I called to get a quote for a watch, we went over all the pricing and the method of delivery which was decided to be shipping. We very clearly agreed to a final price in the middle and also at the end of the phone call. The sales agent told me to stop by to pickup the watch today, and I could have it. When I finally get there (same day), I basically have to sit in the small shop for 30 minutes even though they know I am the one who made the quote on the phone (they only had 1 other client there), while I see the one Sales agent "wine and dine" one of their other customers. This felt borderline disrespectful already, but wasn't the deal breaker.
Now after nearly 45 minutes, I'm told that they are going to charge me more for insurance on the shipping, even though we already had agreed to a final price (which already included a discussion on the shipping). I tried to explain this to the same guy I spoke with on the phone, but he was clearly slippery to do business with. The Sales agreement on the phone was so detailed that it even included a discussion on the tax and shipping, so anything left out after that, I would label as being "slippery".
If you are paying a lot for a watch (from an "authorized dealer"), you shouldn't be treated as if you are in a pawn shop. Everything about today's experience was off, and they seemed very set on pawning the extra $150 off of me. Buying a nice watch should never feel like this. I'd recommend you look elsewhere. They obviously didn't care that much about me as a customer. I should have know that after waiting 45 minutes with hardly any service.
They didn't even have the watch in stock that they told me on the phone I could buy from them. It was a shady experience. They should have mentioned this important fact ahead of time to avoid wasting my time. read more
