Stay away from Eddie. This guy runs this company, 5 Volts electronics. He was assigned through our warranty company, he came to my house where my elderly parents live , to work on our stove (Burner related issue). He made three attempts to fix the issue and did not do a good job, he definitely does not know what he is doing. on top of that he removed the screws from inside of the stove and left them outside without screwing them back in and on top of that, left the gas open. Horrible experience. He was hired by our warranty company to repair our dishwasher on 8/3. As of 8/13 he had not come to the house but said he ordered parts. I contacted him yesterday to find out status and he said he only has one of the two parts. I called my warranty company and told them of my status and they informed me that he just submitted the claim this morning (almost two weeks after he said he did it). LG sent out Eddie from 5 Volt electronics (who was a nice tech) but unfortunately after replacing the screen on my LG TV something went wrong with the wiring component when he plugged my HDMI it fried all my components (denon receiver, dish receiver and blue ray player). He agreed to reconnect the receiver for me once I replace but something is wrong with the wiring that it fried all my components. Beware. Now I am out thousands of dollars with no luck from Eddie or LG thus far. read more

Our technician (I think he might be the owner) was astounding. He went through a lot to get our washing machine working and, at the end the price was very fair. I kind of felt like I was robbing him. He was very trustworthy. The manufacturer caused him to waste some time through their incompetence and he didn't charge us for that time, even though he had to take multiple trips. While it may seem obvious that this is the way it should me, past experience tells me it is very uncommon. If I have another device that needs to be repaired on my dime, I'm calling 5 Volt, first. I'll call them even before I call the manufacturer for a list of repairmen. I can do it that way because this experience suggests they will either be up to the task and do it right or they will tell me it's not their wheelhouse and direct me to the right person. 5 Volt is an excellent resource to have located in Las Vegas. read more

I came on here to complain about how this company completely dropped the ball on my dishwasher repair but I see that plenty of people have beat me to it. This tech was sent to me by Choice Home Warranty for a dishwasher repair and after a couple of visits, during which the repair was not completed, the tech never returned or responded to my texts. When he did finally respond, he stated he'd call me back and three weeks later I still have not heard back. I am now having to fight with my warranty company to complete the job without having to pay for another tech to come out. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY and if you're a Choice customer, do not let them foist this joke of a company on you. UPDATE: I've just been informed by the warranty company that they already paid him for the work that he did not do. So not only is this guy a joke, he is a CROOK. My LG OLED Tv which is a 65" had a vertical line on the screen, still under warranty, I called LG for an authorized repairman. They recommended 3 different phone numbers. So I called the first number, went to an answering service, then I tried the second number and a technician Eddie answered my call and came by looked at it, took a few pictures and explained, that the unit has a screen problem and needs to be replaced. Eddie...silly silly Eddie. Why does this guy still have a job? I bought the brand new, top of the line LG washer only to hear a very loud and high pitched grinding noise after the 2nd load. I called LG about the warranty and they called the service center here. I was told by LG that my appointment was in 2 days between 2PM and 5PM. 5:45pm rolls around and Eddie calls asking what the problem was. I told him what was going on and he said he was sure it was just vibrating the drain pan. He wanted to order some part (not a new drain pan) and come out. 3 weeks later he shows up the day after scheduled to be here and after I called multiple times to get a hold of him. Once inside my house, he turned on the washer and stared at it. Didn't look under it or take it apart. I showed him a video I took of the noise it made and he was completely baffled. Had me send him the video so he could send it to LG. Another week goes by without word so I call LG to end his order and schedule a new service call. They tell me that he had ordered a drain pump and was supposed to bring it out. No friggin way it was a drain pump issue. This guy is a joke. Don't let him in your house read more

