I have friends who come in from San Francisco and New York to see him since I've recommended his talents, and they're not exaggerative about waiting to see him. He really is masterful in his work, my hair is always healthy and happy. Brian recommends great products and gives me fantastic tips on how to style it and take care of it at home. Chrystal at 454 is a genius miracle worker when it comes to coloring blondes and more specifically those like me who are not naturally blonde but want to look like they were born a blonde! She took my overly highlighted and dark root mess and transformed it into a masterpiece. It wasn't an overnight fix, but trust me, it was worth having her do it and do it the right way! People I meet have no clue that I'm not a natural blonde. I always see her before photo shoots and when I am appearing on stage and she knows just how to highlight my face and keep me looking young and fresh. This is going to be an extremely long review. I will be honest and say that 10% of this will be about the salon and 90% will about the greatest colorist in Los Angeles, ANDREW! For my own selfish reasons, I thought about whether or not I should write anything just because andrew is mine and I don't want anyone else to have him! (Just kidding) actually (kind of kidding)...Anyways, I first went to Ramírez Tran for a blowout. I didn't know what I was getting myself into but I knew it was a good place to go. When I came in, I realized that every single colorist and stylist had an incredible hair and their clients looked beautiful and happy. From the women to the men and even the doggie walking around but I decided to ask someone who I can speak to about color and this kind woman (I owe her everything) introduced me to Andrew and I was sitting in his chair one week later... 2 hours passes and I colored and fixed my hair (it was a disaster) and I've never been happier and this was two years ago... Fast forward to right now, I'm sitting in Andrew's chair at the 454 salon as he colors my hair. He is an artist. He cares so so so much. He makes me feel beautiful and he makes my hair even more beautiful. No I'm not brunette anymore and I'm not a blonde, I'm exactly what I want to be (see pics). He understood that maintaining my hair is extremely difficult for me but I don't want to look the way I did when I was 12. He gave me the perfect balayage and this is after I asked to go dark and then darker and then a little lighter then a lot lighter. He does what I ask and makes me so happy every time. I told my mom, best friend, her sister, and her mom all about him and know we all go him. Many stylists have a way of doing hair and their own style and so does andrew but he does what suits the person the most and I truly admire that. The 454 salon is amazing. It's clean and chic but also super comfortable. You never feel like you have to get all dressed up to go there (like some places in Los Angeles) and you truly feel at home. Everyone here is incredible and I know this because I've been through it. I watch and I see from the styling, cutting and coloring to the way everyone treats each other. 454 clearly only hires extremely incredible hair artists. This place is pricey because they take their time to make sure you leave extremely happy. I have gone to Liz for a haircut and she's also styled me. She's also pure perfection but overall, the salon is incredible. People will comment on their prices I'm sure but these people then don't care as much about their hair. Listen! I understand it's expensive, and I won't sit here and say that everyone can afford it but twice or three times a year, it's extremely worth it and by the way, most salons are the same price if not more! 454 is cozy, clean and they care! They care so so so much! Andrew is a HAIR GOD! He's sweet, humble and he literally only cares about making you happy... I've followed Brenda K to this new salon for her hair coloring magic. She's an absolute genius at being able to create a brighter blonde. I prefer my hair to look as natural as possible and she does a perfect job. I see her every few months because the fade is no natural and I can get away with it. I hardly ever get asked "who does your hair" because people can't tell it's not natural. My sister decided to go red and now visits Brenda regularly for touch ups. AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!! Just got my hair done by **Anja and Farmer**. I'm still in the salon...and I had to write this review right now, as I can not help but want to spread the word about the stellar job they did, and how beautiful I feel. My hair has never looked so good! Anja listened to EXACTLY what I wanted, and my color turned out STUNNING!! Never did I feel rushed in the slightest, even though it was slammed on a Saturday. Most hairstylists of her calibur hand you off from person to person and have barely any contact with you till the very end. Not Anja. With a celebrity client list, you might expect someone who acts a bit arrogant...but not her. So humble, so calming. Really unbelievable. Farmer was awesome with my cut. I was that annoying client who "didn't want any length taken off." I was so scared going to someone new and he did not let me down. Totally listened to me and respected my wishes. He also styled my hair to the T. Both Martin and Dan were also absolutely wonderful. Always paying attention to my comfort, and extreme attention to detail. Brian at the front desk was so sweet and accommodating, from appointment booking to day of. Andrew Kyle has also done my color before and he did a wonderful job as well! 1000% satisfied with this salon and my experience. It has the perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. Awesome salon! There are tons of windows and doors which lets the most amazing breeze roll through, it is a really pleasant experience. Brenda is the best colorist I've ever had, she brought me from a brassy blonde grown out hombre to the most amazing icy blonde. We also experimented with a lavender gloss and the outcome was incredible. Farmer gave me the perfect cut, long layers and long bangs to frame my face. Stopped by 454 North Salon for the first time a few weeks ago and have been meaning to review since then. The location itself is very spacious, parking is easy, and there is a helpful receptionist on duty. I followed Brenda Kamt from Ramirez Tran here after having her completely color correct my hair. After Brenda worked her magic on my hair, I was convinced she would be my go to colorist. Brenda took my brassy, inconsistently colored, and incredibly damaged hair and turned it all around after one visit. She was sweet, funny, and above all honest in her projections for my hair. I will definitely be coming back. Brenda is a hair saint. read more

