This spot is absolutely adorable, and we'll definitely be back. Next time, though, we'll stick to the basics. Our server, Sophia, was fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, and very helpful throughout the meal. My husband ordered the antipasto salad, which was loaded with meat and cheese. It actually could have used a little more lettuce, but it was generous enough for two people to share. I ordered the veal parmigiana, and unfortunately, I was disappointed. The menu didn't mention that it was made with breaded veal patties rather than actual pounded and breaded veal. Had I known that, I never would have ordered it. To me, that's a very important distinction and something that should be clearly stated on the menu. I should have realized when the veal on the plate was completely circular and both pieces looked exactly the same . We also enjoyed a limoncello cocktail, and my husband was happy with the large mugs of Peroni for $8. The bread served before the meal was hot, fresh, and wonderfully yeasty. Overall, the atmosphere is charming, the service was excellent, and there were definitely things we enjoyed. We'll return, but we'll be sticking with the more traditional menu items next time. read more

Bella Italia Bistro had been on our list to try, so we stopped by on a Thursday evening. It wasn't very busy, and while waiting to be seated, we could see the inside had a nice, cozy ambiance. We chose to sit outside on the patio since the weather was great--but unfortunately, that's where things started to go downhill. The ambient Italian music was playing so loudly that I could barely hear myself think, let alone have a conversation with the person sitting across from me. Service was... fine. Our server was polite and did her job, but nothing stood out. The host, on the other hand, seemed visibly annoyed that we asked to sit outside, as it meant he had to clean off a table for us. As for the food, it was honestly very underwhelming. Everything ranged from mediocre to bland. We ordered salads, cheese bread, a "Tour of Italy," chicken parmesan, and cheese ravioli. The cheese bread looked like something my eight-year-old could have made--but surprisingly, it was probably the best thing we had. The sauces across the dishes were extremely bland, almost like they came straight out of a can. At one point, I'm pretty sure my ravioli were burned on the bottom. For the price, the quality just didn't match up at all--it felt overpriced for what we got. I remember reading another review that said this place is rated well simply because there's nothing else like it nearby, and honestly, that felt spot on. This seems like a case of convenience over quality. If you're really craving good Italian food, I'd recommend making the short drive to Highland Village and eating elsewhere. Great little Italian spot in Northlake. The service is nice, our server Santos was great, and the atmosphere is kind of rustic upscale. To start we had pink lemonade, bread, garlic parmesan oil, and stuffed mushrooms with alfredo (not all at the same time). The bread was amazing, and the garlic parmesan oil had a great flavor - the oil was good quality. In truth, if we had just gotten bread and two orders of the stuffed mushrooms, that might have been the way to go. lol They were divine. For our entrees we had angel hair with vodka sauce and chicken, and the sausage pepper parmigiana. The vodka sauce was good, but the chicken was pretty dry. They might boil their chicken breasts first and then sear them later, it was a little rubbery. That's fine, can get around that, but it was really under seasoned. Could use a nice brine or olive oil marinade, but if it's boiled, that might be tricky. The sausage pepper parmigiana was delicious. The sausage was good by itself, but with the onions, peppers, mushrooms and marinara, it was great. This is pretty far from where we live, definitely outside our "bubble", but we might come back from time to time just to have the bread and alfredo covered stuffed mushrooms. We were recommended this spot by a friend. He wouldn't shut up about it. Gave it a try today for lunch. Arrived at 1:30 pm and it was pretty quiet inside. Nice patio section and the weather was good so we sat outside. Our waiter Santos was the one man show, bartender, host and waiter. He was awesome and took care of us even though we were the only ones on the patio. I had the lunch portion of chicken Alfredo and it was the perfect portion size! Everything was fresh including the grated cheese on the included salad. My wife had the lunch Chicken Piccata and it was soooo good! We both enjoyed the flavors and freshness of the meal. The place feels upscale but the prices were not over the top. We will definitely be back! read more

