We've been wanting to try La Rocca since it opened but happened by chance this past weekend when our favorite restaurant up the street had an 80 minute wait time. Fortunately enough, La Rocca was able to squeeze us in. Firstly, the service here is absolutely impeccable. Our waitress was lovely and the bussers were in and out seamlessly. I was a little disappointed in their drink menu, nothing sounded enticing but I decided to try the white Negroni. Pretty but wasn't really a fan. Burnt nettle flavor. I should've just gone with wine. We started with the calamari and rosemary bread to start. The calamari was cooked well, the style wasn't my favorite though. The bread and butter were amazing. For the entrees we had the elk, layered lasagna, rabbit fettuccine, and the filetto. These were all very good, with the exception of the filetto, which wasn't bad by any means, just excessively earthy and blah. The filet was cooked perfectly though. For dessert we had the tiramisu, blood orange key lime, and the crème brûlée. Two of three were good but the tiramisu was inedible. Really surprising for an "Italian" restaurant. I didn't complain, but for the spectacular service otherwise, I was surprised that the waitress didn't ask. Also surprising was that it was my son's 18th birthday and they knew this and didn't even bring a cup of ice cream or something. Not necessary but definitely strange given the level of the establishment. Overall, we had a very lovely experience here. Would I go back? Yes. Would I choose it over my favorite up the street? Great restaurant with fantastic food. Such a pretty place. I loved the decor and a cozy fireplace. It's a finer quality and experience and that comes with a steeper price. Service was excellent! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Food was really tasty and most importantly prepared fresh with high quality ingredients. Porcini mushroom beef tartare was a bit out of our comfort zone but it was surprisingly well balanced and tasty. We enjoyed it. We loved the salad with pears . Yummmm! The rabbit pasta dish was very flavorful and tasty but rich. We shared it and couldn't finish it. Desserts are amazing too ! Really enjoyed it! Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

La Rocca Rossa is one of those places you leave already planning your next reservation. We've been twice now, and both meals were absolutely outstanding. We started both visits with the flame-grilled shrimp and the caprese with burrata. The shrimp had that perfect char from the live fire -- smoky but still sweet and tender. The burrata caprese was fresh, beautifully plated, and balanced. Simple ingredients done really well. First visit, we ordered the short ribs -- deeply flavorful, fork-tender, and comforting without being heavy. Second visit, we went with the Japanese Wagyu instead, and wow. Perfectly cooked, buttery, and rich without feeling overwhelming. Completely different experience from the short ribs but equally impressive. But the true standout both nights? The lasagna. It comes out in a tin mold, and when they lift it off, warm Gorgonzola pours over the top. It's a dramatic presentation, but more importantly, it tastes incredible. The pasta layers are delicate, the sauce is deeply developed, and that Gorgonzola takes it over the top. It's one of the most memorable pasta dishes we've had anywhere. Service has been excellent both times -- attentive, knowledgeable, and well paced. The wine and cocktail program is strong as well, and you can tell they put thought into the overall experience. Yes, it's on the higher end price-wise, but this feels like a true occasion restaurant. Based on two consistently outstanding meals, it's easily one of the best dining experiences in Morrison. read more

Great, warm location on the main strip of downtown Morrison. A newer place, maybe working out a few kinks, but the food and service were outstanding. I made the easy decision to judge the cuisine on a the Caesar and steak standard. The Caesar was well dressed with unique pink lettuce - not to mention white anchovies, my favorite. There were a couple beef specials and apps, but I went with the filet, well cooked and melt in your mouth with a nice demi. The barley risotto was ok, not my favorite, but I still would order the plate again. An even bigger surprise was the passion fruit cheesecake, it disappeared quickly. Add this place to your list. Note: Yelp needs to do something to not amplify 1 star reviews by out of state reviewers with only 1 or two reviews. Two of which I unfortunately see on this restaurant. read more

I went here with some work colleagues and the experience was amazing! The atmosphere was lit dimly to provide a calm and quiet environment. Our waitress was very helpful in explaining the daily specials and was able to answer all questions we had about the menu. We took her suggestion on the wine selection and she was awesome in suggesting the wine. The food was very delicious! Some of the pairings seemed a little odd but trust me when I say the chef knows how to be creative and making the flavors work. The tartare was seasoned perfectly and was topped with a delicious quail egg. The elk tenderloin was the special of the day and it was cooked to perfection!! 10/10! I will be coming here again! If you're in the Morrison area, it is definitely worth a visit! read more

