Vegas Roll using imitation krab instead of Smoked salmon

541 Sushi Bar is GARBAGE! I went there today and ordered the Vegas roll, Spider roll, Gyoza, Eel and Rainbow roll. What I ordered and was not what I received. Imitation krab was used in both the Spider and Vegas roll. The menu said that the Spider roll was deep fried soft shell crab. It was not. It was filled with imitation crab, NOT the actual full soft shell crab that is offered at REAL sushi establishments. That same went for the Vegas roll. The Vegas roll is supposed to be a deep fried Philly roll, which is smoked salmon, cucumber and cream cheese, that has then been deep fried. Again, instead of the smoked salmon, imitation Krab was used! I asked the proprietor what sushi was served to me and he insisted that the rolls he served me were what I ordered. It absolutely was NOT! And then he insisted on me paying for the order and argued about the price! He is substituting low quality ingredients for the smoked salmon and soft shell crab. I know my sushi and this place is a low class rip off. Their standards are sub par not only in regards to ingredients, but also hygiene as the sushi chef was doing multiple tasks between orders, like cleaning tables and unplugging the toilet all the while not thoroughly washing his hands between tasks or using gloves to touch raw fish. The level of filth, food quality, preparation, and the deception of ingredients is APPALLING! Do NOT eat there! You have been WARNED! Pictured is the "Vegas Roll" using imitation crab.

We really enjoyed our sushi here we had three veggie rolls. The chefs and waitress were all very nice. I loved how quick and efficient it was. It was also super fun to see all the choices right on the conveyor belt. I ordered a asparagus roll and the chef gave it to me. It had mayo on it. I didn't realize it. It was my fault and he remade it super fast with no problems.

I just recently moved to Eugene from a large city with a chain rotating sushi place and 541 Sushi Bar blew it out of the sky. The fish was fresh, flavorful, and well-priced. The prices are the same whether you eat-in or order to-go, which I appreciate. Also, other sushi places these days almost never have real wasabi, just that fake horse radish stuff, but 541 Sushi Bar does. I studied abroad in Japan and have been chasing the real deal ever since-- this is it! It will burn your nose hairs off the way god intended, so proceed with caution if you're used to having to add a ton to get any spice at all. I got my nigiri to-go, but I'm looking forward to dining in sometime soon. Sometime veeeery soon.

This is a very welcoming place with really well made sushi and Ramen. Right downtown with parking. The prices are reasonable with a good assessment on the menu. They have vegatatarian options as well.

    DELICIOUS california roll!

Went at 8pm (understanding they close at 9), usually I can be pretty nervous about coming in to sit and eat at any restaurant close to their closing time, just because I feel like they don't want us there or they're rushing to get us out. BUT here, they were really friendly, food was made SO good and really quick, and great music!! Everything was clean, we were never rushed, and the waitress even helped us out with a couple helpful tips! Manager should be proud of their waiters and cooks!

Just posting the new menu and ordering form :) you gotta try the Manhattan , red dragon, or rainbow roll!

i love when my food spins around so they got me with that, however this place felt a little empty even though there were people in it. the sushi was good, i liked the yellowtail, the tuna was good as well. they played newjeans so bless but the music was quiet. the service was quick and our server was nice i think the place was just lacking in ambience.

Nice interior, and was waited on quickly. My waitress brought water, and took my order for green tea. It came quickly, a full mug, and a lovely little cast iron teapot with a second serving. Good tea, too! I ordered the nine piece Hamachi sashimi (on a diet... no carbs, lol)! I was brought a six piece... and let the waitress know that. Told her the six piece would be fine for now. Lovely presentation, and the hamachi was beautiful. Fresh too, no fishy odor and the color was good. It was delicious. I would eat here again!

Today I went and got a 'Caterpillar' roll and 'Day Dreamer' roll. Let me break it down for you. Caterpillar roll: AMAZING 10/10. I love sushi and this is a go to roll for me NO MATTER WHAT. This roll is always good, but Sushi Pure makes it amazing, the taste, texture, and fulfillment it brings is unmatched. Day Dreamer roll: Very Solid 7.75/10. This roll had me in a chokehold for a second. That's neither bad or a good thing. The taste all around was very good, but the texture through me off (more personal problem, so many of you may love this). It was like soft, then crunchy, then popping due to the fish egg. All around I would recommend, but it may not be for everyone. The servers I've had both times have always been so kind, quick moving, and motivated so the service is unmatched as well. All in all, Sushi Pure is a must try with an amazing atmosphere!

