Great place for a cocktail with a view and live music. We went on a Sunday at 5pm and a guitar/singer was performing. We sat in the sandy area. You get a great view of the intracoastal and the boats sailing by. There is a covered bar area. We had good service. They serve food, but we didn't have any. Bonus, there's a nice fire pit in the center of the patio with Adirondack chairs. Ahhhh. It's also located directly across the street from the Margaritaville Resort where my friend was staying. This tiki style bar was our final destination by our Fort Lauderdale water taxi which docked alongside the bar. The beachy atmosphere with a monster lit fireplace was the perfect place to have a drink and chill. Nothing super fancy at this place but a million dollar view of the intracoastal while sitting at the fireplace or watching football at the modern quartz top bar. At the far end if the property under a big tiki hut was a guy playing old rock and roll sings with his electric guitar and modest voice. Total tourist attraction to be honest. The food is ok and the beer and cocktails are middle of the road. The staff was friendly but if you're in a hurry to do anything understand your on island time. 12 people in the establishment and it took 35 minutes to get our food. I'm not complaining because we just watched the boats go by and were enjoying our vacation. You're sitting right on the intercostal waterway so you have an awesome view. The burgers were all overcooked, but not too bad. If you take the water taxi you get 15% off your food bill which they have obviously already figured into the pricing. We stopped here for a drink before taking the water taxi up to Ft. Lauderdale. It's perfect that this is the Hollywood pick up spot for the taxi since you can have a drink while you're waiting. And you're allowed to bring it on board! This restaurant bar has a great unobstructed view of the intracoastal water way. The bartenders were quick and friendly. I'm a local who has eaten at every restaurant on the broadwalk. I haven't been here in 6 years, and I was pretty disappointed. Firstly, there is no happy. Second, service was extremely slow. Third, food was only decent. I will say that for $20 the dockside burger is worth it. On the other hand, the calamari was not good; there were many hard pieces. Make sure you wear flip flops because the tables are in the sand. Also, there's live music daily. Prices are crazy there a margarita is 14 bucks in a 7 ounce cup really ? Also had the coconut shrimp with fryers and coleslaw . My wife and I visited 5 o'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill twice during our stay in Hollywood and truly enjoyed it both times. We arrived for sunset and sat in the bar area, which was a great way to end the day. Ashley was our server on both visits, and we can't say enough good things about her. She was warm, welcoming, answered all of our questions, and made excellent drinks. She checked in on us frequently--without ever being intrusive--and made sure not just we, but everyone around us, had everything they needed. The food was good overall. We had the peel-and-eat shrimp, coconut shrimp, veggies, and the Caribbean Bowl with carne asada. Our only complaints were that the food was overly salty on both visits, which took away a bit from the experience and the carne asada portion was rather small for the price. Other staff members passing by were also friendly and made a point to say hello. I've become a regular here. It's a great hidden gem. They open at 11:00 and have a small brunch menu. $20 picture of mimosas and a $15 brunch platter while overlooking Holland Park and the Stranaham River. They usually have a pretty chill music playing and sometimes have djs. They also have a fire pit table that I assume they use in the colder seasons. Service is usually pretty good, better at the bar, but the view from the Tikis on the sandy area definitely is worth the wait read more

The host Angel seems clueless. We arrived and didn't see anyone for at least five minutes that looked like staff other than the waitresses delivering beer to customers. He'd go into the kitchen for a bit and we would see him for long periods of time. I overserved him saying whatever under his breath to a young couple with a young child after the dad/husband said something to him. There is no reservation system or phone for that matter. The host declared he had to make a new wait list. Waited more than 20 min waiting for someone to figure out if there was a table available or not.. We watched groups leave. Finally got out table but waited more than 10 min for waitress to come by. She took our drink order and when she came back asked us to order. Didn't share any specials and I had to ask about the catch of the day. The menu is extremely limited. My Lagerhead beer was flat. Now waiting to see how long it'll take for our appetizer (it's been more than 15 min and counting for a crab cake) let alone the entrees we ordered. Update - the entree was delivered less than 60 seconds after the appetizer. We couldn't see what we were eating because they didn't put any lights at our table. The food was okay. That said, sauces overpowered the taste of the appetizer and entree. Definitely would not come back solely based on the host. Second update: Got the bill and they add 1% as a Public User Fee and the wait staff state it's a tax by the city when it is in fact a money grab by the developer.
