Bar inside of a grocery store
Anabelle D.

Yes this is a full bar inside of Smith's Marketplace grocery store. It's located by the bakery department. All grocery stores should have bars inside them to make shopping more tolerable and inspire folks to spend more money. What a great concept! We came in and ended up ordering a few wine flights and even took a few bottles home with us that we sampled for the first time. Thanks to our bartender for being attentive and funny. We need more of these places everywhere.

Best local bar anyone could ask for! Amazingly cheap draft beers with a good variety and rotating taps. My wife always loves the wine selection too. The bar tenders are all great and super quick with the pours. Grab a beer and knock off a few items on the grocery list! What more could a man ask for?

We recently moved to Las Vegas, and a friend told us about this bar. It sounded too good to be true, but it lived up to the hype!! We met our friend there around 3:30, there were only 6-8 people there. He said wait, it'll fill up. They have beer and wine by the glass, and it's really reasonably priced. It's clean, the people are friendly and you can people watch!! They have a couple TVs for games. We saw they have a Trivia night-that could be fun. We will definitely go back, we had a great time.

What a FIND this was!!!!!!! Social Hour is a bar INSIDE of The ENORMOUS Smiths grocery store in the Skye Canyon residential area. We had been up to Mt. Charleston during the day and were heading home looking for a spot to grab a couple beverages. BINGO Great selection of beers & wines at reasonable prices This is a very local spot. Repeat customers. Most folks knew 1 another. "Cheers" like atmosphere w/horseshoe bar. Friendly folks And, you can grab a meat/cheese board & sit at a table & enjoy your drinks. Will definitely return to this unique spot. Very nice Smiths store to shop in after your visit to "Social Hour".

Who said it's not cool to hang out at the grocery store?!?! What a fun and cool little place situated inside of the Skye Canyon Smith's and what a great idea too! My wife and I often stop in for a quick beverage and to just talk a bit before we get our shopping on. We also often see a lot of people just relaxing, playing different games they have available (Connect Four, Jenga, etc) or even enjoying some fresh Sushi or Cheese and Crackers from right there at Smith's! I don't think I've ever seen Social Hour empty...and it's often quite crowded in the afternoons, evenings and especially Friday evenings. They also have several TVs that are usually playing sports. They usually have about 12 different "pulls" or taps for beer that change through the different seasons and to maintain a constant variety. They also have about 16 different wines available split between different whites and reds. The staff is very knowledgeable including their very own local "Sommelier" who usually has samples, specials and recommendations throughout the day. All in all, it's fun to stop in and hang out and definitely gives you a great reason to run to the grocery store for that one item you need! LOL If you are in the area, I highly recommend you check Social Hour out!

Lawrance was the bartendar and he was awesome! SUPER attentive to everyone at the bar. I've been wanting to try this place for AWHILE now but I live on the south side of town. I honestly didn't really know what to expect but a friend and I went on a Tuesday night around 7pm. I thought there would proably be no one in there but it was actully pretty busy! There seemed to be about 3 or 4 different groups of people hanging out drinking. A couple people had food they purchased in the store. We ordered a wine flight each, they were $12 a piece. Not bad for a flight of wine if you ask me.

So we just spent 6 hours hanging here. Playing games and drinking beers. If you have not been to my Smiths and you live around here please go. The beers and wine are super cheap. It's just a good time.

Kaipo C.

Such a great time at Trivia night! If you plan to go it does get a bit crowded so go a little earlier to grab a seat. Bar tenders were fast and were able to get to everyone in a timely manner.

There's a real community vibe at this bar where I see so many groups of friends come together for some drinks and even better, can get some grocery shopping done.

The portions were huge, completely loaded, and the meat was seasoned so well unlike a lot of places. We ordered Pastor fries and a carne asada burrito it took one hour and 15 minutes for them to bring the food out and the worst part was when it came out we got fries with the wrong protein instead of Al Pastor they brought Carnitas and it was so burned we weren't able to enjoy them. We let the bartender know. He said that he would let the kitchen know incorrect our order the Pastor fries never came out. We ended up just deciding to cancel them and call it a night. Burrito came out after a long time of waiting This place has great potential, but unfortunately, this service was terrible.

We had a little of all the best items on the bar bites menu. With a some drinky drinks to wash it down. The Poppers- were freshly made and you could taste it. Well balanced cream cheese with a nice half slice of jalapeno deep fried to a crunch. Bang Bang tacos (shrimp)- hands down my favorite item from what we chose. Amazingly cooked shrimp with fresh cabbage to give it that double crunch that I love. And some flavorful spice to make it all the better. And the unspoken hero's That pumpkin spice martini or espresso... I forget the name but it was addicting. Not overflowing with pumpkin flavor and just enough espresso taste made it soooo smooth. The churro donut holes speak for themselves... I would have ordered 5 plates.

