Unfortunately, within approximately two months, ALL OF MY JEWLERY BROKE/FELL APART. I was SO disappointed because the purpose of having jewelry repaired is to ensure that it is fixed properly and lasts. The quality of the workmanship is EXTREMELY POOR. He then proceeds to blame his poor workmanship on your jewlery (similar to what others said here). That was NOT the case. My pieces are all genuine and well-made. I've had pieces repaired decades ago that have never split open like this. In my opinion, Sash came across as VERY misleading. He talks and distracts you with conversation. He spoke about family and friends, who seem to be the ones receiving the highest level of care (and the ones writing the good reviews), while new customers receive poor service. He also intentionally adds on additional charges without confirming with the customer, that was fine with me, but at least provide the service you charged for. I am posting this review so that other customers can make an informed decision before spending their money here. If you are looking for reliable jewelry repairs, I would recommend considering the other jewelry repair businesses on the same floor. I went to another guy and he did a fantastic job. I regret spending so much money and hope this review helps other potential customers avoid a similar experience.

For ~15 years, I've had a pair of diamond "huggie" hoop earrings that I rarely take out. While…read morethey're not super high end, they have sentimental value. Image my distress then, when one evening I came home and discovered I'd lost one. I was heartbroken. I filed a claim with my renter's insurance and the adjuster suggested I contact a jeweler to see if they could custom make a match to the remaining earring. I went to the American Gem Society website and saw Roman Malakov Diamonds listed -- their website was full of jewelry that was far more expensive than my earrings. I called them, explained my situation, and asked whether they could give me an estimate to provide my insurance company. The woman I spoke with was so nice and put me at ease. A few days later I took my remaining earring to the store, where I met with Michael. He examined it and took measurements, and a few days later provided me with a quote for a custom match, which I sent to the insurance company. The adjuster called me a few days later to say that the price quoted was actually slightly less than a comparable pair he'd found on Macy*s website, so my claim was approved in full! The adjuster mentioned that he'd called Michael with additional questions about the diamonds and he was impressed with how quickly Michael responded. I took my earring back to Michael so that the custom match could be made. He was very patient with all my questions and explained that the new earring would be very, very close but not exactly the same - which I understood. I had to leave my earring with him so they could make the match. It took about seven weeks, but it was worth the wait. When Michael told me it was ready, I tried to keep my expectations low -- like they would probably be "close enough," but not perfect - so I wouldn't be disappointed. When he brought them out I couldn't have been happier. I looked at them both and correctly guessed which earring was the original (based on a few differences that are mostly only visible when looking at the back of hoop). But when looking at them in my ears, I think they look essentially identical. He told me he chose the diamonds himself to match them (the 4 Cs) as closely as possible to the original. He also polished, steam cleaned, and tightened the hinge on the original earring. Even though my earrings cost a fraction of the jewelry they sell there, I was never made to feel like it was beneath them to work on my earring. I'm so pleased with how the custom earring turned out that I'm having them make a pair of earrings for me using gems from a couple of rings I have that I no longer wear. I definitely recommend them if you need a custom piece of jewelry.
