Cute as heck!!! Amazing selection, fantastic and knowledgable bartenders, the vibes were on par and just a cool hangout. They have a huge selection of ciders from all around. The bartender was so sweet and let us sample some as well until we landed on our desired. The place is so cute with its decorations and interior design. However its tinyyyy. Even though there's outdoor seating anticipate this place to get packed or even feel packed even at under capacity. Its an intimate setting that I think does best with its neighborhood bar environment and drinks for a first date but i wouldnt exactly bring all the girls here you know? I would say while they have food and snacks here its not their priority and a bit on the pricer side so I would say at the end of the day this place is a proper bar. Parking: It does suck I'm not going to lie to you Huge shoutout to the george foreman grill in the back! So chic. Know you were a huge talking point during my experience. If this place was closer I'd definitely go back and go often but know im for sure recommending it! read more

Alma's is such a gem! Came through on a Monday for trivia night (and won, no big deal) and had an awesome time. The vibe is cute and quirky--definitely one of those places that feels like a neighborhood hangout in the best way. The cider and craft beer list is stacked--lots of unique options, and everything we tried was solid. The smoked mackerel was a standout: super flavorful and served on a plate that made the whole experience fun and memorable. It is a smaller spot, and there was only one bartender holding it down, so things got a little busy at times, but the staff was super friendly and handled it like pros. Definitely recommend swinging by on a Monday if you're looking for good drinks, good vibes, and a little healthy trivia competition. read more

We had just built up a thirst climbing the relatively close Laurel and Hardy Music Box Stairs. We are casual cider fans, but you don't need to be an expert to enjoy yourself. They have offerings for the novice to the aficionado. This place is clean and friendly. Although we had nothing to eat, the food looked great. This is a real treat. read more

The type of neighborhoody vibey place I love! The beers here are so good. There are food items available too. Service is friendly and super attentive. It's like my glass was always full somehow! It's small but there's seating in side and outside. My only complaint is you must park on the street of you drive there. Highly recommend carpooling, or if you're nearby, being a pedestrian. read more

Isaac Newton once observed an apple falling from a tree and came up with the theory of gravity. What the tale doesn't include is the second apple that fell from the tree and landed in East Hollywood in the form of a quaint neighborhood cider location with over 100 ciders in rotation. This establishment feels like a hidden gem and should remain one. Between the snack sized plates that are fixed behind the bar or the miniature town built into the window ledge or surprising cider flavors (strawberry, rhubarb, yuzu, ginger, smoky, horseradish??!!, apple... duh), this bar could be the worlds finest cider experience. We went there again the other day, and this place is just awesome. They have such an amazing selection of ciders that you won't find anywhere else, great beers, phenomenal service, and a perfect vibe. The decor is incredible, and we met Lee who did the miniatures inside of the sidebar top. So cool. What a great guy who gives insanely great service. We will be back soon. read more

There is nothing more to say about Alma's that hasn't been said already. The interior is done by one of my favorite interior design groups shout out to @design_bitches, but the owner has also put a lot of nice personal touches. This cider bar offers a very wide range of selections, truly something for everyone, but it's the staff and their knowledge of cider that puts it over the top for me. I don't love being there when it's too crowded, but when you walk in and it's just a few people and the sun comes in just right - the vibe is immaculate. read more

Parking is difficult, be prepared to walk, don't even try to find a spot near, go to Santa Monica near Vermont and walk. Neighborhood is a bit sketch. And there is a homeless guy living in a wooden box and his car right outside the bar. Like a few feet from where you sit outside. They have security but it's a bit weird. Good spot nevertheless if you are into cider. I would have given 5 stars if not for that homeless guy ambiance. read more

This bar will definitely overwhelm you with their wide selection of ciders, but fear not, the bartenders will happily guide you through the menu and help find the perfect cider for you. This is the cutest little cider house I have ever seen. Small but really good vibe. The bartender was extremely knowledgeable and gave great recommendations to try. They have tap, cans, and even bottles. I think beer and maybe wine too. I came for the cider, which was the most interesting flavors of cider I have ever tried. I don't visit LA often but I know I will be back here next trip. read more

