Best bar on the eastside for sure. Best overall bar I should say. 5 pool tables, countless picnic benches. On any given night of the week you might find punk rock young people playing fun games to working actors and models frolicking the outside.. Ren seems to lead the security and is a real cool guy. Mouse and Olaf are my favorite bartenders. Every time I come I am greeted with love from staff and regulars. I deff would recommend to anyone looking to have a good time whilst visiting Silverlake!

My pal brett in front of the door being closed 40 mins prior to bar closure. Tab unpayable.

Fun little bar with pool tables and very chill vibe. The prices aren't bad. Nice spot to hangout with some friends and get cheap drinks

They found us a seat w/o a proper reservation, and the place was lively. Ordered the hummingbird, which was unexpectedly herbaceous. Tangy with smoky undertones. Refreshing. I quite enjoyed it. The husband got the bellhop, which he said was fine but not mind blowing. We ordered the Chicken liver toast, fried mozzarella, and chicken sandwich hot and spicy. The husband got the mussels. Chicken liver toast was served w mustard seed and berry compote, which highlighted the buttery fatness. The toast wasn't crunchy and a bit difficult to cut, but the pickled vegetables were fantastic. The fried mozzarella was simple and decently executed, somewhat generic and forgettable. Better than standard mozzarella sticks. The fries were crisp and perfectly seasoned. A+. That chicken sandwich was toothsome and juicy. Def worthy of a repeat visit. I'll be thinking abt this sandwich for a while. Of his mussels, the husband appreciated the spicy broth but was underwhelmed by the crusty bread it accompanied. I had a wonderful experience personally, hence the 4 stars, but proceed with caution.

The food is probably what would bring me back here. Few things about the scene - it looks cleaner in the photos than it looks/feels in person. The entrance door is open which invites a natural breeze, but it also invites flies. We sat all the way on the inside of the restaurant and flies were still helping themselves. Tables and seats are worn. When we went, some parts were sticky. I checked out another table and felt something similar, so I just tried to make myself as comfortable as possible by not moving from my seat. Service was not the best. Maybe it's because there were two of us, but we almost received no attention here. It felt like the waiters were more interested in people at the bar, so we had to flag down a few different waiters that were coming in and out of the kitchen for some help.

Normally mixing wines can leave me with a headache the next day, but the bartenders paired everything so thoughtfully that the wines complemented each other beautifully, and I felt great afterward. I can't wait to return and experience both the food and wine together next time. Highly recommend!

And over time, this place has always had a fun vibe and reasonably priced drinks. The folks here seem to always be friendly as well. Even after all these years, this place could still get pretty crowded (the space isn't huge so that helps). They also have the Dodgers games on when available so that's great if you want to grab a drink in the area and don't want to miss the game. On my most recent trip, I came here after having dinner with a couple of friends in the area for a after dinner drink/ night cap. Ordered the martini and it was good! He was friendly, welcoming, and gave us a great first impression. However, our experience afterward was disappointing. We waited nearly 20 minutes to be seated and another 20-30 minutes before anyone took our order. I understand that restaurants get busy, and we were trying to be patient because we could see the staff was overwhelmed. When we finally got our beer, I told our server, Noah, that I could pour it myself if that would help. Instead of explaining the situation politely, he responded with attitude and said, "You know I can't serve you guys, right?" I apologized, but then he told us, "Nah, you guys have to leave." This was frustrating after waiting so long just to place an order. We were never rude or disrespectful to the staff, so the interaction felt unprofessional and unnecessary. I completely understand being busy, but customer service should still be respectful. Unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression despite the great welcome we received from Nate.
