We came before a movie. The service was not wonderful, but the food was fantastic. First time, I sat at the bar and I ordered the half slab of ribs with grilled veggies. The ribs were overcooked and the meat was dry and chewy. Two thumbs down. The grilled vegetables were cooked just right and were delicious. Ask your server on what's best to order. We got to town around dinner, and I wasn't interested in researching options as we drove about 5.5 hours after I worked most of the day. The restaurant has a great vibe, fun decor and our waitress was fantastic. She was very friendly and helped me decide on my order of chicken fried chicken, with mashed potatoes and gravy, along with the brisket beans. 1st timer here but loved the food and service. Arrived around 12 on a Sunday and it was packed inside. Parking was a little difficult to find but there were neighboring parking lots that are walkable to the restaurant. They have a texting wait list and originally was gonna be about 15 minutes but a table happened to get up so was seated like a minute later. Service was excellent, our waitress Sarah was on top of it. She rounded frequently to ensure if everything was alright, if we needed refills, etc and did it all in a very timely manner. Loved her. The food was great, my friend got a chicken cobb salad. I got the ribeye with the grilled vegetable medley (brussels sprouts,bell peppers, mushroom, zucchini). I don't usually like brussels sprouts but actually enjoyed the way they cooked them :) Calamari was a tad salty to my liking but it was still a delicious appetizer. Always a disappointing experience at this location. Order pickup was for 7:30p, and we didn't receive food until 7:47p. Wasn't a huge deal, because it's a busy night and hot food is always best. But missing multiple items from order including ones we were charged extra for. The same entree was ordered (chicken fried chicken), and the two entrees looked so different, we weren't even sure at first if they were both chicken. One looked like chicken for a sandwich and the other was some super of super long shape. One order was missing a biscuit, and the other with a biscuit was rock hard and tasted like it soaked in fryer oil. The gringo dip had consistency of water. Usually, we love the Edwardsville location and maybe should stick to only frequenting there. The receipt also had everything crossed off as if the bag was checked, but again missing ranch, biscuit, etc. If you submit any feedback to the restaurant, you'll never hear back or have correction. Recognizing my last review was from 2015 and I'm still a frequent visitor of this restaurant, it's time for an update. Still a very solid 4 performance! Today's visit was random as I didn't decide on lunch until I was around the corner. Party of 1, I opted for the bar, which was great because NCAA Madness was on. Traditional House Salad with Ranch to start and then the Chicken Fingers and Fries for the meal.... of course a side of Gringo Dip, BBQ sauce, Honey Mustard and Chipotle Ranch ( I like options). In addition to their food, 54th has great sauces! Chicken Fingers are perfect! Not too much breading, not overly crunchy and fair amount of thickness on the chicken. Fries and Gringo are forever awesome. Brittany who was on staff at the bar was very friendly and accommodating. I probably received my salad in aboit 5 min and the trailed about 10 min later. Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly hostess team, the wait was 10 minutes around noon to be seated. I was seated in an open area where they had hightop tables and a view of TVs playing sporting events. The atmosphere, typical of a bar and grill. The friendly and polite waitress Jenna, swiftly took drink and appetizers orders. I ordered a Coca-cola and Painkiller with an order of Fry Me Some Cheese and boneless wings. The mozzarella sticks were nicely seasoned, stuffed with mozzarella and fried well, the cheese bites were less desirable, with a little too much time in the fryer, leading to the cheese being overcooked and crunchy. The boneless wings had a perfect lightly breaded fry that really highlighted the chicken flavor, an example of how breading on boneless wings should be, the buffalo sauce was also pleasantly spicy and sweet. For entrees I ordered a potato soup and chicken fried chicken with Mac and Cheese for the side, and Jenna was kind enough to humor my request for a side of buns with the chicken. The potato soup was salt forward first with potato highlights coming on the back end. The chicken fried chicken was breaded and slathered in white gravy, which paired well with the side of buns, soaking up the gravy juices; it was tender, juicy, and very flavorful. The mac and cheese was a cavatappi, with a nice sprinkle of baked bread, light, and cheesy. The mashed potatoes were on the salty side, and the biscuit was airy and not to dry. Overall it was a nice lunch and Jenna's attentive and friendly manners made for a great experience. Took a drive to visit 54th Street Grill and Bar.. located in the heart of Wentzville, 54th SG was a nice experience. Restaurant was full from the lunch rush and waited a few minutes for seating. 54th SG's menu is very diverse with several options with appetizers, entrees and cocktails. We ordered the Tater Kegs, large tater tots mixed with cheese and fries and served with warm cheese sauce. Tequila wrappers were fried flautas with chicken, corn, cheese and sauce, both delicious. Wife ordered the chicken avocado grill a sandwich served with avocado spread, bacon, cheese and a brioche bun. Chicken was perfectly cooked and was a great sandwich. I went with the pulled pork cubano and was served with the traditional mustard, swiss and pickles. Bread was fresh and came with hot seasoned fries. Both dishes were well portioned and easily took 1/2 of our meals home. 54th SG has tons of bar and grill fanfare and service was great. Our server checked on us frequently and food was served quickly. Tables took a few minutes to service but lots of people left at the same time. Stopped by 1pm on a Sunday. While there were several open tables, waited about 10 minutes. Feels like an identity crisis as the server poured us water at the table (unnecessary in my opinion). The tortilla soup was not good. Tasted like a bowl of salsa verde and cumin. Our food was ok. We used to love the French dip but mine was cold. And the au jus was lukewarm at best. On the kids menu, I feel like they don't really cater to kids (who can be picky). The hamburger came on a black sesame bun and the BBQ sauce is a vinegar base. The restaurant is clean and nice but the food is all over the place. For 3 adults, 1 child and 3 sodas- it was over $100. I'm happy to spend that on a good, satisfying meal but this wasn't that. read more

