What a cool little hidden German Mesa! I called ahead to ask about parking. Manager Merc was awesome. He offered to honor a coupon I had for the Tempe location so I made the drive out for convenience sake since they have easy, free parking. I'm so glad I did! I had a few hours of work to do so set up my computer at the edge of the bar and got to work while enjoying nibbles just in time to enjoy a few hours of karaoke while I had dinner. Alex behind the bar was chill, attentive and nice. I started with garlic knots. They came out piping hot like I love them. A tad well done so I might ask for more doughy next time still loved them. Pretty sure they're made of sourdough! SO good! Seasoned perfetly with a great marinera side. I then got a side caesar salad and - love that they include tomatos on their caesar. The dressing was nice and chilled. Tasted a tad more like ranch than caesar but good nonetheless. I asked for blue cheese dressing and it is DELICIOUS! Finally, I ordered a 12" red pizza and added musthrooms and basil with garlic dipping sauce on the side. Again cooked to perfection. The dough is so good! I was hoping to do some karaoke somewhere that didn't have a line or was packed like my usual go to, but we ended up not even singing because all the kids just killed the mood constantly hogging the mic with all seven of them but not like we could even sing to even if we got a chance because they didn't have a single song I asked for and after six songs I gave up you would think for how updated and nice this place is they would have a modern karaoke system, but nope lmao the food was mid standard bar food. Honestly potato fries were actually crispy, so I'll give them that since most places don't really make them crispy like they should be my friend's who got a pizza said it just tasted like some Chuck E. Cheese pizza plus the service was awful. I mean I thought it was pretty unfair for there to be one worker serving people at tables also managing the bar as it started to get a bit busy after an hour of being there it took about 20-30 minutes just to get a drink . I've been to this karaoke bar quite a few times and have always enjoyed the atmosphere, which is why this experience surprised me a bit. My friends and I came in to sing karaoke and paid to play a round of pool. We were polite and respectful and were just there to have a fun night out. At one point we were asked to leave because we hadn't purchased food or drinks during that visit. I completely understand that bars rely on those purchases and may have policies around it, and I respect that. I just wish there had been a bit more communication or a reminder beforehand, because we would have been happy to order something. What made the situation a little uncomfortable was that after we left, the staff member who asked us to go was explaining the situation to other people near the pool table, which felt a bit unnecessary and embarrassing. I've supported this bar many times in the past and have purchased drinks and food here before, so I still appreciate the place overall. I'm sharing this in hopes that situations like this could be handled with a little more communication and discretion in the future. read more

I tried out medium pizza (6 slices) and a monster cookie dessert and I can tell you that both items were lacking in flavor. I asked for no onions on my pizza but there was still onions in it somehow. This cost $32.24. Their parmesan cheese was in a bottle where the cheese was basically frozen so you can't even pour it out of the bottle; the crushed red peppers were in almost a similar type of bottle too. read more

Always on the lookout for an amazing caprese, which led us to try 414 Pub Pizza & Karaoke today. Alex was an amazing bartender who immediately greeted us, and made our visit! Thanks for taking our crazy joke of doing a song for karaoke and engaging other patrons to partake. Definitely not how I expected our Sunday afternoon to go! The caprese was served on a salad, which is not usually how I prefer but it was delicious for a mixed salad. The produce was all pretty fresh, and I definitely think was a solid salad for the price. The pasta being house made intrigued us, so we added that to our order as well. The Alfredo was delicious and the noodles were fantastic! I had some restaurant gift cards to use and 414 was on the list. I didn't realize this was a Karaoke establishment. It was around 6:30 on a weeknight. This place is off the beaten path. It is a little on the divey side, which is cool. But a majority of my experiences with dive bars is the food is usually a B+ or higher. My friend ordered their buffalo wings with blue cheese and I ordered sweet potato fries with a side of ranch. I always ask if the dressings are homemade or not and they said yes. The wings were really nothing to write home about, and the blue cheese dressing was very disappointing, however, my sweet potato fries were amazing and the ranch was top-notch. We ordered their combination pizza with "homemade" meatballs. Then we did the fettuccine with pesto, Alfredo and tomato sauce and added meatballs. The pasta was pretty decent... I wish there was just a tad more Alfredo sauce pesto was amazing. The pizza was really disappointing. The ingredients were scarce... especially the meatballs. The crust was pretty soggy in the center... I would have sent the wings and pizza back, but the food wait times were getting longer. Towards the end of our visit, a drunk person stormed in with his bicycle and was being obnoxious and the staff were kind of slow to respond. I'm always surprised when I tell people about this place and they've never heard of it. It deserves way more credit. The pizza. Can't say enough good things. I'm obsessed with their white pizza. Addictive crust so you eat more than you probably intended. Always comes out super hot right out of the oven. Tuesdays they have 1/2 off pizza! You can't beat that deal anywhere else. I'm also a pesto snob and their pesto pasta was actually good! Also, get the cannoli. Karaoke nightly! This was actually my main draw. I'm a big karaoke person and I love their setup. Some karaoke places you feel like you can't just sing whatever you're feeling. Not here! They frequently have groups of "theater kids" singing showtunes, singers choosing songs in their native tongue, etc. it's the most inclusive and positive karaoke environment I've been to--and that's saying alot cause I'm everywhere! Every DJ I've experienced runs it well and doesn't have those annoying long pauses in between songs. They keep it moving! Tip your karaoke DJ! The guy who is usually behind the bar is great. Usually wears a hat, beard I think. Super efficient and friendly without that over the top fake nice some bartenders take on. The toasty amber beer option is sooo good but we will pass on the frozen margs next time. So icy. I've been here with different groups multiple times in the past year. The highlight is definitely the karaoke here and not the food. I enjoy the variety of activities like pool and the wide spacing of the place. It's good for big groups (8+) as well. I've had the pizza in the past and it was decently good. Last night, I had the cowboy burger for with sweet potato fries. For the price, the beef was over cooked, underseasoned and dry. The buns were stale, not toasted and tasted like something that I'd find at Walmart. I was quite frankly very disappointed with the burger and was so close to sending it back but didn't want to go through the hassle of doing so. Probably the first burger I haven't finished at a restaurant this year. I hope they improve their burger soon! read more