The place is a typical bar/tavern, with high tables/chairs, bar with games, lots of TV sets. If one is looking to relax with a drink and appetizers in a comfy sofa this is not the place. This does look like it's a fun place to unwind. They seem to have all kinds of daily and monthly specials. The service was good, but the food was great. They have a good enough selection. So we got the potsticker, chicken wraps, poppers, nachos. Every single dish was scrumptious. We especially liked how they prepared the nachos --- seems like they layered the nachos and the sauce unlike other places where they just pour the sauce on top and the bottom nachos don't get any of it. We also ordered a bowl of their roasted tomato soup which turned out so tasty. Chef Julius himself brought out the soup and when we told him it's one of the best we've ever had, he brought another serving to take home with us. Now, that's a great way to build a business and encourage customers to keep coming back. All together, our experience was very good, and the only suggestion I would make is to have a variety of seating --- break up the tables and chairs with some comfortable sofas, armchairs.

I normally do not like pizza and would be the last thing I usually order when I go out to eat but I am addicted to summits pizzas! They're perfectly crispy but doughy and they load it up with plenty of toppings. I love their running rebel (which is like a supreme but better) and their bbq chicken pizza (dip it in some ranch yum)! Also if you're normally a pasta girly like me, I also recommend all their pastas! Especially the blackened chicken Alfredo! YUM!! This place is clean, non smoking, family friendly and plus they play some pretty good music on the weekends, it's a vibe with the pool tables and darts which makes a fun date night too! Will always recommend this place to family and friends!

I can speak of the food I've ordered though, and to start off I do have to say their onion rings are incredible, in fact maybe the best I've had anywhere in Vegas. Lovely crispy batter with an amazing crunch and flavor but also not greasy like fast food ones. Good size portion too. The Chicken Tenders are nothing short of awesome, and a good hearty portion at a very reasonable price. They come with fries and choice of dipping sauce. You can also pick two different sauces for the chicken and have them tossed or on the side. I prefer the latter so I can dip my tenders. Their Tide sauce which is a spicy honey Bourbon is a great flavor, and also Mango Habanero, both are my favorites. They have some more spicy options and rubs too you can choose from. Their fish and chips are ok but also a bit underwhelming and not a very generous portion for the price. In fairness I'm a fish and chips snob since I'm from England originally, and there's only one place in Vegas that hits the mark for me (which I won't mention here since that would be unfair). With that said, the fish itself is pretty good and has decent crispy batter, chips are the usual pub fayre, again nothing special. Overall though, I'm pretty sure anyone that likes pub style food will find some favorites here so if you're in the area it is definitely worth giving a go.

All the food here has always been good. Ambiance of this place is nice, it was not crowded, a few people at the bar and I was the only table. I've had the server I had last night before and I'm just not impressed. First she comes to the table and acts like she is just meeting me for the first time? I just let it go because I knew where this service was headed. I ordered my food and I asked for the salad to come out first. Normally that means please bring the salad and give me a chance to eat it before you bring the food out. Well not to this server, but she did bring it out first! She brings the salad out and I maybe got 3 bites and then she brings my food out. I look at her and I say, "already? That was fast? I asked for my salad first thinking I'd have time to eat it before my food came out"? She laughs and says, I told the kitchen to space it out but he just put it up so??? And walks away?? Really?? You're going to blame the kitchen? So I push the salad aside and turn to the meatloaf because I'm not going to let that get cold. A really nice young lady came over and introduced herself as the Manager on Duty, she was also one of the bartenders and asked if everything was good. I told her the food was great but the server? I explained the above about my conversation with this server. She said she was really sorry and would take the salad off my bill. I told her no, I come in all the time, I ordered the salad, I'm taking it home and it will get eaten so please do not take it off the bill. She gave it a good effort but eventually she left it on the bill which I was thankful for because it came home and got eaten. So, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Timber's, the food is really good. This location does not have pizza but other locations do. Lastly, I get boxes for the salad and the rest of the meatloaf, I bag everything up, the server asks if I want anything else, I say no, she tried to push dessert HARD, I continue to say no thank you, thinking she will just bring the bill. Nope, she goes back to the bar and starts chit chatting with one of the bartenders. After watching this for a few minutes I put my hat on hoping she will get the hint I'm done; (food in boxes, food in bag ready to go, not needing or wanting anything else).... The Bartendar notices I put my hat on and sends her back over. I pay the bill, thank the young lady who is the manager on duty and leave. Second bad service experience in two weeks with this server. Next time if she is serving, I'll be sitting at the bar. The server is the reason for 3 stars otherwise it would have been higher.