Was assigned by my home warranty to fix washer / dryer and an appointment was scheduled. Tech contacted me, the day before the appointment, to ask me the model number of the machines... he said he needed that info to order the parts to make the repairs. I thought, either this guy is so amazing, that knows exactly what's wrong without even checking the machines, or he's running a scam. So, he said he wasn't going to be able to come on the scheduled day, because he had to wait for the parts to arrive. A couple of days later, he said the parts were in, so he scheduled to come. Of course, as soon as he arrived, he said that he had ordered the wrong part.... That he was going to have to order some other parts for the washer, and he said that he was going to send someone else for dryer. A week went by, I tried contacting him, and nothing. Went back to the warranty company, and they tried contacting him too. Waited a couple more days, and went back to the warranty company.... I was told that he had not responded to them either and that they had already paid him for the parts and service!!... so had to wait and call a few more times until the warranty company sent someone else. Our home warranty sent this company out to our house because we were having problems with our dishwasher. I scheduled an appt originally for Tuesday, the tech Eddie wasn't able to make it and asked if he can reschedule for Friday. He was asking what was going on with the dishwasher and if I could send a picture of the model number. He said it would make things easier (he wouldn't have to come to the house) and he can check to see if they already have the part or if it needs to be ordered. He said he would need to buy something that would get out all the water at the bottom of our dishwasher. (That was our problem) I'm expecting a phone call on Friday, it's already noon and I haven't heard back. I check the status with my home warranty on my claim and it says it's closed. I call to find out what's going on and I ask why is it closed, he never even came to my house yet. So they get a hold of him and tell me Eddie will be calling me. He calls me and says he will be at the house on Monday and also asks if I have towels to soak up the water in my dishwasher. He gets there and presses a few buttons and got it to work. Something we weren't able to do that's why he was there. But we find out it's a plumbing problem, and it wasn't the dishwasher itself. He tells us he can't fix it. Its plumbing problem, but the way he said it was as if we are supposed to know that. And then he made a comment that if he would've known he wouldn't have ordered the part. Every other company I have dealt with would come to check things out first. He was the one who decided to just call instead of coming out to the house to see for himself, he wanted to save time and make things easier. I'd rather not deal with this company again. read more

Last night my dryer went out. I called LG this morning and the person on the phone walked me through some troubleshooting and ended up with me having to call a repair person anyway. I was given 3 LG recommend companies and 5 Volt Electronics was one of the 3. I went on Yelp to check reviews and 5 Volt looked good. I own a small business myself and know that people can sometimes judge harshly and I want to look at the positives and then base my opinion once I have given a person the opportunity. So here is what happened. Today is Sunday and I reached out to 5 Volt Electronics for my dryer . I did not expect a call back today as it is a Sunday. About an hour later the phone rings, it was Eddie from 5 Volt Electronics. He said he was working today and could stop by to take a look at my dryer. He said he could be by around 2 pm, I thought it was amazing that he would make time on a Sunday. I let him know that if there was anyway to come before 2 would be wonderful as I had a 2 pm event. Eddie rearranged his schedule and got to my house at 1 pm. He took the dryer apart and found a bunch of dog hair that was clogging my flow sensor and prevented the igniter from working. After a thorough vacuum and clean up, I was up and running. When my dryer was put back together I received the bill and was blown away by how reasonable it was. This man came out on a Sunday, was honest and did not try to sell anything extra, did a beautiful job and charged a very reasonable price. I wish I could give him 10 stars to make his average a 5 Star because my friends this is 5 Star service. Thank you Eddie, you are the best! I think 5 volt is OK. They might be really good, but my home warranty company (Choice) is HIGHLY INFERIOR. Took almost 2 weeks for them to fix tenant oven. Choice controls the shipping & I think they ship everything lowest priority so 5 Volt was at their mercy. If I was 5 Volt, I would distance myself far from Choice Home Warranty. Set up an appointment for service through LG. Service was "supposed to happen" the following day between 10am and 5 pm. I personally called to see if I could narrow a time down and who ever answered told me they were with a customer as would call me back. I never received a call back and no one ever showed up for their scheduled service. I wasted a whole day waiting for them to call or show up and neither happened. NEVER USE THIS PLACE! read more