I met with a group of people to hang out and watch the karaoke performers. Someone mentioned that they had good pizza, so I was looking forward to trying some. I got there at 6pm and ordered a beer. The karaoke stage was large and the DJ seemed pretty cool. Several international laws would be broken if I even attempted to sing within earshot of a living being, so it's something I don't participate in. I opened a tab thinking that I'd be buying a few drinks and food throughout the evening. Well... no so much. I could NOT get the attention of my server at all. She never came to my table to ask about another beer or if I wanted to order food. I became curious to see how long it would take for my server be aware that I had finished my first beer almost an hour ago. They don't have menus, so you have to scan a barcode that they have displayed on the table that will take you to their online menu. I even had the barcode table topper sitting in front of me hoping that would serve as a clue that I wanted to order some food. Nope. Well, it was now after 7:30pm and I decided that I had had enough. I never did get to try their pizza. Not once, in the 90+ minutes that I was there, did I get asked if I needed anything. I was FINALLY able to flag someone down to cash out my tab. My tab of ONE beer. This kind of service just baffles me because they weren't very busy and I wasn't seated in some dark obscure place where I wasn't seen. Can't say how grateful I am to have found this place! It's been a recurring meeting place for many a venting sesh, karaoke blitzing through dinner, or just to celebrate having some time off for once! The staff has always been kind, courteous, and helpful. I always enjoy seeing what's on the menu next and love trying the bartenders newest concoctions. Specials are almost everyday and karaoke a must try! You may need to wait on busier days but it'll give you more time to find a partner! The staff was amazing but the food menu seemed just "OKAY"... The menu was FULL of pizza options and I felt they could have had a better appetizer menu and not 100 pizzas and maybe include happy hour specials. The place also needs a fresh coat of paint... Decided to give this place another try last night. Unfortunately, everything was worse the second time around. My girlfriend and I headed straight for the bar, and told the bartender we wanted to place an order to go. He told us he would be with us in a moment, and literally took 10 minutes to come back for our order. My girlfriend wanted to walk out, but I was adamant about giving the food a second chance. There were maybe 10 other people in the restaurant, so not sure why there was a long wait. 15-20 minutes later, our food came out and we left. The wings were very pale, and I was nervous to try one. Luckily, I don't think they were raw, but the skin was not crispy like it should have been. My house is less than five minutes away, so it's not like they got soggy on the short drive home. I ate one and a half, and threw the rest out. The pizza was also very pale. I was able to eat the part with toppings, because it's thin crust, but edges were definitely still doughy. I had two pieces before deciding it was too much undercooked dough. Last in our order, was Spencer's salad, or at least it was supposed to be. My girlfriend ended up with house salad instead. There was no chicken, no bacon, no balsamic tomatoes, and no mozzarella. A house salad is only $9, while Spencer's salad is $14. I'm pretty livid that I spent $5 more, and ended up with the wrong thing. I really wanted to like this place, hence why I gave them a second chance. Every part of our meal sucked though. I'm out $51, because I was dumb enough to leave a $5 tip. I might still recommend this place for karaoke, but no way am I ever ordering food from here again. read more
