orders for three adults and one little one, and the chips and salsa arrived shortly after. The warm salsa was flavorful, but mild--our server quickly resolved that with a spicy verde salsa that hit the spot. This Marty B's restaurant is incredibly well-managed and laser-focused on service. We had no fewer than five visits from three different managers throughout the meal. Despite the buzz of activity (numerous greeters, food runners, and attentive servers), it never felt overwhelming--just incredibly polished and efficient. We started with the poblano queso, which was absolutely fantastic. The spicy margaritas? Delicious, especially with their four salt options--be sure to ask about them. For entrees, we shared steak fajitas and a combination plate, both cooked to perfection. Even my picky grandson devoured his steak quesadilla--a small miracle! The price point is a little high, but that won't keep me away. For 3 adults and one 4-year-old, our bill was $150 + tip. With this level of service and quality, it's absolutely worth it. Fajita Combo (for two): $48 I forget how much the delicious queso blanco appetizer was, but the serving was barely enough for four people. The fajitas had more onions and peppers than protein. Been to this location several times now and it's very consistent. Slightly upscale but have seen lots casual dressed. I wouldn't go anything less than jeans and a nice shirt. It's loud inside and usually packed. Entry is opposite the main parking lot so if you park on the west side it's closer to entry. Staff is always on point. They are friendly and helpful. My favorite is the filet fajitas. Only place I can find that serves them. That are tender and perfect. Cocktails are excellent and the margaritas are bomb. I go for a horntios black and it's perfect. Prices are a bit high for Tex mex but it's elevated ingredients so I'm ok with that. Great date night place fantastic food and service. We have never been to Marty Bs, as we are not in tune with their political views, so I had nothing to which to compare Cactus Canyon, as so many others have in their reviews. But first let me say this restaurant is stunning! Very modern and dark, with loud but fun music playing. We went late on a Sunday, and it wasn't crowded. The service was exceptional and much more professional than other restaurants in the area. The three of us sat in a booth in the bar area. My daughter is pregnant, and they had a few mocktails for her to choose from. My other daughter and I got frozen margaritas, which were delicious. We started with the rich and savory poblano queso, which was utterly different from regular queso but very good. We then shared fajita beef quesadillas, fish tacos, and chicken fajitas. All were incredibly good and made with quality ingredients. The fish tacos were some of the best we've ever had, and the quesadilla was loaded with beef. This restaurant is not inexpensive, but the food and atmosphere match the cost. I understand they have a waitlist for busy weekend evenings, which is fantastic as there are not a lot of upscale restaurants in the area. The restaurant itself is also very nice inside. The lighting, decor, and music was very pleasant. The only complaint we had was our waiter. He was not very friendly. When we asked what he recommended between three specific dishes to split he responded "you can split anything". He also seemed like he just wanted us to get our check and leave near the end of our visit. We will be back, but hope to have a bit better service experience for a Marty B's restaurant. read more

Refried beans, which you would assume is just like every other Mexican restaurant is anything but that. Definitely THE BEST refried beans any of us had ever had!!! Side salad was great. Cilantro dressing was good but get it with a side of their chimichurri. Oh my.... Chorizo mac n cheese was another star. I don't like chorizo but this was the best ever!All the drinks we ordered were also on point. Dessert we got the sopapilla cheesecake. Meh- it was just cheesecake with caramel. Still good but we wanted the layers and more traditional. I got the frozen espresso martini for dessert and it was also the best! Ended up getting another to go for later. The true winner of the night was our server, Zach. He busted his a$$ and was so personable! Best service we've had in a long time!! The mgr, Kay (I think?!?!) also came by to check on us a few times.
