As I transition from relaxer to natural, I reached out for guidance on color, and she went above and beyond by doing a test for me at no charge, which I really appreciated, especially since other places I contacted quoted a fee. Her customer service was exceptional from start to finish, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her clients. I even tried to tip her for her time, and she graciously declined. I've been a loyal client for years, but after sharing a truthful and respectful review about my mother's experience, I was denied future service which is incredibly unprofessional and petty. My review simply pointed out that she was charged for small braids and a blow dry WITHOUT being informed those would cost extra. Also if it was informed then they need to add it to the service list which they have not. Her hair was already relaxed and straightened, and there was zero communication about additional charges until checkout. This kind of pricing surprise is misleading and unacceptable. What's worse is that instead of taking accountability and improving their customer communication, they chose to silence me. That speaks volumes about how they handle constructive criticism. A professional business should prioritize transparency and integrity and take accountability, not shy away and hid from all there problems If you're running a business, it's your responsibility to be upfront about costs-not quietly add charges on the side and wait till it's time to pay to speak up! Update: Waited all day and did not receive a call to get this matter resolved. Since there is a no refund policy...I'll be disputing the charge with my bank...so unacceptable! I wanted to love this place but I'm so disappointed! I contacted 5-star Weaves yesterday about getting my hair done, a quick weave. I received a response quickly which was great and got the appointment an hour later. During my visit, the shop was clean and inviting and the staff was friendly. The reason I went with a quick weave is that I did a big chop 2 months ago and didn't have enough hair for a traditional sew-in. My hair was braided down on the top, and a glue protectant was used. A cap was used along with some black wraps. I was placed on the dryer for a few minutes to mold. I purchased hair directly from them and received a full closure quick weave bob style. Let me add, I've never done a quick weave before, outside of gluing tracks down myself years ago so I wasn't sure how long the style would last or the full process. I asked my stylist how long it would last, and she was vague, just stating I would know when it was time to wash it out. I left the shop around 5 pm and everything was fine with my hair when I got home. In the evening I started to feel the cap underneath get loose in the back of my head but assumed that was normal. Before going to bed I wrapped my head with a scarf and placed a bonnet on top, which I do with any style. When I woke up this morning and pull off the bonnet the cap holds the quick weave had popped off the top of my head and the braids were exposed. I was so surprised! I'm not a rough sleeper and I've never had issues with hairstyles lasting for weeks. I tried pulling it back down, but it wouldn't stay down, it's like my quick weave turned into a wig that had no clips. I immediately contacted the shop because at this point the whole quick weave came off. I took pictures and requested a callback and refund. I wasn't aware the shop closed on Monday so I finally received a reply a couple of hours later and was told they don't do refunds, but I could come in for it to be re-done. My frustration is that I paid for a service and not even 24 hours my weave fell out! This was my first time trying 5-star Weave, and I wanted to love it. I'm sure they do great sew-in service, in fact when I was there, I saw a few ladies getting sew-ins that looked beautiful, but I'm not happy with my service. Due to my schedule, I don't have time to get it re-done, and the purpose for getting my hair done is ruined and I have to find an emergency alternative, which means more money out of my pocket. I spent $285 ($135 of it on hair) and it's a complete waste. The owner or shop manager seemed apologetic, which is the reason I'm giving 2 stars, but there should be exceptions to the no-refund policy for situations like this...it's not a loose track or something that happened a week later....my whole quick weave fell off 12 hours later because it wasn't properly secured. They have a side where you get your hair braided by a braider, whoever is doing the actual sew-in comes over for a brief consultation to figure out what you are getting, part location, how many bundles etc. They sell their own bundles as well. Then, once that is done, you go to your Stylist for the sew-in to be completed. I went here one time years ago and they did a great job, but I never went back until Feb 2021. I honestly don't know why this place has negative reviews. I have been getting my hair done here for 3 years now and EVERY time my hair comes out great. Porsha does my hair majority of the time. However, regardless of who does it it's always superb. I also saw comments about how it looks. I don't think it should be a problem about how the place looks as long as it's not dirty and disturbing. I honestly think this place does excellent hair. Yes some teenagers work there but they're only braiders so what's the big deal. If you're looking for a reasonably priced place to get your hair done this place is perfect. Sew in Its was my second time visiting the shop and my experience was amazing. Owner Porsha was my stylist and from the moment I entered the shop, the energy was perfect. I went here at the end of august and got a weave. A month or so later the tracks are already coming out. This is after the horrible service and them taking forever to do my hair anyway. Don't go to the shop. For almost $200 it should last longer than a month. Nevermind the fact that they did a horrible job with the braiding, their braiders are rude and terrible and they don't all wear masks. On January 23, 2016 I had my hair done at the salon. It was really pretty, but on February 2,2016 my weave started to coming out, I brushed my hair and this my track was hanging. The young lady that done my hair didn't sew my weave in tight enough and the back part of my braids are loose. I paid these people 110.00 dollars. I Honestky believe that they sew it in loosely so in two weeks you will have to return to have it tighten. The staff was somewhat friendly, however the job was definitely rushed. So much so that not even a week later part of my sew in was coming undone... also, there was an upcharge for absolutely EVERYTHING. I was up charged for the following: Not cutting the weft( mind you most of it was already in several pieces as I was reusing this hair) Braiding my hair in small braids? Which was not true as it ended up very thick and noticeable Using a net. The fact that my hair was long So basically after all these uncharges I ended up paying $115 I don't mind paying this amount if the job had been right. Best sew-in experience ever! I had to evacuate Florida due to the hurricane and came to Atlanta. I called around multiple salons to get a appointment and needed to find someone that could do a flip-over method sew-in. I found 5 Star Weaves and they were able to book me a appointment the next day, they knew how to do the flip-over method sew-in, very professional, the facility was nice, and all the ladies were very caring that I had to evacuate Florida. I also loved my hair and they did a better job then my regular stylist in Florida! I highly recommend 5 Star Weaves and will come back next time I'm in town visiting family;-) read more

