I ordered something different than I usually get, I got the chicken stir fry, someone else had it and it smelled really good. Food came pretty quickly, and the stir fry was good. Maddox was my server. He was very friendly and attentive. Spacious, dim lit atmosphere. Hostess sat me pretty quickly. Happy Hour was in effect. I tried a Golden Road Mango Cart which was a wheat beer that was actually good and smooth and the Brick River Crisp Apple Cider and for food the buffalo hot wings. The service was so slow, we think the waitress forgot about our table.. we had a group of 6 and one of our party said this had happened the last time he was here so seems to be a pattern. Had a long wait for a table, so we sat at the bar. The bartender took our order for drinks and food when we sat down. We probably received our food quicker than if we were sitting in the dining room. They only offered rail drinks at a discount, so I enjoyed a Vodka Seltzer. I normally don't drink rail (yes, I'm a snob), but when you mix it with seltzer it isn't bad. When I used the Kings Room, I liked that they had the foot pull for exiting. Who wants to touch a bathroom door after washing your hands. Not sure what to me so long to try this place. I've eaten at their sister resturants and those were good as well. For this to be at the end of a strip mall, its pretty big. They also have outdoor seating. We came in and were seated immediately but we came a little late, like 2 hours before closing. Our server was Ashley and she was hear delightful. The best personality you could get with a server. So friendly and attentive. Always had a smile on her face. The menu is nice and they have so many good options. I met up with a friend for happy hour and really enjoyed my time here. My friend was already sitting down when I got here but as soon as I sat down, we were immediately greeted and given waters. I had been here one other time but was unaware they had hh until today. The specials are pretty good with a lot of beer, wells, and wine $2-3 off and some of the apps being heavily discounted. We split an order of pretzel sticks and Brussel sprouts, while he got a beer and I got a pearl grape with sprite. The drinks came out rather quickly and the food quickly matched. The sprouts were a pleasant surprise as they actually came out crispy (despite them not looking crispy on the website) and we were given 4 pretzel sticks instead of two. The sprouts were delicious and were nestled with balsamic and Parmesan, while the pretzels had a nice crisp and were accompanied with a queso and another dipping sauce. I was a bit surprised the sprouts came with an aioli because it's not mentioned on the menu. My friend ate majority of the sprouts while I picked around the pieces that didn't have aioli. We decided to get another round but I went with the domain chandon sparkling Rosè, while my friend went with another beer. Still feeling a bit hungry, I got a side order of their pub chips. Three kings has been around in this spot for years, but this was my first time here. They are located at the end of a shopping center. While they have several steps right in front, about 2 businesses down there is a ramp to enter. Plenty of parking. It certainly feels like a pub with the low lighting, dark woods and decor. The bathrooms are labeled "kings" and "queens." If you use the women's bathroom, you will get a giggle from the artwork on the wall. Our server, Ian, was courteous, efficient and attentive. I appreciated his recommendation on the sweet potato fries because they were quite good. I ordered the garlic bomb burger, subbing it with an Impossible patty. There's also a black bean option. The menu has a wonderful selection of appetizers, a few salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, burgers and some entrees. I was with a party of 8 and everyone was happy with their food. The place was only about 1/4 filled with people, yet it took about 5 minutes before a server came over and took our order. Strike 1. We ordered the fried pickles and a side salad as appetizers along with our drinks. We then asked about the status of our appetizers and she said they should be out soon. It was large with cold pieces of chopped up Gyro meat. I tried a bite. It was meh. I ordered the Bangers and Mash. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant potatoes and the onion gravy was overly sweet. The sausages seemed to have been boiled as there was no char at all on them. Overall I'd give this dish a 2/5 rating. Strike 3. We like to come to Three Kings because it's super close, convenient, and they have a wide arrange of options. We came Sunday for lunch and we're promptly seated under the covered patio. The seat was a little dirty with crumbs, and there was a leak coming from (what I'm assuming) up top from the storm from the previous night. We made it work. Our server was amazing! I think he name is Ellie. She was so personable, attentive, and super kind. She was working a lot of tables at once and truly did it so well. Serving can be stressful so we were thankful for her! To eat I got the California turkey club with a side salad. The sandwich was super good! The turkey was cut super thin which was delicious, and it was served on sourdough bread. I really liked the pepper Jack cheese. The