I visited this place so many times in a span of only 4 days and let me tell you my favorite flavor they have is the cookies and cream. It will make you wanna keep coming back for more! It's not too sweet and it has the perfect taste of Oreo filling. Each batch is made fresh and every time I get a box of fudge it's still very soft. Their packaging is so simple but cute and the seal is very new. (Also comes with a complementary knife). The inside of Murdick's is old fashioned and they make fudge the traditional way behind the display so your able to see how they make the fudge you purchase! Fun for kids to watch. Service is quick and easy so your not there for too long! They have a wide variety of flavors, and your bound to find something you enjoy. 3/5 for the atmosphere and 5/5 for the fudge, so 4/5 average. We chose this place over Kilwins, since we can get Kilwins anywhere. We stopped by today on the way out of TC. They have samples and I tried the chocolate cherry and chocolate pecan; both were tasty. When I buy fudge, I usually get something with caramel or something with peanut butter ... Today I bought caramel sea salt. Finally tried a bit when at home just now, and it's delicious. I believe it was about $8.50 for one slice. It's kind of an "old-school" fudge place and not very exciting inside, hence the 3/5 for that. No bathroom, also, as far as I could see. I'd come back here again for the fudge, though. read more

We stopped in here because you can't really go up north without some fudge. Granted we are not up mackinaw, but this is close enough. Normally they have good selection and prices. They normally offer samples so you can make your decision wisely and not buy out the whole store. The workers are helpful, but it does seem like there was not a lot of sanitary practices here with hand washing or gloves. For this visit we decide to pick up a non-edible souvenirs after seeing the employee cut up pieces without washing her hands after handling money and touching all sorts of other stuff in the store. read more

Very clean place with a lot of good options! Staff is nice and efficient, resulting in great service. The issue is the limited space to stand. Despite the narrow area for customers, there is a big open kitchen space for staff and the displays. It's cool to see the fudge-making appliances and overstock in the back. Prices are fair, as to be expected for quality fudge. I got three different types of fudge: the peanut butter chocolate was flavorful, the salted caramel was rich and deluxe, and the cookies n' cream was very sweet. Cool Michigan themed merchandise, too! I got a keychain. I always love to come here when I'm in the Traverse City area! read more

This is a totally decent, very traditional fudge shop. Absolutely no frills-- the inside has one purpose and that is to get fudge to the customers (it's downright ugly) and definitely don't come expecting dark chocolate or caramel and sea salt or pretty much any flavor besides the 6-8 ones they've always had. If they told me their relatives opened the shop 200 years ago and they haven't changed 1 single thing since, I'd believe it. As for the fudge, it's fine. Very sugary. Don't get me wrong, I definitely liked it, but it's nothing special at all. I asked to try the new sugar-free chocolate walnut flavor, and it just wasn't good. That's coming from somebody who is more than happy to sacrfice a bit on flavor/texture/etc for something slightly less fattening or more healthy. You'd be better off either just eating less of the real stuff or none of it at all. I went home with the chocolate cherry and the peanut butter. The chocolate cherry would have been a lot more delicious if it was 70+% cocoa (this one is a very light milk chocolate) and the peanut butter flavor was much tastier when I spread a thin layer of my own PB on it. My bf got the nuts thinking they would be hot. They weren't, but they were still nice. read more

One of two fudge retailers on Front St. in downtown Traverse City. They dedicate most of the store in the making of the fudge for the tourist. They still have enough fudge and other cherry creations available to purchase. The sweetness smell is overwhelming when you walk in the front doors. Free fudge samples on counter tops, and plenty of fudge flavours, but I didn't see any ice cream - maybe it was to early in the season. Friendly staff. We went shopping on Front Street on a Sunday afternoon and had to stop in for some fudge. This is my cousins favorite while my aunt loves the place across the street. The fudge is great, but the service really lacked any warmth. It seemed like none of the staff wanted to be there. I kept smiling and being polite: please, thank you, that would be wonderful,..., and I felt like I needed to apologize for taking up his time. Great fudge, poor service attitude. Our favorite was the vanilla chocolate chip. Call if you need to know the hours. Google and their website had different hours than the store window. read more

While on vacation I visited this location to send fudge to California for a Father's Day gift. Specially asked if it was packed so that it would not be affected by the heat and was told "yes". Shipping for 4 slices was $18.00 which I did not question since it was being packed to handle the trip. The fudge arrived in a melted blob. Very disappointed. read more
