Thankfully, Michael and his team were able to accommodate us, which I really appreciated. From the moment we walked in, the place had a great vibe, the interior is beautiful. I've been waiting for this cocktail spot to iron out its flaws and become as good as it should be. Sadly, I don't think it will happen. That's a shame because it has the potential to be very good. When you start with a cocktail concept that is deliberately kept low key with no signage, and a drink menu that rotates and evolves, you have a pretty good floor to start. Having a cozy place to settle in and being able to enjoy food from Chris Kajioka should give 430 Pkwy a high ceiling. If you like an espresso martini try something a little different. Their Espressing My Love batches espresso with Averna, black walnut bitters, and a unique monkeypod syrup. Unfortunately, there is no espresso machine so you cannot get fresh drawn espresso to make a Carajillo the way Cafe Miro use to. The ahi brioche is a carry over from all Chris Kajioka places. The grilled cheese is excellent. Hotdogs are kicked up - it used to be a black truffled miso chicken sausage but the current one is a little different. The problem is the food preparation totally undermines the whole place. Without a separate kitchen you have frying being done just a few feet away from where cocktails are made. If you sit on the right side of the bar you will quickly understand why this doesn't work. I would come here more frequently if i didn't have to smell like cooking oil afterwards. Located on the 2nd floor of the 430 Piikoi Parkway building (hence the name) at the corner of Piikoi and Waimanu St., across from Ala Moana Shopping Center. Look for the "430" sign, and take the stairs up. To be sure, you'll see a menu for this place on the left before you head up. They have a shared, pay by QR code, parking lot around the corner. Entrance is on Waimanu St. Street parking also available. Once upstairs, there's a small sign next to the door. Feels like you're going to the doctor's office. Inside is dark, small and intimate, full bar with counter seats, and hits all the points of a lounge with coffee tables, couches, and cushioned chairs all around made for conversation. Their menu has a nice selection of liquor and cocktails. The Barreled Old Man was a little too sweet for my taste. Little bit heavy on the Averna and Black Walnut liqueur. I prefer the whiskey to shine and the sweetness to be more subtle. Their regular Old Fashioned is much better, and exactly how it should be. Smooth, rich, strong whiskey with a subtle sweetness. They can make a Pina Colada, fyi. Just not with a blender. Decent drink. Slightly heavy on the pineapple juice and light on the rum (Why is the rum always gone? - Captain Jack Sparrow). The Wiseman - light, nice rye spice kick, subtly sweet, earthy, and oaky. Rowan's Creek was a special recommendation by our server. After a sample, we had to try one. Smooth, earthy, spicy with a slight sweet- and fruitiness. Overall, a very nice experience with solid drinks, comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, and an excellent staff. Tucked on the second floor of a Piikoi Parkway building, it feels like stepping back in time, a true bespoke bar with vintage art, moody lighting, and comfy couches that make it perfect for couples or a night out with friends. We sat at the bar, which was a highlight, Michael and Tony were welcoming, easy to talk story with, and clearly know their craft. I went with the Barreled Old Man, a smooth, layered mix of bourbon, rye, and brandy that just worked, while my wife's Sesame Veil brought a nutty, balanced flavor that stood out. For round two, the Espressing My Love was a great take on an espresso martini, and Michael built my wife a custom drink off her favorite flavors and nailed it again. We paired it with the smoked mozzarella and salami grilled cheese and Ho Farms tomato soup, and this is where it really hit. The sandwich came out hot and crisp, and when you took a bite the cheese pulled away just right, that perfect melt, with the salami adding a savory kick. The tomato soup was fresh, bright, and made for dipping you didn't want to stop. We were welcomed with a table that had our name on it, a small touch that goes a long way. Prices are on point for the quality and experience you're getting. It's a bit of a hidden, hip spot, not for a quick drink but for when you want to sit, relax, and enjoy it. I'm obsessed with how dark and cozy it is, and we were seated right away (which we love). My friend and I are big fans of grabbing drinks on an off night when no one's really out...in this case, a