This restaurant is located in the Ramada Inn (next to The Cutting Board), and was formerly O'Hara's Restaurant. This restaurant is run by the same folks as Grill 584 (Koury Corporation, I think), and is under the direction of the chef there, David Katz - who was at the late, lamented Boss Hogg in Greensboro, and some time at Bullock's BBQ in Durham. They are offering an dinner menu that is strong on smoked meats - Hand Pulled Pork (basically Eastern NC style with some nice heat), BBQ Chicken, Smoked Turkey Breast, Texas Style Brisket, and "Smackin Good' St Louis Style Ribs, and a number of nice sides. They offer wine and have a decent beer selection. Only non-BBQ meat on the menu is Fried Chicken Livers - this is a BBQ joint setup. The meats are featured in Take Out Specials - pint of Pork BBQ for $9.95, pound of brisket for $12.95, whole smoked BBQ Chicken for $9.95. Sides are available as well. I've only tried the Pork BBQ, and it is every bit as good as that that was served at Boss Hogg - solid Eastern NC style, with some very nice heat. Looking forward to trying the other meats, especially the Brisket and Chicken. Dinner is Tue - Sat, 5 to 9. They offer a small lunch buffet, Mon thru Friday - 11AM to 2PM, for $7.49, including drink, and small salad bar. The items vary from day to day, but include Fried Chicken (very, very good, if a little salty), Chicken Pot Pie, Country Style Steak, Spaghetti, Baked Chicken, BBQ Pork, BBQ Chicken, Fried Fish (Friday), and Baked Salmon. The meats are pretty good to ordinary - the Fried Chicken is very good, the BBQ Pork is not the style served at night - covered with a sweet, tomato sauce. The veggies are ordinary to plain bad - canned or frozen, and poorly seasoned. But the meats are generally worth the price, as is the salad bar. read more

This is a buffet. On Monday they have sauerkraut and sausage. You can't get sauerkraut at any restaurant I know of. They have fried chicken, green beans, among other vegetables, biscuits and corn bread. I don't know what they have other days cause I go Monday just to get sauerkraut. They have banana pudding, rice pudding and chocolate something everyday for dessert. Also chicken and dumplings and fish other days. I checked out this fine establishment a week ago. They have great prices on alcohol and food. I was served by Misty and the owners Dave and Morgan. Misty was a very nice lady, easy to talk to, down to earth as hell, and took great care of me. Dave and Morgan are super nice and on top of their game. I live in the San Francisco bay area, so I was just passing through. I sure do wish that we had a place like that, with people that hospitable here. This is a new place (or at least a re-launched place) in Burlington. My husband heard it recently opened, so we decided to give it a try. Never again! First of all the place is a wanna-be Barbecue joint. Everything on the menu is barbecue oriented. Brisket, pork, chicken, turkey, chicken livers, mac and cheese, potato salad, etc. I'm not a huge BBQ fan, but my husband is. I was shocked when I saw there were no non-BBQ options on the menu. It's fairly small inside and there was a table of about 15-20 people at the far end of the restaurant. There weren't many other people, so there was adequate waitstaff to deal with the customers. I ordered a turkey breast meal of "smoked turkey" with a side of cornbread and mac & cheese. It was terrible. The food tasted as though it had been made in a school cafeteria. The turkey was dry and rubbery. The mac and cheese was a neon color and didn't taste like an ounce of real cheese went into the dish. The cornbread was ok, but nothing to write home about. My husband said the pork was pretty good, but the brisket was tough and leathery. One of my husband's favorite foods is potato salad. He left almost all of it on the plate, if that tells you how it was. The waitress asked if everything was alright and we told her we didn't care for most of the meal. She apologized, but never made further inquiries. Someone, I suppose a manager, because he never identified himself, asked if we wanted to "box everything up" about 10 or 15 minutes after the waitress came to the table. I told him absolutely not, and he whisked away the plates and brought us the bill. There were multiple people standing behind the bar who were not dressed as servers. I imagine these were managers of some type. Not one offered to rectify the situation or offer any other alternatives. They didn't even apologize for the meal. Instead, they stood behind the bar, pointing and whispering. I worked for many years in customer service, so I am slow to complain in a public forum. However, the service and food at this establishment were so far below par that I feel it is necessary to warn others before you spend your money and time at this establishment. The personnel here definitely weren't interested in creating repeat customers. I definitely will not step into this establishment again. There are too many good, local places who care about their customers to tolerate this type of eatery. read more

Great place for lunch buffet. Down-home cooking. It's good food, especially for the price. Ample seating with big TVs. Parking is not that great, but normally you can find a spot that's not too far way. Easy access from I-40. read more
