Love this place. Food is great, atmosphere and music are perfect. The owners and staff are pleasant.

I hate leaving negative reviews, especially for a local business we really wanted to support. We've given this place four chances, hoping each visit would be better, but unfortunately this last experience will probably be our final one. The food has been mediocre at best, especially considering the prices. On my most recent visit, I ordered the ravioli and received three large ravioli for $17. The sauce arrived piping hot, but the filling inside the ravioli was cold. Overall, it tasted more like something that had been frozen and reheated than a freshly prepared dish. My husband ordered the antipasto salad, and the ham was noticeably gray and tasted off. We sent it back because it didn't seem right and it ended up upsetting his stomach. To be fair, he had ordered the same salad on a previous visit and enjoyed it, so this may have simply been an off night. The bright spot was the manager, who handled the situation professionally. She apologized, offered to make my husband something else, even as a to-go order, and removed the salad from our bill when he declined. We appreciated her response and customer service. Unfortunately, one good interaction isn't enough to outweigh the overall experience. The drinks have never impressed us given the prices, and the food has consistently fallen short of expectations. We truly wanted this to become one of our regular neighborhood spots because of its convenient location, but we've decided it's just not a place we'll be returning to. read more

Bella Italia Bistro had been on our list to try, so we stopped by on a Thursday evening. Our server was polite and did her job, but nothing stood out. The host, on the other hand, seemed visibly annoyed that we asked to sit outside, as it meant he had to clean off a table for us. As for the food, it was honestly very underwhelming. Everything ranged from mediocre to bland. We ordered salads, cheese bread, a "Tour of Italy," chicken parmesan, and cheese ravioli. The cheese bread looked like something my eight-year-old could have made--but surprisingly, it was probably the best thing we had. The sauces across the dishes were extremely bland, almost like they came straight out of a can. At one point, I'm pretty sure my ravioli were burned on the bottom. For the price, the quality just didn't match up at all--it felt overpriced for what we got. I remember reading another review that said this place is rated well simply because there's nothing else like it nearby, and honestly, that felt spot on. This seems like a case of convenience over quality. If you're really craving good Italian food, I'd recommend making the short drive to Highland Village and eating elsewhere. Serve food as advertised. In my opinion this is not a true Italian restaurant. I ordered fruitti de mare it was not what I expected. There were no clams, and the scallops were bay scallops. I hate leaving this kind of review, but it felt needed. My mom and I were so excited to have dinner here since we live so close! I could tell our waitress was a sweet girl, but my goodness was the service ROUGH. I ordered a popular drink--they did not have, perfectly fine with me! Asked for a different drink, was given something else. We weren't given our bread, and had to ask a different waitress for some after I meal came out. Great little Italian spot in Northlake. The service is nice, our server Santos was great, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere is kind of rustic upscale.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To start we had pink lemonade, bread, garlic parmesan oil, and stuffed mushrooms with alfredo (not all at the same time). The bread was amazing, and the garlic parmesan oil had a great flavor - the oil was good quality. In truth, if we had just gotten bread and two orders of the stuffed mushrooms, that might have been the way to go. lol They were divine. For our entrees we had angel hair with vodka sauce and chicken, and the sausage pepper parmigiana. The vodka sauce was good, but the chicken was pretty dry. They might boil their chicken breasts first and then sear them later, it was a little rubbery. That's fine, can get around that, but it was really under seasoned. Could use a nice brine or olive oil marinade, but if it's boiled, that might be tricky. The sausage pepper parmigiana was delicious. The sausage was good by itself, but with the onions, peppers, mushrooms and marinara, it was great. This is pretty far from where we live, definitely outside our "bubble", but we might come back from time to time just to have the bread and alfredo covered stuffed mushrooms. We were recommended this spot by a friend. He wouldn't shut up about it. Gave it a try today for lunch. He was awesome and took care of us even though we were the only ones on the patio. I had the lunch portion of chicken Alfredo and it was the perfect portion size! Everything was fresh including the grated cheese on the included salad. My wife had the lunch Chicken Piccata and it was soooo good! We both enjoyed the flavors and freshness of the meal. My wife had the chicken cacciatore and the chicken wasn't as tender as it should be but still tasty. This is not Olive Garden style food. It's just not great. I think being the only game in town is their saving grace. Just another below average Italian style place with mediocre service. Pizza crust is bad. Portions are small. Went for lunch. Had a great experience. My brother had the Chicken Alfredo, which not only looked great, he said it was terrific. I had the Chicken Marsala, which was fantastic! There was only one server working on this Sunday afternoon. But he hustled and was very attentive. The restaurant is clean and has both indoor and patio seating, which will be great when it begins to cool down. Bella Italia has grown on me in the times we have gone. At first we went because it was the closest nice restaurant to our house. Now, we actually select it as a "comfort food" location when we need a good meal at a reasonable price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is not a fancy Italian place by any means. It is a good neighborhood establishment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is always decent, but not outstanding. Wine list is okay at best. But food is always consistent for us. My latest favorite dish is the Chicken Murphy, a unique dish of chicken and pasta with a sauce of garlic, mushrooms, onions and jalapenos in a pink sauce. This is a really unique flavor combination that has a little heat but nothing that overpowers the chicken or the rest of the sauce. It comes with a small side or Caesar salad. My wife alternates between the Manicotti and the Cannelloni, each of which she says hold their own with most restaurants, but nothing unusual or outstanding - like I said, comfort food. I also had the Minestrone last visit for the first time and it was quite flavorful, although a bit salty. We have ordered pizza to go here multiple times and it is good. So, nice neighborhood restaurant, but not worth a special trip from very far if there are also Italian restaurants in your area. This is a bit of a mixed review. First off, let me clarify we did take out. I did not get the chance to eat in, so I cannot review on the location itself. Frutti de Mare: if you love seafood and you love spice, this is your plate! The mix of mussels, clams, shrimp,scallops, pasta, and spicy sauce is perfect. I give it a 5 out of 5 Beef Lasagna: My husband ordered this dish. He says it is lacking some taste ( a bit bland). For a to go order there was a decent size slice in the container. He said 3 out of 5. Bread: I love bread, but unfortunately there was no buttery or garlic taste to the bread at all. It was stale. Honestly looked like a hot dog bun. I would definitely say that the bread needs to be soft and fresh. 0 out of 5 Salad: we didn't eat. It just looked like gigantic piece of Romaine, 1 slice of a tomato, a handful of mozzarella cheese ( and came with the wrong dressing).