Wasabi - like, real wasabi! I kept dabbing in my mouth never having tasted it before. It's both spicier on the front of your tongue and more luxurious on the back. I want more. The fried chicken bao was unfugging, unbelievably delicious. Can we say unfugging on Yelp? We got the Mrs V roll - spicy tuna topped with seared beef. Again, buttery with Rich beef and tuna that's actually spicy. Excellent roll This was an elegant, refined and completely delicious experience. We will definitely be back.

Our server didn't smile and seemed so impatient when we asked questions about the menu. He was going off the clock and flippantly said, if you need anything ask the other guy or the bartender, both of which seemed disinterested in filling in for him. When we asked about which tuna nigiri was which (several were on the plate) they had no clue and were not interested in finding out for us. Food wise, it was okay and I've certainly had better but the lackluster service tainted the entire night.

The place was packed, but thankfully we were seated quite quickly with a 5-10 minute wait. The interior is cozy and welcoming. It's dimly lit with mood lighting on the tables. It felt lively since the tables were packed. We started by ordering the sake and shoyu flights and some fries with wasabi mayo while we explored the rest of their menu. We received the flights quickly. Both flights had 3 flavors and were tasty and fun to try. Each flight comes with a menu describing the flavor profile and how the drinks were made. The flavors of each flight were distinct and matched their descriptions. The fries with wasabi mayo were pretty basic fries. They were well seasoned, had a nice crunch, and the mayo had a subtle wasabi flavor without it being spicy. For our next round we ordered the salmon misoyaki, butternut squash, tofu kushiyaki, and steak kushiyaki. Unfortunately, our server forgot to bring our butternut squash, but we ended up being full with the rest of the food we ordered and just took it off our order. The salmon misoyaki was delicious - perfectly cooked, tender, and well seasoned. The mustard greens on the side added a nice sourness. The tofu kushiyaki was tender and flavorful. The steak kushiyaki was well-seasoned, but more well done than I preferred and a little tough. Next, we ordered the spinach goma ae and umeboshi unigiri. The spinach goma ae was such a pleasant surprise! It's a chilled spinach dish with a tamari/black sesame sauce that was refreshing mid-meal. Really good umami flavor! The umeboshi onigiri had the expected sharp salty/sour flavor that balanced well with the ratio of rice. Ended up dipping the umeboshi onigiri in the goma ae sauce to get every last drop. For dessert we ordered the basque cheesecake and créme brûlée. The cheesecake was just okay. The menu said there was sake and black sesame flavors, but apart from some black sesame dust on the plate we couldn't taste the sake/sesame. The texture was thick and not super smooth. It was a pretty heavy dessert and not very sweet. The créme brûlée was yummy. The custard was smooth and the crunchy caramelized sugar on top was a nice contrast in texture and flavor. The service itself was slow. We were waiting around 15 minutes between orders. Given, it was a busy night. However, we felt a bit forgotten as our server did forget to bring one of our dishes, we had to ask for our dessert menus twice, and we were accidentally served two basque cheesecakes instead of our order of cheesecake and créme brûlée. The staff were friendly, and quickly brought out the correct desserts at the end. I'd recommend ordering more dishes at once so you can enjoy more food in between orders. Would definitely come back again to try the rest of their menu. We wanted to try the Japanese sweet potato but they had sold out that night. The oysters, sashimi, and udon also looked quite good!

Because this is a service industry I left my tip based off her service, it's what happened after I left the restaurant that has me . As I was pulling out of my parking space we have a man approach us and knock on our window, we thought we left something so we rolled our window down. His words were, leaving a 2$ tip on a 70$ bill is disrespectful. He then went on to say more things. I pulled back in my spot and went inside to find a manager. Next to the manager was my waitress. I said do you know why you got 2$ and did she know I was just confronted in the parking lot by another employee. She acted like she had know idea, told me it was the bus boy. I then turned too the manager to tell him I was verbally attacked by one of his employees based off my tip, that should have been very shocking too him, it was not, he said I will look into it. Didn't bother to ask for my phone number or anything. I still cannot believe this even happened. Izumi will never get my business ever again!!