I have ordered the filet on DoorDash medium well many times and the the meat is only cooked correctly 20% of the time. Last night my son got home with my filet and it was rare. My son says the order was ready in 12 minutes so that tells me that they didn't even attempt to cook the meat correctly. That is the last time I am ordering from 54th Street Grill. Why have a place to indicate how I want my steak cooked if you aren't going to do that? It is too expensive to not even attempt to get it correct and this has happened many times. I've eaten here many times since my last review. They recently did an upgrade to their interior and the Ambiance at 54SG is really nice. They lots of comfortable booths and a nice bar area if that's your scene. They have good pricing on both food and drink and I think that's why they have a lot of customers. If you come later on the weekend, you might have to wait for a table, unlike a lot of places now that are struggling to bring in the crowds. For the last few times I've eaten here I order the Carne Asada tacos. I have to say this is one of the better Mexican dishes I've had in the area. The meat in the tacos if deliciously flavorful and the tortillas (you get 2) that they come in are soft and crunchy at the same time. The dish comes with beans and rice, which I love to add to the tacos themselves. I've probably had this dish 6 times over the past year and it is consistently made and consistently delicious. Also - the draft beers here are ice cold. If you're looking for a nice atmosphere, good prices, large menu selection and good food, then 54th Street is a place you should check out. read more

me and my family thought this restaurant experience was going to be great. we order and the food took over 30 minutes. everyone had gotten their food before our table and they had gotten there after us. my family ordered the carne asada tacos. the tortilla was cold. it wasn't heated up. the tortilla was breaking, it was raw. it wasn't even a taco anymore, just meat, beans, and rice. the flour tortillas with the fajitas were cold like the corn tortillas. the rice looked like it came from a bag. $30 for a steak, that's wasn't even cooked right, all fatty and barely any good meat, with mashed potatoes with a crab crake is insane. the steak was so small and not even good. $30 is a waste of money. this was probably the worst restaurant experience ever. i wouldn't come to the restaurant ever again read more

The Chesterfield restaurant was extremely busy regardless of dozens of competitors in Chesterfield Valley. With a very lively interior decorated with pop culture relics, it will certainly keep your attention and not be boring. I ordered what I figured to be an obscure item on the menus. It was the low calorie Tom's Sole. A generous piece Parmesan crusted with a white wine butter sauce which came with asparagus and a very good side salad with fruit and candies walnuts. They give you extra large water glasses so you don't have to chase down your server for more. The prices are family friendly. Many of their dressings and soups are house made, NOT institutional out of a 5 gallon can. Large menu and all good. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. You won't leave hungry and you won't break the bank. read more

Both had a Coke, and ordered fried pickles. The pickles were the white spear kind from the store. (Best pickles) and they were fried and had some sort of buffalo seasoning dusted on them, with a side of ranch. It certainly elevated the appetizer. Ordered a prime rib sandwich and got the garlic aïoli, on the side. Ordered it well done and it was incredible! The jus was so flavorful too. Also ordered a triple stack club, with waffle fries and gringo dip. So so yummy and tasted very fresh! It was slightly busy inside, but it wasn't too loud for conversation. It had been a few years since I went to 54th, and it was as good as I remember. The service was good, from the host to the wait staff to the manager (who came by our table to say HI and introduce himself). The atmosphere was as inviting and fun as i remember, and the place was really clean. Food was on point and came out fast. And if you go, order that champagne margarita! Seems like gimiky thing, but it's delish! And a great value. $12, and it packs a punch. They still have a happy hour, which is hard to find these days. We came 10 min too late, but we will be back a little earlier next time. Anyway, try this place out! Today took the wife and kid to the restaurant during Happy Hour time it wasn't so busy. But it was a little noisy considering a few parties. But that I felt like didn't affect our server. We ordered a kids strawberry lemonade and a beer and a champagne reita we knew what we wanted to eat so we put in our order.. the drinks came out with an adult strawberry lemonade. Not a kids . We order the nachos and Tequila wraps on the nachos. We asked for no beans and they came out with beans. We had them sent back. We ordered the kids pasta that took an extremely long time. We arrived at 3:50 pm on a Saturday and the place was mostly empty. The hostess told us about a 10 minute wait. Then more people started coming in and were seated within 10 minutes. We waited, and waited. Someone, we think the manager, apologized to my husband after we had waited 25 minutes and said they would clear the corner booth off for us. He said their larger tables were full. They were not. After 35-40 minutes, they seated us in a booth that had been open the whole time. And it was not the corner booth. I asked about the corner booth that was now clear and was told, that is for a larger group. But they did not seat anyone there. We looked at the menu and no one came over. Finally after 10 more minutes a waitress came over and said how many people. Up 6. She then counted how many people were at our table, mumbled something and walked away. At this point, we just left. We felt like the hostess or staff just made us wait for no reason at all. We had two small children with us and waiting that long was getting hard for them. WE did not feel we would get service anytime soon. I guess if you have a party of 4 or less, they can accommodate you. But if you have more than that, you may want to try another restaurant. For the cheese, I went with the carolina reaper. The burger was large and tasted great! The carolina reaper cheese was quite spicy. Definitely caught me off guard, but I enjoyed it on the burger.