If you have millions and love to brag about your wealth and your trips over seas and the homes you bought during the pandemic the 2nd and 3rd home and ask you the client if you bought homes then this place is for you. like clueless to any real person's lives. I found myself having to defend myself by the constant prying of the stylist Into my life. They deal with wealthy people and brag about their celebrity clients, so if you aren't one or do t live like that when they ask you if you bought homes during the pandemic and etc. you may feel weird. With past colorists, I haven't been able to stretch my highlights for longer than 6/7 weeks but with Andrew- I just got my color done for the first time in FIVE MONTHS. He blends it so beautifully and naturally that even up until last week, I was still receiving compliments on my hair color. He also does a really good job at not overlapping the bleach, so my hair stays as healthy as possible. He really is a genius when it comes to color.... also just want to mention that he is one of the most sweetest, and genuine people ever and is absolutely hilarious. Can't recommend enough. read more

This salon is everything!! I've been a client of Chris' for decades now and have followed him to every salon. He's finally got his own place and it's beautiful. Private, feels secluded out of the city almost. He is, of course a genius at hair cutting. He's got some pretty fantastic colorists working with him and feel like any of them would get the job done and then some! I don't color my hair personally but have seen some amazing stuff walk out of there! Every one at the salon is happy and smiling!! Need a new cutter? Ask for Chris!! You won't be sorry. I came to see Winston on 11/24/18 for a haircut and color. I've been to many top colorist in L.A and I have to say Winston is something special he's not only sweet but he's a perfectionist. I told Winston I wanted to be a golden blonde. I had coppery brown hair with different tones and had no dimension. He was very thorough in the consultation on what can be realistically done without jeopardizing my hair, we decided that gradually going lighter would be better that way I can get accustomed to seeing myself with light hair since I'm used to dark hair and to make sure my hair is healthy. From start to finish he was just so focused on my hair and making sure everything was going to come out perfect. I went in with reddish brown hair with no dimension and came out with a light brownish hair and with NO damage. I can't wait to continue the process of going lighter with Winston. If you want a true artist to work on your hair that actually listens to you and is a perfectionist then I recommend you make an appointment to see Winston. read more

I've been getting my hair cut by Chris Bragg Turner for the past year, and also got highlights from Anya. I'll address Anya first: I have dark hair and was nervous about getting highlights, as I don't like that stripey look that can sometimes result. I didn't need to worry: Anya is beyond talented; she gave me the most subtle, gorgeous highlights that only served to deepen and enrich my natural color. The vibe in the salon--which is a beautiful space, full of light in a pretty courtyard--is casual and relaxing. Now on to Chris: He did my hair for my wedding on October 7, 2018. We did a few trials beforehand and he really worked to find the right style that would *hold.* I have pin-straight hair that falls out of any style almost instantly, so he used steam rollers, which kept my hair in place for hours. We went with a soft, wavy style that held wonderfully while still looking soft and natural. And his personality is perfect for a nervous bride: he is calm, so sweet, not chatty (but he'll absolutely chat if that's what you prefer) and he makes you fee like you are in excellent hands. No wonder he is the go-to hairstylist for many celebs (he's done Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon's hair, among many others). I will continue to see him for as long as he's in the business. read more
