I would like to express my gratitude to Alicia for her assistance. She was wonderful! Unfortunately, the remainder of my experience was not great. Upon entering the dressing room with multiple pairs of pants, I discovered some were mislabeled in sizing. Which wasted a lot of time having to go back for correct sizes. The women's EMT section is awful. Very few options. There was only 1 shirt in my size, L. I traveled almost 2 hours to shop at the Paramus location. I also needed boots. They didn't carry my size in any black boots. I also found mens shirts incorrectly labeled in size. To top it off, after arriving home I realized the employee did not pack the correct clothing in my bag, making this trip completely worthless. I called and asked for a manager and was Informed one was not available. Never again! Awful! read more

So glad, that 5.11 Tactical opened this store. They have every item imaginable for any outdoor activity. They carry everything from very nice business casual attire to rugged footwear and the store is Immaculate. Staff members are very knowledgeable and give great recommendations. Don't hesitate to stop by and look at what 5.11 Tactical has to offer. You will be pleasantly surprised and satisfied with their products. read more

You don't get what you buy, te return system is a joke, returned something and they sent me back the same product with a fake order number to complain, don't buy here, use Amazon is cheaper and better read more

Tactical type clothing and shoes for the military or law enforcement type person in you or just very durable sensible clothing. Great belts. Great selection. I used to have to order online and not be able to try things on now we have a store like this locally. There are a lot of items on sale with pretty big discounts and they have a clearance section as well for low pricing. The merchandise is of high quality. read more

History

Established in 1930.

5.11 Tactical is a company that started out making climbing gear, specifically pants, in the 1930s in the Yosemite Valley. The pants were called "5.11 pants" as a reference to the Yosemite Decimal System, a method of measuring the difficulty of recreational climbs, where 5.11 signified an impossible climb. The company gained popularity among law enforcement in the 1990s when an FBI agent wore the pants to the FBI National Academy and other agents took notice. In 2003, the company recognized the growing demand among law enforcement for these products and refocused the company to cater to the growing tactical market. They sold everything but 8 core products that fit this new tactical vision and rebranded as 5.11 Tactical.

Rather then ask what he could do for us, he told us how much money they payed for displays. We told him how that didn't do much for any empty store. He told us how they'd been in business for 47 years and they didn't need us!! We certainly don't need you either. Thanks for the memories though. It was once an incredible store with equally fine salespeople.
