Bar inside of a grocery store
    Anabelle D.

Yes this is a full bar inside of Smith's Marketplace grocery store. It's located by the bakery department. All grocery stores should have bars inside them to make shopping more tolerable and inspire folks to spend more money. What a great concept! We came in and ended up ordering a few wine flights and even took a few bottles home with us that we sampled for the first time. Thanks to our bartender for being attentive and funny. We need more of these places everywhere.

Best local bar anyone could ask for! Amazingly cheap draft beers with a good variety and rotating taps. My wife always loves the wine selection too. The bar tenders are all great and super quick with the pours. Grab a beer and knock off a few items on the grocery list! What more could a man ask for?

We recently moved to Las Vegas, and a friend told us about this bar. It sounded too good to be true, but it lived up to the hype!! We met our friend there around 3:30, there were only 6-8 people there. He said wait, it'll fill up. They have beer and wine by the glass, and it's really reasonably priced. It's clean, the people are friendly and you can people watch!! They have a couple TVs for games. We saw they have a Trivia night-that could be fun. We will definitely go back, we had a great time.

What a FIND this was!!!!!!! Social Hour is a bar INSIDE of The ENORMOUS Smiths grocery store in the Skye Canyon residential area. We had been up to Mt. Charleston during the day and were heading home looking for a spot to grab a couple beverages. BINGO Great selection of beers & wines at reasonable prices This is a very local spot. Repeat customers. Most folks knew 1 another. "Cheers" like atmosphere w/horseshoe bar. Friendly folks And, you can grab a meat/cheese board & sit at a table & enjoy your drinks. Will definitely return to this unique spot. Very nice Smiths store to shop in after your visit to "Social Hour".

Who said it's not cool to hang out at the grocery store?!?! What a fun and cool little place situated inside of the Skye Canyon Smith's and what a great idea too! My wife and I often stop in for a quick beverage and to just talk a bit before we get our shopping on. We also often see a lot of people just relaxing, playing different games they have available (Connect Four, Jenga, etc) or even enjoying some fresh Sushi or Cheese and Crackers from right there at Smith's! I don't think I've ever seen Social Hour empty...and it's often quite crowded in the afternoons, evenings and especially Friday evenings. They also have several TVs that are usually playing sports. They usually have about 12 different "pulls" or taps for beer that change through the different seasons and to maintain a constant variety. They also have about 16 different wines available split between different whites and reds. The staff is very knowledgeable including their very own local "Sommelier" who usually has samples, specials and recommendations throughout the day. All in all, it's fun to stop in and hang out and definitely gives you a great reason to run to the grocery store for that one item you need! LOL If you are in the area, I highly recommend you check Social Hour out!

Lawrance was the bartendar and he was awesome! SUPER attentive to everyone at the bar. I've been wanting to try this place for AWHILE now but I live on the south side of town. I honestly didn't really know what to expect but a friend and I went on a Tuesday night around 7pm. I thought there would proably be no one in there but it was actully pretty busy! There seemed to be about 3 or 4 different groups of people hanging out drinking. A couple people had food they purchased in the store. We ordered a wine flight each, they were $12 a piece. Not bad for a flight of wine if you ask me.

So we just spent 6 hours hanging here. Playing games and drinking beers. If you have not been to my Smiths and you live around here please go. The beers and wine are super cheap. It's just a good time.

Such a great time at Trivia night! If you plan to go it does get a bit crowded so go a little earlier to grab a seat. Bar tenders were fast and were able to get to everyone in a timely manner.

I was told to sit wherever I wanted, so I took a small booth. Mondays are 50% off food for locals and that was the thing that drew me in. They give you free chips and salsa and let me tell you, their salsas are very good. My order was taken very quickly and I ordered the chicken taquitos and carnitas street tacos. Oh, and they have Coca-Cola products which is a plus! The chicken taquitos were ok, nice presentation. A little over fried but not too bad. The carnitas tacos were not good because they had way too much salt. I had them sent back and replaced with chicken wings (buffalo). These were fried in beef tallow, another plus. The wings were really good and I would definitely order them again. The wings came with fries and they too were good. Fries were cooked perfectly, slight crisp crunch and fluffy inside. The waitress apologized for the salty tacos and took them off my bill, which I appreciated. I will be returning to try other items and will update as necessary.

