Aloha, revisited Silver Lining tonight before a concert at the Blaisdell. So convenient to walk over before or after. Fun running into friends as well as making new ones. Great neighborhood bar! Come and visit. I even hear there's a sushi pop-up on certain nights. So awesome. Enjoy!

This place is such a vibe. Tucked away with true speakeasy energy -- dim lighting, cozy ambiance, and the kind of intimate atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. The wine selection was excellent, and the staff really knew their pairings. Every glass we had was smooth and thoughtfully curated. The appetizers were the real stars though. The chicken pâté with bread was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced -- so good spread over warm, crusty slices. The baked Brie was indulgent and gooey in the best way. And the marinara meatballs? Tender, flavorful, and comforting with a sauce that tasted homemade. Perfect spot for date night or catching up with friends over great wine and small bites. Definitely a hidden gem.

My wife and I like wine... a LOT. So after discovering the Silver Lining Wine Bar on RESY and then cross checking it against their Yelp reviews it was a must visit. We made a reservation for 5 pm on a Saturday evening, they offer two reservation times, 5 pm and 7:30 pm and can accommodate up to 12 guests per seating. The bar itself is located in the industrial area of Kakaako and you enter through an unmarked door giving it almost a speakeasy feel. Shoutout to the Yelp photo otherwise we may have wandered around a bit. Rick the owner was fantastic, explaining Natural Wine and guiding us through what would pair best with our food order. We ordered the smaller charcuterie board which had a generous portion of three different meats, the baked Mozzarella Staub served with sourdough bread, and two specials. One was a Meatball Staub using the same sauce as the Mozzarella version but the meatball was added a nice addition to the cheese and sauce. The other special was a brie topped with Manoa honey served with slices of granny smith apples along with toasted bread..fantastic! Rick helped us select our wines..we ran through 2 bubblies, 2 whites, and a carafe of our favorite of the evening a red Italian wine Fongoli Montefalco Sagrantino. The wine list isn't large but rotates often to keep it interesting allowing patrons to explore upon revisiting. Overall a great place for bites and drinks to go along with the fantastic service and learn a little about natural wines in the process!

Silver Lining had a 2 day Valentine's Day 6 course meal all with a wine pairings on the 13th & 14th. The Chavost Champagne with salumi started the evening followed by Arugula Salad with a Radikon orange Pinot Grigio then Chicken Liver Mousse with Champalou Chenin Blanc, Duck Confit on Potato Pave with a Trousseau and Meatballs with Nerello Mascalese. The meal concluded with Baked Brie with a terrific fruit compote and Orange Traube. Silver Lining is the perfect venue for a quiet meal or a superb wine tasting and we plan on returning to their cask room if staffing permits.

Cozy spot with a subtle speakeasy vibe. Always a good idea to make a reservation, but they were kind enough to squeeze us in for a quick tasting. Around the corner you'll find Hana Koa Brewing and Bocconcino Italian Sandwich -- perfect stops to round out your visit.

This wine bar is truly exceptional! The owner Rick is incredibly kind and welcoming, making every visit a memorable experience. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the outstanding selection of wines they offer. They serve carefully curated wines from around the world, ensuring there's something special for every palate. A must-visit for any wine lover looking for a cozy yet refined atmosphere. Quite a bit of parties around us were partaking in this. Though a friend of mine didn't want to drink a whole bottle by herself, she tried a glass of Rosé from France which she stated was very delicious. I on the other hand had asked for a non-alcoholic option. Unfortunately, they ran out of ginger beer, all the sparkler options, and didn't serve any soda. The bartender looked pretty irritated by that point, and didn't even provide me with a glass of water. We would've grabbed a bunch of food to compensate for taking up a seat, but by then, the bartender had already dropped the check, and we hadn't even sat there for more than 5 minutes. The most interesting part was that an older couple sat next to us, similar situation. The gentleman asked for a glass of wine, and his wife asked for a non-alcoholic beverage. Though a different bartender came back with a sparkler option for her. Needless to say, I felt pushed aside and I don't believe I'll be back to this location any time soon. The only reason I didn't give this review a 1-2 star is that I recognize that Abe is busting his butt there. He was floating back and forth between this bar and Eleven. Separate review with my direct encounter with Abe at Eleven forthcoming.

We had so many great memories here, and the food and wine selection were always top-notch. Naturally, we were excited to return. When we arrived at 6 PM on a Friday, the restaurant was completely empty, which felt unusual. We thought maybe the crowd shows up later, but by the time we left, no one else had come in. Looking at the menu, we were disappointed to see that many of our favorites were gone--the small burger sliders, charcuterie board, and truffle fries were all missing. We ordered the ahi dynamite, but it tasted different from what we remembered--almost like it wasn't fresh. The presentation was still great, but the flavor was off. The wine, however, was just as good as always. For a $100+ bill, the food did not live up to expectations. When I asked if they'd bring back the old menu, the staff mentioned some items are available during happy hour (Monday-Thursday), but I'd honestly be happy to pay full price if they just brought them back permanently. If they restore the menu to what we all loved, I'd be happy to return. Until then, I might hold off.

We stopped in during their happy hour from 3-5 PM, and it immediately stood out as an ideal after-work pau hana or easy date-night spot. The space is relaxed and inviting, with a calm, tucked-away feel that makes you forget you're inside a hotel. The happy hour menu is impressively priced, with starters beginning at just $6, yet everything feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated. Highlights included the toasted bread with sun-dried tomato pistou -- warm, crisp toast paired with a deeply savory, herbaceous spread that's simple but incredibly satisfying. The mini poke bowl was fresh and well-balanced, showcasing clean flavors and quality fish without being overly heavy. The fish tacos delivered exactly what you want: crispy island fish, bright flavors, and a great balance of texture. We also tried the fish and chips, featuring lightly fried island fish, hot fries, and a creamy house remoulade that tied the dish together beautifully. The standout for us was the empanadas -- flaky, crisp pastry filled with tender braised beef and potato, finished with a bold aji rojo sauce that added just the right amount of depth and gentle heat. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, and the overall vibe made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. Whether you're looking for a low-key happy hour, a casual date spot, or a place to unwind after work, this is a hidden gem worth seeking out. Pro tip: Arrive early for happy hour -- once more people discover this spot, it won't stay quiet for long.

Ahi Katsu Sandwich ($26): Pretty good, liked it better than madame pele. But it's also nothing to write home about either. For $26, I expected something better. Bottomless Mimosa: best part of the experience, it was truly bottomless. You can choose between 3 juices (I think it was 3). I got POG and another friend got orange juice. One of the waitresses comes around and refills your champagne glass every so often and you can mix in the juice to your liking. The vibes were immaculate, but ultimately, I would only come back for the bottomless mimosa for a birthday brunch or for a pau hana so I can get some pupus without committing to a full entree.
