It's walking distance to the park right in Downtown Summerlin, which made it super convenient. The vibe was very chill and stylish, plush chairs, low tables, open windows to the outside, and great music playing the whole time really gave it that true lounge feel. They also have bar seating if that's more your style. A huge shoutout to my server Katie, who was phenomenal from start to finish and made the experience even better. I'll definitely be coming back. Bonus: they offer a free margarita if you show your Aviators game ticket, which is such a fun perk. I also checked out their happy hour menu and there were tons of great options. I cannot given enough praise to The Lakes for every experience we receive when we dine or pick up our meals. Whether you are eating in the restaurant itself or if going in later hours and eat at the bar, you will receive excellent service, excellent food and reasonable pricing for what you order. While I did enjoy the fish and chips, I now go and pick up "TheLakes burger" every time I choose The Lakes for a meal. Their burgers are cooked on a grill, with fresh, quality hamburger meat and cooked to your desired preference. The seasons they use on the fresh made patties is always spot on and you get that grilled taste that is just perfection. The burger is also never dry, so you really get all the flavor. Did i mention also that they are a half pound? The bun, which is a quality bread, is always flash grilled so it helps holdup to the burger and all its dressings. The lettuce, onions and tomato have been crisp and fresh every time I order it. Bacon is a good quality. The fries served as a side are some of the best steak fries I've had at a restaurant. If you prefer them saltier, you will have to add more salt to them although I prefer this due to it allows you to control how much salt you like on them. If you don't prefer steak fries, you can swap them out for regular fries or do what we do and upgrade to their onion rings. I'm not sure if they're battered there although I'm not worried because they always have a great crunch and taste amazing. I forgot to mention that on the fries, you can request Parmesan on them and although I'm not typically a fan of Parmesan l, they hit the spot. Service has always been above and beyond. Regardless of if dining in or just grabbing to eat at home, we are always treated warmly and professional. I would recommend if dining in to check their high volume times due to its a smaller seated restaurant but if you do have to wait, I highly recommend the wait. Between the great quality of service and food, it's a place that you have great options on food and the employees are personable. The Lakes will continue to be my new favorite local gem and I hope if you give them a try, you'll support them happily the way we do now.

The service felt off from the start. It honestly felt like I was bothering the bartender (I believe his name was Caz, or something close). I even tipped on the fly after winning 30 bucks on the machine due to making me play to get the seat (no one was there) but there was still zero hospitality or acknowledgment. What stood out even more was watching the staff prioritize someone yelling across the bar, while completely overlooking customers who were actually sitting there and trying to engage respectfully. Coming from California, I'm used to a higher level of service and attentiveness. This just wasn't it. There are plenty of other local bars in the area that value their customers' time and money. We've been here several times and we find some HITS and some misses. The biggest HIT might be the French Dip. This was really great on two different visits. I also remember that the beef bourguignon was also very good. Desserts are always worth the calories and have been very good. The biggest miss might be the HK Burger. I was expecting a phenomenal burger since there is a $500. option for it (that I didn't try) I tried the just HK Burger $28. I asked my server if it was ground in-house. She said that it was. I also asked about the blend of meat it was and she said that she would have to ask the chef. She came back and said that it was Linz meat from Chicago. So that really didn't answer my question but that is what I got. I order my burger medium and with the salad side instead of fries because I know to have dessert here. My burger comes out almost well done with a kinda burnt roll. My server does check on us and I do tell her that my burger is cooked past medium. She insist on making a new one. During the wait the manager comes over and offers to get me some fries while I'm waiting. I declined (because I'm saving room for dessert) He also questions me about the medium cook and asks me if I mean pink or red. I said I mean pink. We wait what seems like a very long time. I finally get the new burger. It is cooked much less and can pass as medium-rare but I'm happy that it isn't well done again. My peeves are that this burger has very little beef flavor. It also can use some salt and pepper because this burger seems completely unseasoned. My other peeve is that the truffle brioche bun is served slightly burnt again. This came with some sort of sauce that came separated with an oily top. It wasn't for my taste so I used some of my husband's ketchup. I eat 1/2 and take the rest home to my dogs so I have room for dessert. I was surprised not be checked on but I saw my server was too loaded with tables to check on us. We tried the chocolate tart with orange sorbet and it was delicious. The manager spoke to us on the way out. On my next visit I will get the French Dip and dessert.