Amazing restaurant! The service here is amazing from the hostess, waitress (Jaiden amazing! so nice), and food runner. They made the experience even better. The restaurant itself is so so cute. Love this vibe. The tartare was definitely a leap but it was actually really tasty (if you like mushrooms!). The salad was honestly the highlight of the night, it was so fresh and well balanced, best salad i've had in a while. The rabbit alfredo was new for us but we really enjoyed that too. Great rich flavors, it was honestly perfect for too because of the richness. The tea was great too. Their lemon sorbet was exactly what I wanted, tart not sweet, very good sorbet. The hazelnut passionfruit special dessert was the highlight for sure, such a well balanced dessert. The blood orange one was just okay, the texture and taste was a little odd but still nice to try it. Overall great place I'd highly recommend if you're in the area and are willing to pay a little more for quality. read more

We celebrated our anniversary here and it was incredible! From specialty cocktails to delicious appetizers and entrees! The service was also fantastic. We ordered the fire roasted shrimp and burrata as our appetizers and wow so full of flavor! Next was the lasagna and short ribs. Presentation and flavor was so good. Opened in August at the former location of Cafe Prague. We really miss Cafe Prague but thought we would try out this Italian steakhouse. We were super impressed. Very inventive choices on the menu, food offerings We don't normally see. Waygu steak for a special, served with thinly sliced potatoes and granola! Bizarre but it works. Very tasty Octopus with both a pesto and a red sauce. They even have specials for the desserts! About twice the price of Outback but five times better. And service was excellent. Jacob, our waiter knew the menu well and helped guide us to good choices. The other staff did a great job supporting him. Ambiance? Much like Cafe Prague, but a little bit more light and airy. Nice place to spend a Saturday night celebrating our 38th anniversary. read more

Enjoyed the cocktails and appetizers, but they lost us with the entrees. Lots of very fussy ingredients that don't come together well. The proteins of each dish we ordered were great - cooked perfectly. But nobody in our group cared for the sides. The wagu steak came with a smear of edamame purée and a few sprigs of purple cauliflower - would have been so much better with potatoes and green vegetable. The salmon was nice, but came along side a strange assortment of things that looked so unappetizing and didn't taste great either. If they simplify the dishes a bit and just focus on good flavors, we might give it another try. read more

My husband and I had dinner here last night and were absolutely blown away by the food, service, staff and ambiance! We love food and have been to many of the top restaurants in the city and LRR ranks near the top! We shared all dishes- started with focaccia and marinated olives (bread and compound butter were so good we ordered some to go), Caesar salad then shared the porterhouse as our main. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare)as well as seasoned to perfection, broccoli was amazing and fingerling potatoes were delicious! We finished with the tiramisu and my husband declared it might be the best he's had. We will absolutely be back, soon! read more

Menu very limited, one steak only, offered for $144.00. I had overpriced lasagna instead and my wife ordered chicken, both overpriced al la cart for $42 and $38 respectively. The lasagna was oddly spiced and the chicken was served raw near the bone, it must have been frozen to start with. Went with another couple. We were seated at an uncomfortable table ( 3 on one side and 1 at the head with the other side next to the bar. Got to look at the backsides of the bar patrons during our very poor meal. Three of us got sick later during the night due to the food. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere. read more

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here in mid August, just after they had opened up. I made a reservation, which I would recommend. The entire evening was wonderful. The hostess greeted us warmly and seated us right away. The decor is very nice and the background music is not overwhelming. The food was fabulous as was the service. I would stack up La Rocca Rossa against any high end restaurant in Denver! We always enjoyed Cafe Prague and miss it. La Rocca Rossa takes it up several notches. read more

We had a really mixed experience. This restaurant replaced an absolutely BELOVED local place (Cafe Prague), and is now much more expensive, more pretentious, and DARK. Everyone was getting out their phones to see the menu, and it was just, well, kind of depressing in there. My huband's lasagna was great, my salmon was fine - but the polenta was absolutely tasteless. They are working out the kinks as a new place, and I wish them well, but it shouldn't cost $200 for a couple eat out in the very unprententious town of Morrison. Read the room, people. I just wish they would have planned to be better "new citizens" of the town. read more

We a started with a very original White Negroni cocktail--exquisitely refreshing, multi-layered, true to the spirit of the original Negroni but even better--and the wonderful Nutty Old Fashioned that we've enjoyed for years at Evoke 1923 in Evergreen. Spanish calamari with aioli, carmelized onions, and pickled peppadews was a sizable and delectable appetizer. The filet with wild mushroom barley risotto was perfectly grilled and the Hokkaido sea scallops were delightfully complemented by pan-seared gnocchi. Modest but very reasonably priced wine list included a really lovely Austin Hope Cabernet. Very busy but not noisy--we'll be back!! read more