Thursday and it was perfect. Bronson was an awesome server and really elevated the whole experience. We got seated on the couch and honestly... you could fall asleep there, it's that comfy. We ordered two pupus and four drinks. One pupu I was already familiar with (had something similar at Café Miro before), and the other was this dynamic sushi-style dish that was so ono. I usually go for a classic Old Fashioned, but the French Fashioned sounded fun, so I switched it up. My friend ordered a tequila-based drink (totally forgot the name!) and it was super refreshing. For dessert drinks, she got the "Get Jiggy With It" and I ordered "Expressing My Love." We definitely wanted another round, but we had our other humans waiting at home, so we kept it responsible. I went here solely because it was on InKind but it ended up being a very amazing experience. I was a bit hesitant given recent negative reviews but I personally had a very good experience. The hostess and the bartenders are friendly, and I got a great intro to the Hawaiian spirits which I ended up buying one to take home for future enjoyment. First impressions, this is a speakeasy. It took me a few minutes to gather my bearings and figure out where this bar even is - you see a 430 and you're on the right track, and it's the 2nd floor. You'll be at the right spot when you see a welcome mat I got 2 cocktails - the Strawberry Guava Milk Punch and Espressing My Love. The milk punch is one of their more popular ones and aesthetic. I love that they just switched to jasmine foam which works arguably better than matcha. The Espressing My Love drinks like an espresso martini but I was intrigued by the monkeypod syrup which comes from the trees you see everywhere in Oahu - supposedly smelly but when turned into a syrup it was fragrant and with a slight shiitake mushroom aftertaste. The cocktail vibe at 430 Pkwy is definitely worth the price of admission. Okay, there is no price of admission. The trick is to find the secret entrance. You have to look for the (mostly) unmarked stairs and then the welcome mat in front of the (mostly) unmarked door. While I wouldn't necessarily come here for the food options (which were tasty, but a little dear), the custom cocktails were really excellent. I spent a few minutes telling bartenders Michael and Tony (aka 'Mondo) what I like and what I don't like and I was rewarded with two excellent (and unique) drinks. One was rye and cognac based, and the other was tequila based (and not just some well pour tequila... but Fortaleza añejo). What a true hidden gem! On the corner of Piikoi, in a very discreet place. The door itself is unassuming. My friend had us walk from the mall and I was wondering if it would be any good. Well, it was well worth the walk! Even my friend in work heels thought so. Plenty of parking across the street at the mall, and you walk over to this establishment. Just opening the door you are transported somewhere else. The co-owner mentioned that the art and decor was all curated by travels and his time in the past. Love that. He even had Pollock art! Real ones lol! We ordered the drinks and he explained all to us- asking us what our drink choices and palette is like. He recommended some key ones and they did not disappoint. I have many favorite things to share about this place. Went here twice in a week Black truffle dog - Very indulgent but so yummy. The bun was so crispy on the outside and nice tiny little soft crunch on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The sausage was lean but flavorful and great little snap bite to it. Sauce had that deep umami flavor of truffle. It was so creamy and savory. It had that buttery flavor down. Emphasis on indulgent, please enjoy while on cheat meal day. I could have at least two of these. Terrys Chocolate Orange - Imagine old-fashioned minus the strong cherry flavors and instead strong orange and whiskey and equally strong chocolate flavor. The bartender, who I believe is the owner, shared a story reminiscent of his grandma gifting a chocolate orange for his family for Christmas. The chocolate orange would be smashed and every piece would be eaten up until Christmas. Thanks for that story bartender. I love holiday times and the memories it makes and brings. Ahi brioche - Buttery, toasted to perfection brioche. Topped with fresh ahi. So good. Great vibe. Nice chill modern lounge music. Seating was so comfortable. You could choose to sit on fluffy cushioned lounge chairs or couches. I love the decorations. They had brand name fashion designer books as stands for the lamps. It gave luxury and art and street style and speakeasy. So