Beer battered shrimp & fish tacos and shrimp empanadas
    Carlos Z.

Finally decided to give this food truck a try, as I was skeptical on getting seafood from a food truck. All in all the food was good, not great. This wouldn't be my first choice for fish/shrimp or empanadas. The empanadas were soggy as well with the tacos. However like I said the flavor was good, so I'll be back to try their ceviche

We just moved to the area and saw these food trucks while driving by one night! Made it a point to stop by sometime in the week and we weren't disappointed! I was a little hesitant to try a food truck that had no reviews at all but the shrimp and octopus taco sounded too good to pass up. Their menu items are on the side of the truck but no prices are listed, which was iffy to me. We decided to just order the one item in case it wasn't good. It was $14 and came with two large tacos. The tortilla was grilled to a nice crispiness and there was a ton of hot melted cheese inside. The shrimp and octopus were smothered in delicious grilled onions and came with two delicious sauces, one creamy and one spicy. The only bad thing was that I wish there was a bit more octopus for that price point as there were only 5-7 thin slices of it in each tacos but I guess food trucks always do have that premium. We will definitely be back to try the other items we were eyeing another day!

This Lonchera has got to be one of the best loncheras I've ever had the experience to try. My husband stopped by this morning and ordered some beer battered fish tacos. The price was really friendly considering the size of the tacos and the exquisite taste. 2 for $7. The service was fast and effective and to top off the food they accompanied the meal with a Chile guerro! You need to try the tacos with the Chile. It's literally the Cherry on top!!

Enjoyed in the car a tostada ceviche camarón and wife a mixto. Nice portions! Careful with shady individuals loitering in the parking lot.

Honestly had higher hopes for this foodtruck, overall it's decent for the price. The tostada Naranjera is not what we expected literally full of jaiba & seasoning wasn't the best. The fish tacos were okay, the best item we had was the empanadas de camarón. The aguachile salsa complemented the empanada perfectly & they were steaming hot so that was enjoyable. Also the cashier with the beard wasn't the most friendliest, I tried telling him I found their truck through Google Maps & he completed disregarded my comment, which felt like he didn't care totally unprofessional for a food business. If you like jaiba tostadas, this is the spot for you.

I just finished eating at 420 Mariscos. The moment I showed up, I knew I was in for something special when I saw one of the cooks putting some masa into a tortilla press. I ordered the tacos gobernador and shrimp empanadas. The shrimp tasted so fresh and the empanadas were perfectly fried (crispy and not greasy). This was some of the best seafood I've ever had. 420 Mariscos could change their name to Better than Sex and the name would be accurate.

Not sure why this place doesnt have more reviews, fish tacos were on point, will come here again. Tortilla was legit, fish top notch, and sauces made a great match.

    Beer Battered Fish Tacos

YUM! I go to this place pretty often. The beer battered fish tacos are made fresh so they come out super hot and crispy. Each taco has this yummy sauce and cabbage that compliments the fried fish wonderfully. On Tuesdays they have a 2 for $5 fish taco deal. Normally it's $3 per fish taco. From what I see around other places, this is the usual price for a fish taco. They're the green food truck right in front of Haster Basin Recreation center near the intersection of Haster and Lampson. Now, if you're wondering, the food does not have 420 in it lol. Or at least, the beer battered fish tacos don't. Maybe I'll ask them another time why it's called 420 mariscos.

