The owner of Burger Cache is a kindhearted gentlemen and checked on my Mom and I when we were eating our burgers and fries, which were delicious! I used to frequent Burger Cache as a child and all the way up to high school. The previous owners were nice, but I love that the new owner's genuineness and hospitality. We had a conversation about philanthropy and he says that he gives money to orphans and the homeless. That warmed my heart. The vibe and atmosphere is very vintage looking, like it's from the 1970s. The colors of the dining room are orange, brown, and yellow. I feel like this is a place you can come to over the summer or after and have a milkshake and burger and fries. I don't remember if they have milkshakes, but adding ice cream and milkshakes would be nice. The food is very good and made with care. I used to really love the fries over at Tommy's Burger Stop, but the quality isn't the same. Burger Cache's fries are very flavorful and not greasy. The burgers are pretty good sized and really leave you feeling satisfied. The Mushroom Burger is my favorite! I highly recommend everyone try this establishment! You'll fit right at home! read more

Fall 2024: I feel like maybe ownership has changed but not 100% sure. They painted the building bright pink and changed the sign but still the same name and still has burgers and Korean food. The lady taking our orders at the counters wasn't very nice. Also I ordered quickly and got a plain burger when I wanted cheese but the vibe was hurry up!! The fries are still the same battered hot goodness and the burger was still good despite not cheese. I got a burger that wasn't on the menu it was typed up on a piece of paper and taped below the menu. It was just a delux with more toppings then their regular burger. All I want it pickles and no onions at least! This is a place I will continue to want a burger from. Most people get it to go as it was lunch time and nobody was sitting inside. They haven't remodeled since the 90s anyways. No napkins or anything readily available either like they don't ever have people dining in. read more

Hands down best mom and pop take out burger place for value in Anchorage. The ambiance is unintentional 1980s cafeteria, so I don't recommend dining in. They have a drive though. Order ahead and use it on cold Alaskan days. You can get a standard meal here of cheaper than the national fast food chains and it's really good. They onion rings are FANTASTIC. Their fancy burgers are ok, but there are other placres in town that do thst better. Just a regular burger here, with a drink and fries will cost you less anywhere else. And there's super nice, super cute guy working at the counter in the evenings. read more

My son and husband love going here, especially for the jalapeño burgers. I got a salmon burger and it was pretty good - the best parts were the sauce, onions and mushrooms while the salmon was probably a frozen patty. I appreciate that they have a number of vegetarian/pescatarian options, but wish they would add vegan burgers from Beyond or Impossible to the menu if they are going to use my frozen patties at all. The service was great and our order came out quickly. We enjoyed the bright colors inside and outside of the restaurant, especially the pink! read more

I feel like an idiot for not going here ever in the history of my entire life on this planet of the earth! They have new signage that attracted my this afternoon so I pulled in looking for a burger. I've spent the last hour trying to remember a better hamburger. Friendly greeting from the counter staff and a recommendation for onion rings had me sitting down with a fountain soda and a short wait for my bacon cheeseburger. Hot, juicy, and tall with lettuce and onions. Perfectly cooked and delicious. I'm serious, the best burger! Meet me there tomorrow around two and I'll buy you one to prove it! Really a low key place with patina on the interior. It must have been there for ages yet this was my first time. Old school decoration with booths and a back lit menu board. And a very impressive angle: just last night, two burgers, two fries, and one drink at a very popular place on Spenard, that starts with a T was $80 with tip. The service is great despite it being only a few people, they gave us some "Cutie oranges". The place is very clean but it is kinda cold so bring some jackets to stay warm. They told me that everything here is homemade no artificial flavors or sweetener, additionally they claim they do it old school. Plus you should bring cash since they add a non-cash-advance if you pay with card. but either way you pay. The food is great here. They also have some Chinese food here as well, but I haven't tried it yet. read more

FRESH. FRESH. The owner came out & greeted us to tell his story - scrubbed the place top to bottom & fresh paint, too. Dining room is sparce but sparkling clean. He told us how the buns (perfectly toasted) are baked fresh every day according to their biz forecast. Burgers are fresh, never frozen & cooked to order. I have lived in the Anchorage area most my life and never stopped in here. Finally decided to give it a try and pulled up to the drive thru. When I pull up, I am presented with the biggest menu ever. They have Mexican, Chinese, burgers, subs and more. I was going to get a burger but saw they had chicken fried rice and that just sounded like it would hit the spot. Ordered my rice with a coke and it came out to $10. I ate my rice while I waited for my dog at the vet next door. It was very ok. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. Rice seemed undercooked or old and the rice had very little flavor. Next time I'll try the burger. read more

I was mistaken it was 1/4 cup of combo product not worth the 25 Bucks. Dried out and bland.