much mixed vibes but it was calm and soothing for some reason. The Christmas tree really was something to appreciate and admire. Service, very attentive. Very warm and personable. The hospitality is the kind of energy I very much appreciate when I pay to dine out or have some drinks. No complaints nothing bad to say. My mouth is watering thinking of things to review on this dish. My favorite French dip sandwich I've ever had in life Pork Belly Don - Comfort food. Filling if you are here to eat dinner I recommend. Fatty slightly sweet pork belly. Creamy soft boiled egg. Rice was filling and tasty. Blue Crab Dynamite - fun sushi bake dish. Nice compliment to your drinks. The owner definitely shared hospitality and was personable. Gave us a complimentary shot of his punch im not sure the name but great touch. Very hospitable. Waitress warm smile and personable as well as attentive. Great with explaining the menu and answering questions. Great with timing. This is the spot for date nights, friend groups, boys night, girls night, just everything! I have not seen any drink recipes like these anywhere else. Usually bars and restaurants, they take a classic cocktail and just change 1 or 2 ingredients to make it a "house special". 430 Pkwy is a nice place to get a few drinks and maybe even a few bites to eat on a Friday night. The thought of a walk-in only speakeasy usually gives me some pause because it's hard to gauge whether you'll get in on a weekend, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that the bar is pretty spacious and we had no trouble getting a table. There are different styles of tables for different group sizes as well as a long row of seats right on the bar. The drinks on the menu were unique and creative - we could have easily spent the night tasting every drink on the menu, but unfortunately we did not have the time for that on this visit. I actually went for a mocktail on this visit and was very pleasantly surprised - mocktails are usually an afterthought at bars but the "To Peach Their Own" was actually thoughtfully made and had a nice combination of flavors! I believe the drink menu also updates periodically, so the future possibilities are endless. We also tried the poached pear dessert which was really delicious - I'm definitely planning on trying more of both the food and drink next time. Some of the reviews here say it's valet parking - I believe that info is out of date. The parking lot is pay by the hour with the first hour free and then something like $3 an hour afterwards as of this review. We go to Hangang a lot so we knew where 430 Pkwy was located, but never had the opportunity to go. It was so beautiful inside, dimly lit, and very sophisticated feeling. Drinks and food were definitely pretty pricey, but that is something to expect in an environment like this. Drinks were great and the food was phenomenal. They don't really have a kitchen but they have more of a food station one end of the bar where they are toasting bread, assembling their dishes, basically making magic. To share, we ordered the "hot dog" and the monaka. The hot dog was great in flavor and so yummy I would definitely get it again. The monaka was very tiny and the bartender said we would only get a bite each. It was vanilla ice cream in a cake cone shell topped with caviar. Super bougie and very unique, but can be a skip in my book. For drinks, I ordered the Discovery Bae (yum!) and the Paniolo Water (7/10, loved the lihing rim). Highly recommend this spot! Located on Piikoi, above Hangang Korean BBQ. Valet parking only in the back lot but with validation, it was only about $3+tip. No reservations, walk in only. We went on a Friday night, right at opening at 5:30pm and had no problem finding a cozy seating area for our group of 5. Loved how it's a mix of sofas and chairs, with of course seats at the bar. Their food was AMAAAAAAAZING!!! It's not an extensive menu but each item was of such high quality and each bite was delicious!! Totally worth the price in my opinion. Had a great experience at this speakeasy bar! To find it. Look for the stairs to the left of the Tempura Ichika Restaurant. Go up the stairs and look for an unmarked door on right. I'm pretty sure someone inside has a monitor because they opened the door for us while we were outside looking unsure & lost! Atmosphere: Love the vibe. The toast is cut into 4 squares pieces like mini sandwiches & comes with a hint of Asian sauce. The chicken hotdog was also good. We just asked for a knife to cut it in half to share. For the tostado, they were out of hamachi, so they subbed it with scallops. I missed that it was served