First off, we came here because we loved the concept however it went downhill quickly. We were sat at a table with a rag on it, okay fine, I moved it. My friend ordered a wine, they were out of it. We ordered the hush puppies as an appetizer, they we're over cooked and WAY too salty. I ordered fish and chips she ordered a Philly. Neither we're seasoned. As vegans, we were SO UNBELIEVABLY EXCITED to find a place in town serving up even a single option! The Impossible Burger is so good that every craving I've ever had for a beef burger since going vegan is 100% satisfied. I challenge omnivores to try it and beg to differ! I hope next time I'm in town they have at least one more vegan option...the acorn squash was SO close, but had feta and butter baked in. We came here on a whim and are so glad we did. We started with the beet salad which was delicious! (it's heavy on the blue cheese, so keep that in mind if you order it.) Next was the mushroom ravioli with Duck Confit. It was delicious. The daily special was the shredded lamb Shepherds Pie and it was also really good. Really great food and AMAZING STAFF! They're attentive and very sweet, I'd definitely recommend if you're in the area.

First time visit to 4118 and it did not disappoint. Had the lamb tacos and the homemade tortilla shells were off the chart. Totally made the tacos! Hubs had the burger and Mac n cheese and there wasn't a bite left on his plate. He's a burger connoisseur and said it was off the charts. He had the white BBQ sauce added and it was perfect. Ryan is a great bartender as always and took great care of us. Highly recommend this place! read more

The 4118 is a great and needed addition to Highlands. Ryan and Richard opened it a bit over a year ago, and has become a place for the locals, as well as some of the more knowledgeable visitors. Adam, the chef, continually creates great new dishes that I will always be sure to try. They can get slammed at times, but even then I find it is worth the wait. read more

Really tried to like this restaurant since it's new in town. We tried the roasted chicken. They didn't say it was brined until we said it looked undercooked. It was so salty we couldn't eat. The corn served underneath however was delicious. We also tried the chicken tenders. Over breaded and was something you could get at any fast food joint. This bar is awesome and saved our Covid Thanksgiving 2020! (I know I'm 6 months late, apologies...). We stayed at the Highlands for Thanksgiving for a second year in a row, and had reservations at a restaurant on Main Street. Unfortunately, our restaurant unilaterally canceled our reservation for Thanksgiving dinner - which was not a surprise during Covid times, but still very depressing. We tried to get in other places, but everywhere was either closed or completely booked. We even asked the hotel if they had any food available and they only had cold bagels and creamer cheese for us to eat. We randomly found this bar on Google Maps, called them, and were told that they were serving free thanksgiving meals! We stopped by, and it was like walking into a happy family thanksgiving dinner. They served us our VERY GOOD thanksgiving dinner food, a couple bought everyone a round of shots, and we had a great time! Thank you for saving our Covid thanksgiving. We ate all over Highlands/Cashiers and I've been to many similar restaurants. However, 4118 Kitchen Bar has some of the best food I've ever had. Our group had the 4118 Club, Grown-Up Grilled Cheese, and Fried Chicken Sandwich. I had some of the club and grilled cheese. Both were astounding. The bacon on both was out of this world and the flavors were bold. I also have to mention the side mac 'n cheese was probably the best I've had as well. Overall, I wish we came earlier in our trip so that we could return multiple nights. read more

I wish they had a few more local beer options, but they had enough, along with other craft brews that I wasn't too disappointed. I had corn chowder with chorizo to start, with fish and chips as my meal. The soup was delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly, light crisp on the outside tender flaky cod on the inside, served with perfectly seasoned hand cut fries. Enjoyed a delicious lunch in this quiet, kind of out of the way, restaurant. Very welcoming and the food was delicious. We dined on lamb tacos, beets salad and Caesar salad with sides of Mac and cheese, broccoli and fries. I can't vouch for the fries and beet salad since I didn't taste, but everything else was delicious. The Caesar salad was excellent. Will definitely go back soon before the rest of Highlands discover this gem. read more