There was a three burger order delivered and each one of them was wrong. There was a malt ordered that was like a watered down milk shake. When we called to let them know just an informational courtesy call that maybe we received someone else's order the lady that answered the phone was rude, raised her voice, and yelling until the call ended. Just spent $50 on this place . what was I thinking!!? I had the fish and chips, and now I'm laying in bed broke,sick,and disgusted!! These folks need to retire because their heart ain't in it any longer. The fish that was suppose to be halibut tasted like farm raised rubber and sooo dry. The fish flavor was so fishy it tasted fake. Regular fish don't even taste this fishy.!! The fries were just as impossible!! Fishy greesy and cardboard!! Burger Cache's is unique, and a place to get a real down home, rack your gut, make me smile Cheeseburger, then give this a try. They have their own variations of California Burgers, Hawaiian Burgers, Philly Cheese Burgers and so-on. All of which pack a powerful wonderful Grease punch! :) Fries and Onion Rings are just as deadly!!! Excellent stuff, BUT, they also have to go Chinese food, which is not half bad if you are in a hurry. Typical oriental owned, hole-in-the-wall, fast food restaurant with a wide offering of burgers, and Chinese food. For those of you who read my Big Boy Burger/Express Market review, this is where the original owner/cook, and family now reside. The mongolian beef, chicken fried rice, and deep fried mushrooms are my favorite choices. Well, I have to update and sadly downgrade my review. In recent times, the past 3 or 4 months or so, the quality of food here took a steep decline. I received orders wrong, under cooked and well over cooked. Now, I know once in a while happens, but the last 3 times I have ordered the nachos, they get here where the meat is pink and GOOEY inside large chunks, and the last time i ordered their Mongolian beer, the rice was burnt. no, not just flecks of that black chard stuff in the bottom of a pot. BURNT. Add in that my orders are usually very simple and yet often gotten wrong (IE, no tomato on a sandwich or jalapeno but not guacamole on nachos). Sorry Burger Cache, I'm not eating here again until the quality goes back up to what it was in my last review. read more

4 years ago I would have given them 5 stars, but in the last few years the burgers, though still very good, are not as craving inducing as they once were. Back in the day it was evident that the burger patties were made in house, now they are uniform and obviously pre-frozen. They are still however juicy and amazing....but not the same. The french fries are still to die for in that very crunchy double fried way. And for the price? They can't be beat. This must be one of the only places in Anchorage, aside from the fast food joints, where you can get a burger for less than $5. Plus a chance to win $1000! I love it! read more

By the 5th time I came here, I finally noticed the kitchen and the cooks. Everything was filthy and I seen a pan of meat near the trash where I then seen him place on the floor to get something from the box it was on. Burger Cache used to be amazing, I remember when I was in middle school up until my sophomore year of high school I would eat there at least once every 2 weeks. The fries were the most amazing thing ever, and the burgers were great. The Chinese food was pretty decent for a fast food place. I had no complaints, until that is the end of my sophomore year of high school when the Mongolian beef/shrimp fried rice started making me sick anytime I'd order it. Now, let me say if it happens once it's usually just a fluke so I order it one or two more times. And both times I ended up at home sick from school the next day. This was 3 years ago. I stopped ordering the Chinese food and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I moved away from that side of town after that, so I stopped ordered from them. Then, just recently I was on that side of town with some family and we decided to grab some food to go. They got the deep fried clams and fries, and I got the deep fried shrimp and fries. I don't know what they thought of their food, but when we got it home and opened it, it immediately smelled off to me. I thought maybe it was because I hadn't had it in so long, but as I started eating it I realized something was weird about the food. It didn't make me sick at all, but it was laden with grease like they tried to fry it before the grease was hot. And the fries were sort of limp, soggy, and didn't have that usual beautiful double fried crunch and taste. Overall, their food was great 3 or 4 years ago but I don't miss it at all these days. Must be new owners or something, because the food definitely gone downhill. And even back then the dining room of the restaurant was never all that clean, so I'm terrified to see what it might look like these days. read more