This helped us get a table much faster than we would have than if we had just shown up and waited. We ordered the large family meal, and there were 12 of us. We also ordered the Newport Lobster, fish fillet with black bean sauce, and an extra shrimp fried rice. Overall, I think the food was good, and the prices are reasonable (except the lobster, which was pricey, as you might expect from anything listed as "market price"). Most of us in the group thought the fish fillet with black bean sauce was the best. I thought it was very good, but not necessarily fantastic. (There are other Chinese restaurants that do it a little better.) The sauce was very good, but the fish wasn't quite as tender as it can be. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Other dishes were good. I think the scallop soup could have been great for some people, but my wife and I both hate cilantro, and there was a ton of cilantro. The pork was also good, and my friends thought the clams were also really good. I found the fried rice a bit bland. And for both the lobster and the crab, they could have made them a little easier to eat by cracking the shells a bit more for us. I hate fighting with my food ... And there was a fair amount of fighting on these 2 dishes. The lobster cost almost much as all the other dishes combined. It certainly looked amazing. And the sauce was very good. But I found most of it a bit overcooked. Maybe it was our fault for asking for a big one. Maybe a smaller lobster might have been cooked a little less. The great sauce (along with the fighting with the shell) might have covered up the fact that the meat was actually a bit tough and rubbery. I don't think I'd order this again. The service was very friendly and pretty fast. And, again, other than the lobster, the pieces were pretty reasonable.

Our family joked around and would say let's go to the travel agency restaurant when we had a craving for Chinese/Vietnamese type of food. I recall the food back then was extra tasty and memorable, leaving me wanting to return again and again. However, my recent lunch outing with my girlfriends changed my mind. Our servers were attentive and friendly. I think it helped that my friend was a familiar customer. We came on a Monday afternoon around 11:30 and It was early enough where parking was still available. We ordered the classic dishes, including salt and pepper fried pork chopsand salt and pepper fried shrimp, but the taste this time around left a lot to be desired. These two dishes lacked the crunchiness and flavors that these fried entrees are supposed to showcase. We found the pork chops to be dry and tough, as if it was prepared a while ago and sitting out for some time before it made its way to our table. The shrimp was not impressive either. At least the shaking beef or bo luc lac was good. The beef chunks were tender, and the flavors were on point. Bonus points for the broth that is complimentary during lunch. Also the complimentary orange slices were a nice touch to end our meal. We'd still return for the lobster and noodle when the occasion comes up.

They said we could chill at the bar and use the waitlist for a table (~45 min) and we said sure, that sounds nice, we're not in a rush, and I wanted seafood. There was the option of eating at the bar too, but when I checked OpenTable ~15 min after ordering drinks, it said we were second in line and I didn't want them to have to transfer our order from bar to table so we waited... and waited........ and waited. And waited for almost 2 hrs while multiple tables in the restaurant sat empty basically since the time we sat down at the bar. I didn't ask the hostesses earlier cause I figured maybe they're for a reservation soon but NOPE, never got filled the entire time we waited. Finally when it seemed like the hostesses were becoming bored standing there and the restaurant was emptying out, and I overheard our bartender say the dinner rush is starting soon, I went to go ask if our table was ready. At this point, OT had shown first in line out of 2 total parties for at least 30 min. I kind of expected the hostess to be like, yeah table will be ready in 10 min, sorry for the delay. Instead she looks, and immediately goes, "we're setting it up right now :)", which tells me you guys forgot LOL. We were brought to the back area of the restaurant where legitimately, most of the tables were empty. Why bother with the OpenTable waitlist if you're going to completely disregard it? If you get added to the waitlist, be more proactive than me with inquiring about your table since the waitlist clearly doesn't mean much. Only saving grace was the food was mostly delicious, maybe because I was starving after the 2 hour wait (it was like 3:45pm by this point), and both bartenders were really nice. Spot prawns were amazing, halibut was amazing, bread was good, raw bar pretty fresh (the room temp uni was really weird), clams were good, skip the halibut cheeks, and most important of all, make a reservation.

The salmon ceviche was really good but a bit heavy on the sauce for me. The clam chowder had whole clams in the shell throughout. That was fun to pick them out! For entrees we got the lean and mean plate with sea bass. It comes with salad and rice, we substituted the rice for black beans. We also got the skirt steak "bulgogi" which was served on top of mushrooms and bok choy with a sweet soy sauce. They accidentally brought out salmon instead of sea bass, but were very apologetic.