YESSSS!!!! This is everything I want a bar to be. This is by far my new favorite spot to hang out in LA. Our bartender went above and beyond with explaining the different styles of cider and gave us excellent recommendations. We and the other patrons even got to try a new sample of a new cider they received. The ambience is unmatched. It feels so cozy and intimate. I can't wait to go again and take some friends. I'm very tempted to write a scathing review of Alma's, one so bad no one in their right mind would even consider giving them their custom. Why? Because I want to keep this bijou little tavern as much of a secret as possible, a secret only I know where a barstool is always open for me. This new bar in Virgil Village ― that little triangle of territory south of Los Feliz, southwest of Silver Lake, north of Westlake, and east of Hollywood ― serves beer and wine, but its specialty is cider. Whether it's a still cider from northern Spain; a dry, tannic English-style cider; a semi-dry cider from New Zealand infused with exotic guava-like fruits; or a sweet Polish perry (pear cider), Alma's should have something to please the cider fan looking for something new ― along with a selection from names like Anxo and Shacksbury for those wanting something familiar. Their selection of drinks ― beer, wine, and cider ― is eclectic, unique, and fun. The atmosphere is just as good: Alma's is a bar for adults. The music is not too loud or intrusive. The walls are painted cerulean, and there are quirky art details throughout like a layer of miniature landscapes under the bar running along the window and handmade tiles in the restrooms. Add to that the proprietors' knowledge and passion for each of the products they serve, one definitely gets the impression that Alma's is not just a bar but a passion project. So while I'd love to keep Alma's my little secret, anyone who really enjoys obscure beverages in a laid-back atmosphere should pay a visit to Alma's. This is the best bar in East Hollywood hands down. It's gorgeous inside. The people who work there are lovely. They serve Bubs and Grandma's bread toasted with their cheese plates. You will get Ciders, Wine and Beers that are new to you and you will love them. And now they serve a proper Guinness. What else could you ask for? read more

The best thing in LA. Don't listen to the 1 star reviews. Especially the dude who blasted YouTube videos off of his phone speakers and wants to play victim lol. Patrick, Alice, and Lee do an amazing job taking care of their customers. They're knowledgeable, kind and genuinely care about everyone who comes into the bar. Prices are beyond fair compared to other bars. The community is also amazing. People talk to each other. Writers come here to think. The music is perfectly weird. The bathrooms are clean. Really great bar, especially for a New York hayseed like me that isn't accustomed to "floor tiles". The staff was super kind and helpful and the beer was delicious and bountiful. I LOVE mashed potatoes and only managed two bites before giving up. The red cabbage was overcooked, mushy, and had a slightly off taste. Overall, the schnitzel plate was maybe a 2/10, and those points go solely to the fact that the chicken itself was technically edible. My boyfriend's meal somehow managed to be worse. The bratwurst was fine, but tasted frozen and reheated rather than fresh. The sauerkraut, according to him, "tasted like dirty socks." The spaetzle was genuinely offensive -- mushy, overly bland, and tossed with what looked like hydrated diced mushrooms that literally tasted like dirt. I honestly questioned whether it had gone bad. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself felt dirty and had a strange smell throughout. You tell them what you like/looking for and they give you a few wines to try before deciding. The light bites are perfect for munching. The space is small enough to feel intimate but vibey enough to be your only Friday night outing. Great for dates and girls night out. And the playlist is so perfect and diverse. I'm so glad I moved closer to Covell. It will be my go-to spot.

Love the crispy bits and they're not oily, perfectly salted as well. Their Cusabi Ranch is a MUST try. I dipped both my wings and fries in them. It's a cucumber wasabi ranch dip and super refreshing!! Overall the vibe and food were great, drinks and prices excellent, and staff, even better. It was fries with a sprinkle of bulgogi. Very, very underwhelming. Kimchi bacon pasta: delish. But did not have any Korean or Asian flavor. Neither did it have any kimchi flavor. It tasted like tomato sauce mixed with heavy cream with smoked bacon flavor. Galbi: really good, but nothing great to suffice the $45 cost. Kimchi fried rice: lacked flavor. Rice cake: it's hard to mess this up; it was good as expected. Pineapple soju: my friends really enjoyed it and presentation was nice. All in all, underwhelming food, amazing ambiance. Wouldn't care to come back, but glad I tried it!