We visited on Friday, for lunch, with a party of two and it was a good experience. We arrived and…read moreseated ourselves in the dining area. The place is large and clean. The waitress arrived and took orders, their margaritas are tall and refreshing. We started with Chicken Nachos. They were constructed strangely, they put the refried beans on the plate itself, under the chips and other ingredients. You had to lift up the nachos to scrape the beans off the plate. We then went with the Ribeye Steak and Chicken and Waffles. The steak was cooked beautifully. They initially brought out hot honey instead of syrup for the waffles, which was confusing. Their "Hash Browns" are actually potato sticks. There were only 2 women working as servers/bartenders, so the speed of the service was a bit slow. We ended up waiting quite a while for the check. Overall, not a bad spot for a bite and a drink.

My friend Dana said, "Hey, there's a local restaurant near me that I go to all the time... and…read morethey're having a FREE BBQ Saturday night!" Free BBQ?!? It didn't take much to twist my husband's arm... though we weren't 100% that this would be anything much... because, as my husband said, "Nothing's free... and what do they get out of it? and how are they doing this... in this economy?" We arrived promptly at 4PM, because we knew it was "first come first served"... they had a DJ and a TON of games, raffles, free alcoholic beverages, swag (tshirts, beer cozies, pins, stickers, custom-designed etched wine glasses), various stations of fun activities... and... the entire restaurant was part of this... So of course we sat our party of 5 at a table in the main restaurant section... and proceeded to... order full meals and drinks from the menu. Listen, the prices are RIGHT, the food looked incredible, and technically they weren't going to serve the BBQ until 5:30... so... we figured we'd have an hour and a half to digest. I ordered a salad though... because I was dead set on some ribs or pulled pork or something... BBQ-y. My husband ordered the BLT with tater tots, and others in our party ordered sandwiches, fried raviolis, among other items like martinis, lemonade. Our waitress was so attentive and darling, really took care of us the entire time. At 5:30 the BBQ happened. Myself and one other from our party were ready, whilst everyone else had already had their fill with the menu items. But boy did they regret the fact that there was no more room in their bellies... because the BBQ spread was INCREDIBLE: A full salad with all the fixings, RIBS (!!), hamburgers (full size, wonderful patties!), hot dogs (delicious!), chili, mac'n'cheese, watermelon... my goodness it was an immense spread. And all was cooked superbly! And again, plenty of free alcohol as well. As I spoke to the other locals around the BBQ, I kept hearing exactly what my friend Dana said, "We live 5 minutes away... we come here ALL the time... we LOVE this place!" The vibe was COMMUNITY-CENTERED... it was obvious... and as the raffle winners were called, the entire place exploded into claps and whistles as each of the winners' names were called. Golden Knights jerseys, golf caddies, backpacks... it was all soo lovely, but those prizes were just icing on the cake... a "cake" consisting of a true LOCAL restaurant and it's COMMUNITY... each expressing their support for each other. My husband and I were floored. And humbled to see the entire event play out.... something you don't see enough of anymore. May Summit Tavern continue to enjoy their success in the neighborhood, and may other establishments learn from Summit Tavern's success! And THANK YOU... for a wonderful evening, Summit Tavern staff and all who made the night truly special.

Understanding that over time, places can trend one way or the other, I took another chance to give it try. I went later at night - around 10:30-ish. The bar area was relatively slow with a few patrons at the bar and one high top occupied. The bartender was friendly - no issue there. The biggest thing is that the menu items are quite pricey for small portions. One example would be the Chicken Tenders - $15 for 3 pieces. That's quite a bit and it was OK. Even the bartender said that he would tell the to make sure it's cooked well and more crispy. If a place was spot on - it would always come out consistent, especially a chicken tender which should be crispy. Overall, for the experience and food with associated costs, it was just OK.
