We are not from the area. We randomly picked a Mexican restaurant out of the few in town. I am happy to report that this place was great! All the staff was super nice and very helpful. A lot of options to choose from. My wife and I got the combo fajitas. The chicken was not dried out and still juicy. She ate all of her beef so you know it was good. It was not tough. The queso was just right. Not too watery and not too thick. And these flour tortillas are to die for. I got extra just to take home with me. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Have stopped in 10+ times. The food is usually good. NEVER stop in for weekend breakfast, you'll wait 45+ minutes for eggs. Menudo, seven days a week, but mostly broth. They charge $1 extra for chopped jalapeno/serrano and another $1 for hominy (flavorless, added in at last minute). UPDATE: We stopped going there. Service has gone downhill and parked at rude. Rude doesn't bother me but your food better rock! UPDATE II: I needed a menudo fix so I stopped in. Food and service have improved, ate there three days in a row. read more

The asada and the pastor tacos are to die for as well as their charro beans. This place is way better than the nearby competitors. Stopped in for afternoon lunch on our way from The a Woodlands to Austin. I got taco salad with extra tortillas to make my own tacos. Salsa and queso was pretty good together. My husband got the three beef enchilada dinner. the beef was finally chopped but tough with gristle the cheese over the top with some kind of processed Velveeta-like cheese with peppers. when we told the waitress he couldn't eat it she took the plate away, the manager came back over, never offered to make it with white cheese, just said I'll give you a discount since you already ate half of it. He had not ate half. so he paid $7.00 for a plate of stuff he couldn't eat. I got the three flatas dinner and really liked it the sour cream and guacamole was a good addition. The food is alright, better than some.....But beware of dirty dishes. My family and I decided to stop in a grab a bite on Sunday afternoon, we asked for an extra plate, the one they brought to us still had food stuck to it, I pointed it out to the waitress, she apologized,took the plate away and brought us another, the second plate even had stuck on food...Yuk we decided to leave, we waved the waitress down and told her we were ready to pay our ticket. It took almost 30mins before she even brought one to us, and it was more than what we figured (our calculated price with tax $ 24.32, the ticket came out $27.88) we came to the conclusion that the tip was added. And I'm the type of tipper that starts out at 20% and then work down based on type of service. read more

We recently moved to Magnolia and had heard great things about this restaurant; however, we were greatly disappointed! Our order was a takeout, and I had a whole fried mojarra. First of all, it was either severely over fried or had been leftovers from a couple days prior because it was very dry, had no flavor, and the fish was tough! The fried rice that accompanied it had no seasoning aside from whatever vegetable oil they used to cook it with. My husband had a torta that was mediocre at best. Nothing special to it! Decor is definitely not like a Mexican place but the food is fast and good. I don't know if everything is made before hand until served or what but it comes out quick or in the drive thru. I've heard their breakfast is what they are known for but haven't experienced it yet. Went here bc it was reviewed so highly, was sadly disappointed. I came from a largely Mexican populated area in Alief to Hockley. Read about this place and wanted to try it bc I was craving some good Mexican food. Got here and it seemed like you typical Mexican food joint with the colorful decor and the music but the 2 red salsa that came out with the chips were gross, I had asked for other options for salsas and I was brought a green sauce which was great and a habanero sauce which was not as good as the green sauce but much better than the horrible 2 red sauces. I was told about a very spicy black sauce but they were out. Ordered my Mexican street tacos and they were much better but not great. I would say average at best. The wife got A gordita with chicharon in the green sauce. Also not great. Kids got a fajita burrito and chicken nuggets. Burrito was good but in my opinion fajitas are very hard to mess up but that's just me. The chunky guacamole was definitely not made fresh but really didn't expect it to be made to order. It was very lemony, which is a trick used to keep it from browning, also the tomatoes were not red and not ripe for eating. I was highly disappointed in my dining experience and will probably not return. Staff was very friendly, but food was just blah. read more