cold & raw, which may have changed my mind to order but it was pretty good. I actually wasn't really aware that the scallops were raw because the avocado, spiciness & other flavors all blended so well. I still preferred the other 2 dishes. But thats because I prefer hot dishes. Drinks: For two of us, we tried 3 menu drinks & 1 make your own from bartender. Drinks run from about $18-$23. The 430 Sour & Medicina were both well balanced tasty drinks. The 430 had a frothy top (I presume egg whites although it didn't mention it on the menu) the sweetness of guava, the sour of lemon & cinnamon spice made for a fairly unique flavor profile with the tequila. For the make your own, you describe the flavors you want & the mixologists create your drink. My husband asked for a spicy mezcal drink & they made a non-menu drink that was fantastic! The theme of their cocktails was Hawaii inspired. Lots of lilikoi and guava. Tried two of the signature cocktails, the Blue Hawaii and Medicina. The Blue Hawaii was described as a clarified milk punch (rum, falernum, demerara, pineapple, coconut, lime). It was pretty unique and reminded me of the yakult yogurt drink. The Medicina (mezcal, chartreuse, pineapple, lime, shishito, Yerba mate) was well balanced and more complex. It was very dark inside, speakeasy vibes! When we walked inside it was super dim and they had a lot of great seating options. Ridiculous service. We got into the bar a bit late, ordered drinks and food, and the waitress came by our table with no issue at first. But when I tried to order another round, keep in mind there was only one other couple in the entire lounge, I said "excuse me" 8 or 9 times. After several minutes, I started raising my hand and saying "hello" a few more times just trying to get someone's attention. Around 5-6 minutes had passed by, and my group was literally laughing at how oblivious the staff seemed. Eventually the owner, Michael, came over, introduced himself as the owner, squeezed my hand, and said, "Do not wave at me or my staff... that's disrespectful in our bar." At that point I'd already spent about $300 on okay food and drinks. I immediately apologized and said I meant no disrespect, I'd just been trying to get someone's attention for a while and no one was looking our way. He repeated that I still shouldn't wave because it's "disrespectful." The lack of understanding and basic customer service was really disappointing. I told him never mind, closed my tab, and left. 5 stars for everyone except the short bartender having an absolute hissy fit over us moving a stool and bringing over a chair. Both of which were done gently and absolutely not just tossing things about. Firstly, we are not a bunch of teenage punks and were spoken to as if we were. He raged out and said "We LET you be here. And you take liberties with our stuff. Be respectful." The man in our group that he was talking to (in his 40's) didn't let it bother him but I was livid and the entire party just felt off vibes for a little while after that like we were uncomfortable being there. It was extremely overreactive toward a group of very respectful and kind individuals--ones who would've understood had it just been a more informative adult presentation of concerns, not a straight-up patronizing attack. Our entire hui were made up of tech professionals coming over from East Meets West conference. Everyone was dressed in aloha attire, a few of my colleagues were in their Sig Zane company shirts, and I was in a blazer and dress. The guy who worked for Meta paid our entire tab. All of our conversation was professional if not passionate for projects we were working on. Seriously, a bunch of coders and developers working in software other tech startups are not there to cause a scene, but we can take our business to a much calmer and more welcoming one. Learn how to educate and share concerns respectfully and with the benefit of the doubt that people weren't TRYING to damage anything. Great nightcap after the VIP grand opening event at D&B Ala Moana! I followed the steps I saw on a IG reel about how to find the place. Unassuming from the outside, but you could hear the sounds of people enjoying themselves behind the door. The reveal upon entry was unreal. Big contrast from the plain exterior. Posh, modern, elevated. Lounge seating and lots of tall seats at the long bar. Rob (?) the bartender was very warm and welcoming as we sat. Great bourbon and tequila selection. My wife ordered a jasmine tea, served in a teapot, and I had the fortaleza blanco neat. It was my first time having fortaleza and the bartender was stoked. He even had a sip with me. 10/10 read more