My first experience with a Miata was pretty good. My second experience with another person (she never told me her name) was not enjoyable. She came in a little late and the only thing she asked was how I wanted my hair. I purchased the hair from the shop. The hair is not a good quality. It tangled and sheds badly. My brainless sew in is pretty good. I wish she would have shared info on how to care for my hair and the maintenance of this type of sew in. 2/14/2020 I arrived at 10 I waited over 30 minutes for a braided to arrive ( I was told after 15 minutes she will be here in 8 minutes). The young lady arrived took down my hair with child scissors so this took forever. While taking out my weave, she is on the phone. Someone is locked up and needs to get out because they have babies. Smh! I told her while she was washing my hair that my weave needed to be reinstalled. So it needed to be washed. I sit back in the chair she blow dries my hair then eventually goes to was the weave. Meanwhile, the other braider who is not working on a client eventually says let me braid you. So now I have to wait on my hair to dry. Now I'm waiting for the stylist to return. She eventually comes in. Porsha does two sew ins and the young lady in front of me does two wigs and a sew in and I'm still getting sewn in. They do not do hair rinses so she sprays this stuff in my hair. I didn't get my hair styled because I could not stand to inhale the smell of cigarette smoke on her breath or clothes any longer. It was 4:00 I left looking like...... hmmm my husband asked "did you pay for that"? When I arrived home with all of the black spray on my face. Needless to say, I'm absolutely done! For 230 I should have Atleast been happy. I do not feel that you should have to wait on employees to arrive when an establishment opens. Also, kids should not be aloud to run around the salon! It's an experience for the customer. If the employees can't have their kids sit in one place and behave, maybe they shouldn't be there. read more

This salon is packed because of the so-called $49 sew-in weave. That is just a hook. In order to get a sew-in with some hair left out it was $85. Within a week I had to go back to get a track sewn back in because part of the bang was falling off. Then, two days later, in the back of my head, the track completely detached from my hair. Also, there were 9 inches of thread (2 pieces) hanging from the front of my hair. The braids were too dang tight and I had a headache for a week and a half before I figured out how to loosen the braid and get some relief. The stylist who did my hair did not layer it properly and thus when my curls fell it looked horrible. It was straight all over even though she somehow got it to look layered the day it was done. I feel several loose tracks and found another piece of thread exposed. After just two and a half weeks, Ive got to take it out because it LOOKS like weave. They nickel and dime you to death. I went along with it, because I wanted a sew-in so badly and had already waited 2 hours before I was seen. It was my first sew-in and my last experience with ONE STAR WEAVES! Just an overall poor job and bad experience. The stylists are loud and ghetto. Portia (my stylist) is a chainsmoker whose breath and smell of smoke all over her person are extremely offensive. STAY AWAY! I wish someone had told me. Don't believe the hype! read more

This is the worst salon in all of Georgia, if there are any shops worse than this one they should not be in existence. I have been to several salons in different areas that catered to different hairstyles that I've had over the years, this particular shop is a shack that the owner tries to call a business, which would be okay if they actually provide good customer service, which is not the case Porscha and her so called staff (1 person)as well as her stylist or incompetent. Porscha has been recorded stating in her own words that she is not out to please her customers and that if their style does not come out correctly it is their own fault her staff member/office manager is a joke. In a very kind serene voice she said herself we just tell customers to go somewhere else if they're not happy here we are not really worried about taking the time to make you happy when it's best if you just go somewhere else. Porscha has stylist in this shack that are teenagers most not all and when asked how long they've been doing hair they lie, Porcha's training is improper and she really needs to rethink her business model, or better yet not own a business. read more

Okay I just left the five-star weave shop and the owner Porscha explained to me that me as the customer being unhappy with her stylist service is my own fault not any fault of her shop or stylist who placed a weave incorrectly admitted that she did it incorrectly but advised Porsha "that now I tried to correct it and she doesn't like that either "it was a very shabby and poor job and Porscha said well it's your own fault then she had her office manager Nicole come up and say well we can't please everybody and we tell people if they come here and don't like it go find another place we are not out to try to please you just find somewhere else to get your hair done. I have a recording a Porsche saying three times well it's not our fault it's your fault and then a recording of her saying yes that's how I feel. Steer clear of this shop if you value your hair this shop has no integrity from what I see and they make no excuses about it they let you know they really don't care about the people that come in there if they don't like what they get it really doesn't matter. I did the $75 full closure sew in and i have to say it looked wonderful..the first day.Besides being ridiculously tight. I have had many sew ins that usually last up to 3 months. Week 1 my TRACKS started to come really loose in the back. Week two they mesh cap closure they sewed onto to my hair started to come a loose along with they hair they GLUED onto in. Week 3 you can finally see my braids. like really. 3 weeks before i started to look a hot mess because of a crappy sew in job. I have NEVER experienced this bad of hair experience. read more

Just moved to Atlanta from Baltimore I was referred here by a coworker who is a client of porscha's. I had the most pleasant experience from making my appointment showing up with my 2 daughters being welcomed into a very clean upscale lobby area. I received the 5 Star net weave which came out Fabulous. My 17 yrs old got the $49 sew in by Millia she was happy as well as my 5 year old who got braids.. this place exceeded my expectations very happy from start to finish. She gives you one price over the phone but after you get there and get braided, she raises the price. She charges $20 for cut and style BUT SHE CAN'T CUT! WHAT A WASTE!
