As soon as you enter the property you will feel a sense of peace. Swept away from the business of the Hamptons, yet just a 5 minute walk away from the center of Amagansett (or a 10 minute bike ride to prime Hamptons beach). The Reform Club's eye for detail is what will impress you the most. Our rooms and cottage (and entire property) was spotless. Not once was there anything to point fingers at. The rooms were decorated to perfection. Between the interior, the art selection, the cleanliness, the gorgeous bathroom!... you are in for a treat. PLUS if you book Cottage 2 you will have your own private (and pristinely clean) steam room that WORKS! Within 5-10 minutes it is steaming hot. Fabulous way to start your day followed by a great shower -- or after a chilly day of exploring the Hamptons. Order your complimentary breakfast seamlessly on the ipad provided in your room and you will wake up to fresh brewed coffee and a deliciously warm croissant! Let's not forget that every room and cottage at The Reform Club has their own fireplace -- so get ready to get cozy! In cottage 2 we had one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. The frontdesk will send someone immediately to get it started for you and all you need to do is pour yourself a glass of wine, sit back and enjoy the coziness. If you want to have dinner there as well they can arrange that (highly recommend doing this for an evening). I can not recommend staying at The Reform Club enough. You are never gonna want to leave.

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had…read more My partner became ill and was unable to join me for dinner. We called the restaurant to either move our reservation to another day or cancel it, and were told that only the manager could assist us. However, we were told the manager was unavailable because he was busy speaking with regulars at a table. I asked if we could simply be placed on hold until he was available so we could find a solution. We were told no. Instead, the employee said they would "leave a note" and that someone would call us back if they were able to help. Meanwhile, we were told that if the reservation was canceled, we would be charged a $135 cancellation fee -- despite the fact that we were actively trying to work with the restaurant to either reschedule or resolve the situation. The experience became even more unacceptable when the employee eventually hung up on us and then stopped answering our calls. The restaurant only answered after American Express contacted them on our behalf. To be clear, I have no issue with a restaurant having a cancellation policy. What I have an issue with is the way this situation was handled: being told the manager was "too busy" to speak with us, being refused the simple courtesy of being placed on hold, having our calls screened, and ultimately being hung up on. That is an embarrassing level of customer service for an establishment of this caliber. I genuinely hope someone in management -- above the person working the restaurant that evening -- takes this seriously and addresses this behavior. A cancellation policy is one thing; treating a customer with this level of disrespect is another.

The service was excellent and the ambiance is definitely the highlight. As for the food, it was good but didn't quite live up to our expectations. A few of our dishes arrived overcooked and only lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. That said, we still had a nice experience overall. I wouldn't hesitate to come back, especially to enjoy the beautiful garden atmosphere. Overall, a nice spot for a relaxed night out.

The Steam Room, the Sauna, the Rain Shower and Shiatsu Jacuzzi were just a few of the luxurious highlights. Our Room had a veranda with exceptional views of exquisite gardens, trails and sculptures. The owners/hosts Michael and Rosalind are just amazing and warm. We felt quite at home with their kindness and enthusiasm. They are also both exceptionally talented artists and sculptors. They each have their own personal studios within the villa with amazing pieces of their personal talents. The exquisite gardens, trails, and sculptures along with the extraordinary grounds adorned with a variety of greenery and colors, paint a vivid picture of a serene and beautiful environment all around you. There also are several imported artifacts all around as you walk the grounds. The fresh breakfast prepared by the staff and the access to Clearwater Beach were delightful additions to our experience. I would highly recommend a stay at The Art House

I can't wait to come back in the summer. There are things here that need to be seen and experienced when it's warmer. The ocean is a block away but it's too cold for that right now. The rooms have iPod docks with 30-pin connectors. I mean at this point just remove them if you aren't going to replace them guys - they haven't worked with any iPhone since 2012. 3. A woman who fell squarely into the "surprised and afraid to find herself in charge of a hotel" category was incredibly rude to my wife when we were working from the room (as we had been told we could) the day we needed to inexplicably vacate it for a different room. "My husband is showering, we need 15 minutes." "You can't have 15 minutes." Like, what are you going to do? Forcibly remove us from the room? You guys were the ones who told us we could use the room. 4. I should also note that the rooms were LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO EACH OTHER and to my eye completely identical. (The one we moved to had a small balcony but otherwise I didn't detect any material difference.) It doesn't seem like an insurmountable puzzle to solve that you could have just put the other people into the vacant room. 5. They decided for some reason to empty the hotel's septic tank during our friends' wedding photos. 6. It's one of those places where a hopeless fussy person has laminated lots of signs with rules and instructions. Do NOT remove the laminated guide to the room from the room itself. Do NOT use any towel other than the blue ones for removing makeup. Do NOT flush anything other than toilet paper because the house has EXTREMELY sensitive plumbing. It all seems like someone very, very angry runs the place. (Is there a significant problem with guests removing the laminated guide from the room?) One star for a good location and another star for a pretty good breakfast (you are entitled to ONE cooked item, per the rules).