This intimate cocktail lounge located on the second floor of 430 Piikoi. Go to Hangang Korean bbq and find the stairs at the corner of the intersection. The lounge is not marked on the night of my visit (12/24) but it is obviously that door is new and does not belong there. Once you locate the door, you will be transformed into a cocktail bar with comfortable seating and different board games. The cocktails are delicious and reflect Chef Kajioka style using local ingredients. The server was very welcoming and gave us information about this newly open place. Food was not available the night of our visits but she said it will be available in late January 2025. Note that they do not have a kitchen so food will be prepared at Miro and transport over. Sounds like oysters will be one of the menu items. Cool place to check out for some good cocktails! read more

Came with a friend during soft opening phase. It's a bit hidden away in a complex that looks like there is no way a bar exists. Maybe a bit Japan like. But inside it is much larger than you'd think. A long bar area and multiple lounge style options throughout the room. Friend went zero proof (driver!) and I did the 430Fashioned. As you guess it was a play on the old fashioned. Very delicious. Space is dimly lit and classically appointed as furniture goes. It looks like you cam hold decent size groups on the corners of the lounge portion so parties can be accommodated. Glad ai got in early as the craft cocktail scene is evolving and growing since Id been in town hears ago. Places like Leather Apron are continually packed so it's great to have more choices as the scene grows... read more

I've not had an opportunity to experience an establishment as this and I most definitely had a wonderful experience here. Out the gate with the good stuff... The hot dog was AMAZING! I was the only one that ordered food and that was all I tried. But it was easily the best "hot dog" I've ever had. It's almost insulting to call it a hot dog given how much of a different league it is. Seriously, everyone in the group asked if it was a $20 hot dog. YES, it was! Drinks... like 4.5 total. I didn't like the rum drink I had (Old Man in the Sea?). It wasn't "bad". It smelled wonderful! The taste didn't match how good it smelled. My drink was mayyybe 3-4*... just not for me. Now EVERY OTHER DRINK I tried was 5*. So, overall, great. What really soured the experience was the bartender blessing me out because I moved some stools out of the way to move a chair to sit in. Terrible hard, uncomfortable 1.5' tall plaster stools. (I'm 6' and have a bad back... no hard stools, thx). So the guy comes our raising his voice about having moved stools because people damage them and (direct quote) "we have to pay for them" ... "you can't just go moving shit, you have to ask US!" ... "that chair goes back here!" And then storms back to the bar. Bro, I am very sorry you work in a BAR and that some people are jackasses that are not careful. I was raised to not tear up other people's stuff and was completely careful. Kindly take your aggression and your bad day out on someone else. All of the other service was pretty good. Way to ruin the 5*. Even the (stoner mayyybe) girl sitting on top of the counter/dishwasher was kinda eclectic. Only other bummer was the slight abruptness at last call... THAT I can 100% empathize with! End of day we wanna go home brah! So, furniture fascist dings a point each on atmosphere and service. The other atmosphere ding was with the music being so freaking loud with only 10 people in the place. Seriously... it aint a speakeasy if we have to shout. I'd guess we ran close to 600-750 with minimal food, but until someone chills and they crank down the music... I can't personally recommend the place as a relaxing speakeasy. 3* overall experience. I was going to round up because it was fun and was a very nice ambiance otherwise. However... EVERY SINGLE PERSON I share the story with and all 8 people in our party were just stunned by the antithesis of customer service. I seriously WANT to go back, the drinks and food were that good. But not if mobster treatment is part of the "speakeasy experience". There are PLENTY of places less than 2 blocks away with AMAZING food and GREAT drinks that wont treat you poorly. read more

Came here with a group of friends and sat right away on the chairs right away you notice the theme and vibe of the lounge. My girlfriend ordered the Chocolate Tokyo Banana it was amazing! It ended up being a shared drink between the both of us because how much I liked it. Definitely recommend ordering it too! read more
