Beware Of "Up-Selling"…read more We decided to try out Cedarburg Auto Safety Center for a $60 oil change. We were then asked to buy a tire rotation that was supposedly on sale for $20. Five minutes later, as the oil change was underway, we were asked to buy a new cabin filter for $94.53 plus fees and taxes. We said, "No." Soon after, they tried to sell an engine air filter for $57.52 plus taxes and fees. Again, we said "No." Five minutes later, the person at the desk went out to the repair bay and retrieved two rectangular filters: a cabin filter and an engine air filter. The filters they showed us weren't that soiled. In fact, any debris they contained looked like it could've been tapped out over a waste basket, or possibly blown away with compressed air. She continued to push: "If this is what your other place did, you need to talk with them." Again, we turned down the Cedarburg Auto Safety Center offer. In dealing with service operations, we learned long ago not to engage in up-sell strategies. Simple rule: "Purchase what you came to purchase -- nothing more." So, will we go back? Probably not.

I called ahead asking specifically for an oil change and was quoted around $55 by Ken. He asked what maintenance code my car showed, and I told him B-1, but I was very clear on the phone that I only wanted an oil change and understood that a full B-1 service would cost more. I also explained that I was already aware I needed new tires (TPMS light was on) and that my rotors may need replacing. When I dropped my car off, I again explained what I already knew my vehicle needed. While I was at work, they called to tell me about additional services--information I had already provided at drop-off. Dan who may have been one of the techs asked if I wanted my CVT fluid topped off. I declined, explaining I could handle that myself since it would be an extra charge. I also requested they plug a nail in my front left tire since the car was already there, even though I could have had it done for free at Honda. When I picked up my car, I was shocked to see that I had been charged for a full B-1 service, which I never approved or authorized. I genuinely believed I was paying for an oil change and a tire plug. When I calmly tried to ask for clarification and find a solution, Ken became extremely rude and aggressive, saying things like, "Do you think I'm spamming you?" and "Take your keys, take this, and never come back." I was not disrespectful--I was simply trying to understand why I was charged for a service I did not consent to. I paid for the services, but the way I was treated was completely unacceptable. I will never return and would not recommend this place to anyone who expects clear communication, honesty, or basic respect.

We've been using Car-Isma for a couple years and they have always been upfront, honest and fair with pricing and the service has always been exceptional. They let us know of any factory recalls and will always check if a needed repair falls under warranty so we can deal with them properly. When I went to the place to pick up the "truck", they showed me a van. They had no trucks for rent at all. They quoted a low per mile rate on the phone and when I got there, it was $.60/mile higher than the quote. Then they tell me they close at noon so they won't be there when I get back, so I would have to come down another day to pay. But I won't be able to pay with anything but cash or check. I wasn't able to go pay on the Monday after renting it, so I get a call Tuesday morning asking me to come in and pay. I tell him I can make it today or tomorrow. He (the owner) says, "No, you will come in today to pay!" So in short: Quote not accurate Wrong vehicle quoted Had to return another day to pay No way to pay but with cash or check Very rude owner I will not recommend this place nor will I return.