Ambiance is decent. Walked in for a to go dessert after being disappointed at another establishment in Northlake Commons.. Is the rent there too high? Literally the second place today that has manipulated the portions so much that I actually thought it was a joke or mistake. Got the lemoncello cake and tiramisu.. look at this pic! I had the eggplant parmigiana and it was very good. My dad use to make this and theirs was just a bit better. My wife had the chicken cacciatore and the chicken wasn't as tender as it should be but still tasty. This is not Olive Garden style food. The spaghetti was very good and was served on the side of my egg plant. I would give this a try. read more

Beautiful family owned Italian restaurant. Dimly lit beautiful ambience. The sauce is made to order and authentic. I love the pesto tortellini and my husband loves the seafood linguine or the homemade Alfredo sauce. They make a delicious Italian margarita as well. It's just not great. I think being the only game in town is their saving grace. Just another below average Italian style place with mediocre service. Pizza crust is bad. Portions are small. Service is ok. But it has the decent ambiance and Harvest moms and dads can have a half assed date night and be home before the kids go to bed. read more

Went for lunch. Had a great experience. My brother had the Chicken Alfredo, which not only looked great, he said it was terrific. I had the Chicken Marsala, which was fantastic! There was only one server working on this Sunday afternoon. But he hustled and was very attentive. The restaurant is clean and has both indoor and patio seating, which will be great when it begins to cool down. This clam linguine was buttery, delicious, and super fresh. The sauce was light but packed with flavor, and the clams tasted really clean. Definitely one of the better seafood pastas I've had in a while. read more

The food was wonderful! I had the peppers, sausage and onion pasta. It was really flavorful. My husband had the baked ziti that was really good. Bella Italia has grown on me in the times we have gone. At first we went because it was the closest nice restaurant to our house. Now, we actually select it as a "comfort food" location when we need a good meal at a reasonable price. This is not a fancy Italian place by any means. It is a good neighborhood establishment. Service is always decent, but not outstanding. Wine list is okay at best. But food is always consistent for us. My latest favorite dish is the Chicken Murphy, a unique dish of chicken and pasta with a sauce of garlic, mushrooms, onions and jalapenos in a pink sauce. This is a really unique flavor combination that has a little heat but nothing that overpowers the chicken or the rest of the sauce. It comes with a small side or Caesar salad. My wife alternates between the Manicotti and the Cannelloni, each of which she says hold their own with most restaurants, but nothing unusual or outstanding - like I said, comfort food. I also had the Minestrone last visit for the first time and it was quite flavorful, although a bit salty. We have ordered pizza to go here multiple times and it is good. So, nice neighborhood restaurant, but not worth a special trip from very far if there are also Italian restaurants in your area. This is a bit of a mixed review. First off, let me clarify we did take out. I did not get the chance to eat in, so I cannot review on the location itself. Frutti de Mare: if you love seafood and you love spice, this is your plate! The mix of mussels, clams, shrimp,scallops, pasta, and spicy sauce is perfect. I give it a 5 out of 5 Beef Lasagna: My husband ordered this dish. He says it is lacking some taste ( a bit bland). For a to go order there was a decent size slice in the container. He said 3 out of 5. Bread: I love bread, but unfortunately there was no buttery or garlic taste to the bread at all. It was stale. Honestly looked like a hot dog bun. I would definitely say that the bread needs to be soft and fresh. 0 out of 5 Salad: we didn't eat. It just looked like gigantic piece of Romaine, 1 slice of a tomato, a handful of mozzarella cheese ( and came with the wrong dressing). The food is very good. It has a nice atmosphere. I like that it is family owned so they take pride in their business.

My wife went to have dinner. We were the first people in waiting lobby. It was freezing cold outside and we had to wait by door. We asked for table for two. The person said it would be a wait. Three sets of three people came in after us. The host sat each and everyone to three separate tables set for four. So we are freezing cold and have been waiting 20 minutes, so I ask to speak to manager. He sad it was his policy. I said give me table now, don't care of it is set for two , four, six or twenty. He said don't be rude. I said rude, it sitting me and my wife was rude. I turned to walk out and he said wait, I will sit you here. He never apologized, nothing offered for free like an appetizer!! If we were not starving I would have told him to jump off a bridge. At the end of the dinner, he came to our table to ask how I he food was. I said you are the worst manager owner of m the planet.
