Wow, what a great little place. We just sort of stumbled on this whole house shopping near Simms and Quincy. Seafood and steak is like a mating call for my wife and I so we opted to stop in. We were immediately seated by a beautiful young woman that was chatty and fun. Our server was a young man named Austin and he was spot on. Fast, efficient, outgoing and friendly. I ordered a club sandwich which was, hands down, the best club sandwich I've had lately. Even the fries were top notch. My wife had our realtor had the steak sandwich and both loved them. Three meals, three drink and a beer came to fifty five dollars. That's extremely reasonable. Don't let the strip mall location fool you, this place a real gem and clearly a favorite among the neighborhood locals. We are going to come back in the future and try the dinner menu.

This is my go to spot in the area for their fish fry! Usually order to go and the order is correct every time. All their food is amazing, especially the fish and burgers. Highly recommend

The fried fish, salads, baked potato were very good. My porterhouse steak was very disappointing. Full of grissle I could hardly cut through. At least a third of the steak was not edible. Steaks I've had in the past were not like that. Service was very good. Served by 3 different servers. Ambiance is very comfortable.

Totally worth the trip! What a great place... super friendly staff, eager to help You pick the right item. We went in for Sunday breakfast... they only service breakfast on Sundays. It was amazing. Ordered an extra plate for the table so we could try an extra dish! There was a Broncos football game happening that day so the place was hoping with excitement with the locals ready to cheer them on! It is definitely a hometown feel with a strong Broncos feel. It was inviting me to sit down and enjoy the meal and take in the ambiance.

How did I not notice this gem? I bought my paddleboard with their next-door neighbor! They're 8.5 years old and they make the best steak salad! You can load up on meat and veggies all in one meal. They make them delicious! Im so happy @yelp suggested them for early dinner. They're next door to Home Depot on the other side. Their prices are almostunheard of. I think my Rib Eye with a side of fries and salad were $17. They have a full bar and when we were there service was above average fast. If you're in Morrison drop by and support a local owned small business!

    How is the walleye?

5281 has some of the best fried fish on this side of town!

Do they have good fish and chips?

I liked their Fish and Chips, good batter. I liked the batter over the breading at Yabby Hut. Almost as good at GB Fish and Chips on Broadway. Lots of other great choices on 5281's menu. They are easily accessible to those of us on the West… Read more

Does this restaurant deliver or have take out options?

No delivery but we have ordered take out once, it was a pretty smooth process but be warned sometimes they don't answer the phone. So I would say take out is hit or miss.

Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and kindly answered our questions about various dishes. Food came out fast, and several staff members passed by to ask us how everything was tasting. I started off with a strawberry lemonade and it was incredibly refreshing on a hot day. The charcuterie was delicious and we enjoyed every bit of it. Fruits were sweet and the pickled vegetables were especially good. Grilled cheese and tomato soup were very good, although I've had better elsewhere - Beechers in Seattle and tomato soup in Iceland, but I know that's not a fair comparison. For dessert, we ordered bread pudding, it was yummy and the perfect end to our meal. The ambience was nice and not too loud inside. Wish I was local, so I can dine here more often. Online, you can enter the number in your party, and enter the virtual queue, which we did. Our table for four was ready when we arrived, and we were seated right away. Our server was great, good energy, and made multiple recommendations on the menu, including what may have recently changed, or been updated, on the menu. He highly recommended the strawberry margarita, noted that it wasn't sweet, and that they make all of their syrups, flavoring etc. in house, and this was a standout newer addition. He was right - it was delicious, refreshing for a hot summer day, and best of all, not overly sweet. For dinner, I had the filet, which came with a generous portion of super creamy, delicious mashed potatoes, asparagus, and the most wonderfully flavorful au jus. My steak was perfectly cooked the way I like it (medium rare). The dessert, a 'creme brûlée' was not at all your typical creme brûlée, and honestly, for me, fell a bit flat. I think it was made with some type of goat cheese, didn't have the lovely custardy/smooth consistency, volume, or depth. The fresh fruit on top was nice, but I only had a bite or so of this dessert we shared. Maybe call it something else, or alternatively, make sure when people order it they know it's non-traditional creme brûlée. Otherwise, wonderful meal, with great friends and we will absolutely be back!

It's modeled after a real historic fort in southern Colorado and brings a definite southwest vibe. Service is very spot on for a restaurant of this caliber. Food is great and priced to come with high expectations for quality and taste which I think they delivered on. Steaks were huge and cooked perfectly. Sides and any number of options available but I just like horseradish with my ribeye. Salads and appetizers were great. Table was swamped at one point and staff was great to help manage things so that you were not feeling awkwardly limited. Drinks came fast and delivered on expectations including ordering a Jim Bridger which is no longer on the menu but available for locals who care. Dessert was so good and wow, enough for four people to share. Also, bread was on the table and delivered hot and fresh. From start to finish we had a fantastic experience. Highly recommend The Fort.

The vibe is classic cozy steakhouse--dim lighting, comfortable booths, good for a casual night out. We kicked off with the shrimp cocktail, which was good: decent-sized chilled shrimp with a tangy cocktail sauce. Asked for extra raw horseradish to really make it pop! The new bread offering was much better. Super-soft sweet rolls were an upgrade over the previous offering. For mains, we tried the ribsteak (bone-in) and the sirloin with mushrooms and truffle from the Winter Grill menu. Both were cooked to our requested temps (medium-rare), juicy enough, and the grilling was competent with a nice char. The ribsteak came with sautéed mushrooms that added some nice flavor. The sirloin featured cremini and shiitake mushrooms in a creamy truffle sauce, which was rich and indulgent--the sauce was probably the best part of the plate. That said, the quality of the meat itself felt a bit questionable; it was tender but lacked the deep, beefy flavor or marbling you'd hope for at this price point. More disappointingly, there wasn't much discernible difference between the ribsteak and the sirloin in terms of taste or texture--both felt pretty similar, which made the higher-priced ribsteak seem less worth it. We finished with the Billy Miner Pie, a classic here: mocha ice cream on chocolate cookie crust, topped with hot fudge and caramel. It's rich and satisfying--definitely a highlight of the meal. Our server was friendly and efficient, no complaints there, and the place wasn't overly busy. Overall, it's a reliable chain steakhouse option if you're in the area--good enough for what it is, but the main reason we come here is proximity. Solid, but room for improvement on the star of the show: the steaks.
