Great products & pricing. Worth the drive to Saukville. Knowledgeable, helpful, & personable staff…read more Didn't make me feel bad that I didn't have a huge budget. Highly recommend (& I don't say this lightly).

Thirty Years of Ford Loyalty Ended by One Visit to Schmit Ford…read more I rarely write reviews like this, but after more than 30 years of owning Ford vehicles, my experience at Schmit Ford in Saukville was extremely disappointing--and ultimately unacceptable. I brought my Ford F-150 Raptor in for routine service and warranty work, one of which was a simple warranty issue: a defective plastic tailgate molding. I clearly communicated the issue at drop-off and explained exactly what needed to be replaced. Instead of addressing that concern, the dealership replaced the entire tailgate step assembly--an unnecessary repair costing nearly $3,000 that I never requested, never approved, and would never have agreed to. After becoming increasingly concerned about the unauthorized repair, I independently located the correct part on Ford's own website for under $200, confirming exactly what I had originally requested was available and appropriate. At no point was I contacted for authorization. I was later told Ford would not approve the work and that I would be responsible for the cost, despite the fact that the repair itself was initiated by the dealership without my consent. That alone is completely unacceptable. With the dealership being unwilling to accept responsibility and them telling me that we owed $3,000 for the unauthorized repair; I instructed the dealership to remove the parts they put on and reinstall my original components, and return my truck. Communication throughout the visit was poor from the start. I was left without updates, and when I needed a rental vehicle through my Ford Extended Service Plan, I was initially told they "didn't know how" to arrange one and that they either didn't have rental accounts set up or couldn't access them. For a Ford dealership, that explanation is difficult to understand and even harder to accept. I was advised that they had one vehicle loaner but that it was out on an other body shop job. They were unable to arrange a rental car which I was entitled to based on the work being done and my Extended Ford Warranty, but I was told they could not arrange anything as they do not have any account established with a single rental car company. On several calls trying to figure out what the delays were on my truck I was informed they were short staffed, not trained/familiar and "new" to the ford side moving over from the dealers other Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge building. To make matters worse, when my vehicle was returned, I immediately noticed visible body damage in the area where the work had been performed. This was not minor or ambiguous--it was clearly new damage that occurred while the vehicle was in their possession. Despite this, the dealership denied responsibility. What should have been a straightforward warranty repair turned into an unauthorized major repair, days of confusion and delay, poor communication, failure to properly administer warranty benefits, and damage to my vehicle that the dealership refuses to acknowledge. After decades of loyalty to Ford, I never expected to experience anything like this at a Ford dealership. Based on what occurred, I cannot recommend Schmit Ford in Saukville.
