A must stop while visiting hermann. We had salads and the house bread appetizer. My wife had the meatball sandwich and i had their lunch specual. The house bread came with goat cheese & honey. I was a bit skeptical at first, but the honey was a perfect balance for the goat cheese. In the end, it wouldn't matter what you dipped that bread in, it would taste amazing! The pizza here is good! I would recommend only that Ordered two pizzas and two appetizers for the five of us. Pizza was good but the two appetizers were average at best. It's hard to give this restaurant a bad review, because the Pizza was excellent. However, the service that we received for our party of four was horrendous. When we walked in, there were no clean tables. It was about 30 min. before closing time. A table was cleaned for us and we were seated and our server immediately came over and asked "Do you know what you want"? He seemed very angry and it was extremely obvious that he was irritated that we were there close to closing time, even though there were many other customers in the restaurant. We were not ready and he angrily came over every 2 minutes asking the same question. We finally ordered and then endured this server's rudeness throughout our entire meal. We felt extremely rushed and felt that we were wasting our money on a meal that we could not even enjoy. The server put up the "CLOSED" sign promptly at closing time or maybe even beforehand and he seemed desperate to get off of work. People were also being turned away who walked in 5 min. before closing and customers calling in for carryout orders were told they were closed when it wasn't even closing time. We've had instances of being rushed out of restaurants in the past, but never before has it been this blatant. Based on how rude this server was, I cannot recommend this place nor will I ever go back again. This server should not be dealing with customers at all because he is driving them away. read more

We've been trying to visit 4th Street Pizza the last few times we were in Hermann, but we've always been here on the days they were closed. Luckily, this time, we got it right! Everything about this place was great. The service was excellent, the pizza was hot, fresh & the crust was delicious. The tomato sauce was also excellent- no processed, heavy tomato sauce-- just fresh tasting tomatoes. The house salad was large enough to split between 2 of us & the large pizza leftovers served as lunch the next day. The only thing I would have done differently, would be to have our large pizza sliced into smaller slices or squares. They were too big to eat! The employees were friendly, attentive and personable, and the place was clean & spacious. We will definitely be back. read more

Came here tonight and the pizza is good. I would highly recommend the honey and goat cheese with bread. It is only $5 and the amount of goat cheese they give you easily costs that in a grocery store. It was very delicious. The staff were friendly and our food came out pretty quick. If you want pizza (or goat cheese) in Hermann, come here. read more

This is by far our favorite place to eat in Hermann. Tried it last summer and had to come back for more this year. Always clean, good service, and some of the greatest pizza I've ever had. I never write reviews but felt compelled to do so after our experience yesterday. We had heard a lot about 4th St and were excited to try it out. After being seated our waiter came to take our drink order and was quite short with us about giving him a quick order. Then we waited for 20-30 more minutes without having him come back. Having been in the restaurant business I thought I would help out our server and order up at the cash register since it was busy. After waiting in line and getting up to our waiter he quickly told me that he would not take our order at the counter and to sit back down. As I was walking away I heard him say "You just need to get out of here". After this, we put cash on the table for our drinks and quickly left. I was extremely embarrassed and disappointed by this behavior, will not be back to this place. read more

Menu board boasts dough and sauce is made in house, and it is delish!! We ordered the supreme and the ingredients were clearly fresh and full of flavor! We were told that most of ingredients are local too! Bonus!!! We regretted not getting a salad this time as we overheard return customers recommend the fresh ingredients used in their salads too! I ate the Pesto pasta and it was excellent! Really delicious! The bread that came with it was also very good. I got a small portion and it was plenty although I kind of wished I had ordered a large, because it was so good. That would not have been a good idea. LOL My husband got the pizza and the bread was delicious. He said it had too much sauce for his tastes. You may want to request them to make it light on the sauce. It was fast and hot. Unbelievably rude. I have no idea how the food tastes, nor will I ever find out. I downloaded this app tonight specifically to make this review. I placed a carry out order and then had an emergency with one of my 4 month old twins and was unable to pick up our food. I still wanted to pay, but the restaurant does not allow payment over the phone. The woman on the phone repeatedly asked if the business was supposed to "eat the $40 cost of my order?" I told her I would love to pay, but have no way to make it to the restaurant as I was dealing with an emergency. She then asked the same question again. I responded by asking what would she propose I do? She then hung up on me. Aside from mailing them a check I don't know how else to handle that. From previously working in the food industry, I can tell you pizza is one of the cheapest foods to make, and being a decent human being is priceless. Perhaps this business should invest more in the quality of their employees. The quality of their food remains a mystery to me, however the quality of their employees is pure garbage as far as I can tell. read more

House made dough has great consistency, not too thick not too thing and just a bit chewy. The sauce is well made and flavorful but not overwhelming. Pizza options are pretty classic choices, but done with fresh ingredients, nothing like a typical small-town 'House of Pizza' where everything was canned or frozen. I had a salad couple apps here too and was pleased with both of them. The salad, again was a refreshing revitalization compared to most pizza places; no ice berg and the tomatoes were great, house made dressings are a plus too! Local beer and domestics available on draft. Draft beer and pizza, not much better than that. Highly recommend stopping by and getting a pie. read more

Not your ordinary small town pizzeria, all the ingredients are incredibly fresh and the pizza is very high-quality. Crust is perfect, not too thin or thick, and no greasy slices to be found here. Selection limited to classic pizza topping choices. In addition to pizza, we also enjoyed a few drafts, appetizers, and salads. Beer on tap ranges from Bud Light to local craft beers--great selection to please different tastes. Salads were impressive, lettuce and produce was crisp and fresh, which is a breath of fresh air compared to the after-thought most restaurants serve. Like everything else, the dressing is house-made. Wow. This place is for real. The pizza was some of the best I've ever eaten, no kidding. I'm very particular about pizza sauce because I don't like it too tart or too sweet, and I want enough to be able to taste it, but not so much that it overpowers the other ingredients. This was perfect for me. The crust was relatively thin in the middle, crisp on the bottom, but still flexible, with the perfect thickness around the edge. Suggestion: after you place your order, get up from your table and go stand by the counter and watch them hand stretch and hand toss the dough. It's impressive. According to the owner, they make their own dough, bread, dressings and pizza sauce. The side salad was surprisingly good, and appeared freshly made with a good selection of lettuces, cherry tomatoes and cheese. We had a party of eight, so we ordered a supreme and a meat-lovers type pizza, plus sepveral appetizers, including the pesto bread, garlic cheese bread and spinach artichoke dip. All were excellent. Some of our party opted for pasta dishes, which they said were excellent. Two large pizzas was more than we could eat. They are not stingy with the ingredients! If you like supporting small, family-run businesses, I highly recommend this place. read more
