There was a small rose garden along the walking path in front of the stage, with built in benches around it in case you need a seat. Lots of beautiful open grass space, incredible playground, and impressive an coffee stand. This is what our communities look like when we invest in them. Great job La Puente local government and residents. You all rock! The basketball courts looked fun as well! I don't play but plenty of young people were enjoying all the recreational offerings as we older folks danced the night away!

When I enrolled my child in the Parent and Me class, I specifically asked whether both parents could attend. I was clearly told yes. I was also informed the class would be held at the playground. When we arrived at the playground, no one was there. I had to call to find out the class was actually being held inside. After going inside, the instructor informed us that only one parent was allowed to attend. Roxanna then referenced the flyer and stated that "Parent and Me" meant only one parent, insinuating that I misunderstood or could not read it correctly. I have attended many Mommy and Me and Parent and Me classes in the past, and when only one parent is allowed, it is clearly specified on the flyer. This flyer did not state that limitation. She then told me that I should have contacted Tiny Tots directly for information rather than relying on the front desk. This was my first time visiting this park. There was no way for me to know that the information provided by staff was incorrect or that it was my responsibility to verify it elsewhere. The conflicting information, poor communication, and dismissive attitude made this a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I hope staff receive better training so families are given accurate information and treated respectfully.

Location can be confusing and parking is limited. But def a place I'd recommend if people needed a venue.

The sun already set and it's dark but I still check out a short part of this trail and other people were on this trail as well, walking, jogging, biking, walking their dogs so it was dark but it was not scary! Today what put fear in me was graffiti being written with the words " NIGGERS GTFO." As a woman of color I do not feel safe in my community with seeing this on display on government property, I have also experienced hateful remarks by others in the Baldwin community in the past however, seeing it in writing on a public structure is very disturbing and a red flag. In addition, I have video footage of the concrete evidence, with the graffiti and the park has surveillance. Im afraid to address this with Barnes Park and Baldwin Park Police because BPD will not do anything about it. I will never return to this park or bring my child. Might as well relocate to a more welcoming environment that does not reciprocate hate towards minorities and that is more so ever safe. Barnes Park should be held liable because they left this hate on their property. Security should had pro trolled and documented this offense.

It gets crowded, so toddlers may enjoy nearby Primrose Park. A major plus is that the bathrooms are located inside the air-conditioned community center. The shaded benches are a bit far from the play area, so keep that in mind. Overall, it's a great spot with plentiful parking, a nice walking loop, and well-maintained pickleball courts.

My partner and I really enjoy coming here to play pickleball nowadays. There are 8 permanent courts. The courts are super busy on weekend mornings and less busy on weekdays. The queue system is fair and efficient. I only wish they would keep the pickleball courts open until later. They usually close around 8pm, which seems kind of early. In my opinion, this is one of the cleaner and better-maintained parks in the area. There is a pleasant walking path. I always see people walking their dogs here and families coming here for a stroll around the park. There are parking lots on both sides of the park, as well as plenty of street parking all around. However, when there are events going on at the park, parking can be a bit difficult.

Instead of a weed-filled, dusty and unsightly lot, the community wanted a safe, fun space to take their families. So after a decade-long wait, the 4.3 acre park finally opened in 2012. AMENITIES + 2 quarter-sized outdoor basketball courts + beautiful murals & dedication plaques throughout + butterfly garden ( with educational kiosks & decor throughout - learn how to say butterfly in MANY languages!) + grass playing area + meeting room + outdoor picnic areas with shade available for rent + restrooms + skate park (partly in the shape of a butterfly!) + small amphitheater + splash pad (certain hours/seasons apply) + swings + various sized play structures + walking path CONS - so many weeds - graffiti - dirty women's restroom - homeless hangout (living in their cars) Even with these easily-manageable cons, it was still a pleasant park to visit. My 7 and 9-year-olds loved the skate park area when we were there on 7/8/22. The older kids were all nice.