avocado was a bit overly ripe, but the overall sandwich was pretty delicious. I wish I would have read more about the side salad- it was pretty simple. Not bad, I think I just assumed more would be included on it. Just my personal preference, but I think I'd go with the Caesar next time. However- their ranch is SUPER good. I tasted amazing and is the perfect consistency. A lot of people were trying their smash burgers around us, so I think I'll go down that route next time. I've been here several times over the last few years. My son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughters live near here as does my best friend, so it's a good place to meet my friend for dinner, or for our family to grab a bite after one of my granddaughters' choir or band performances. We always feel taken care of by the friendly staff, and the menu is interesting and unique. I highly recommend trying the Captain Crunch Shrimp. It's unexpected and surprisingly tasty. I've never tasted anything quite like it. The Lobster Bisque is also delicious, and I love their California Turkey Club. It has become my go-to. The decor is really cute, and they have a nice patio. We had our mid-winter Model T Ford lunch here. Probably 25-30 folks showed up. They have an area that was able to accommodate us all, and we had great service, even though we were a larger party. The serviced was spot on, drinks came out quickly and the food orders followed close behind. So many different dishes were served and it seemed as though everyone enjoyed the food. They did not seem to mind we sat around for a couple of hours swapping our stories. Another nice thing was they let us have separate checks, which makes for a much easier time for our group. Ok, look...*breathes* It's not bad. There was nothing bad about the meal, per se. (like how I used that? "per se"? Fancy, right?) There were some unpleasant things that prohibits this review from being a five stars. First let's talk about the star of the show. The calamari for an appetizer was totally the way to go! I'm no stranger to fried squid appendages and I've had everything from rubber to the breading just falling off all over the place. I was 100% pleasantly surprised at how good this calamari was. It is well worth a try, especially if you've never had calamari before. This is the perfect introduction to it. For a main course I had the Kings Signature Smash burger. It was alright. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great, it was just alright. To me it wasn't worth $14. You can get this burger at pretty much any diner for $3.39. The two patties were a little flavourless. The fries I order, ordered crispy, came out as they should have. Nothing that I told my mother about on my way home afterwards. That's about it for the "meh" part of my review. The negative? The service. We waited for eeeeeeeeverything. We waited to order drinks, to get drinks, we waiting to order the calamari......we waited.......we waited.......we waited for it to come out....meanwhile our glasses made it to empty..... The check, after we were done eating, must have been a good 15 minutes. Here's the weird thing: Dolores did not stop moving. I have NO idea what she was doing but she was rushing by every so often while the other waitstaff were taking orders, filling them, bringing refills.. But Dolores? =========PEW! That way! PEW! Stopped off here while in town. I get the appeal of this place. It's lively with fun music piped in - a lot of energy. Cool old vintage boards line the walls. Several TVs in the bar area - all with sports on - so our kind of spot. We really wanted to like this place. But - we sat at the bar and while the bartenders were originally attentive - after our first drink we couldn't get a second round. Then they disappeared for 15 minutes. There are currently seven customers sitting here at the bar that sits a total of at least 12 and six of us have no drinks and haven't since I started complaining to Tom about it 15 minutes ago. Meanwhile, the wait staff piles up dirty glasses under the taps which is almost turned into a sad game of Jenga at this point in time. I am not sure on the food. When it came time to order drinks I loved that they had mimosas available. They were really good, fresh and also potent. Though the breakfast menu was plentiful and had good options I hadn't been to a sports bar and while and glanced at the menu and immediately went with the potato skins and fries. Yes, I love potatoes. To my surprise when they came out they was potato skins with a twist. They were loaded with spinach and artichoke dip and so so new to me. Long story short they were amazing. We tried the following: Pogue Mahone burger (egg, bacon, onions, mushrooms, cheese, on pretzel bun) with sweet potato fries. My hubby highly enjoyed this. BBQ Pulled pork sliders with onions and melted cheese. Great flavor and texture 3 Kings fish and chips. This was my favorite entree because the cod was super tender and crispy. The Hill Salad. This was also one of my favorite things I ordered. It includes fresh crunchy romaine, tomatoes, olives, red peppers, prosciutto, and parmesan. Chopped romaine, grape tomatoes, green olives, roasted red peppers, shaved red onions, Volpi prosciutto and grated parmesan tossed with spicy Italian vinaigrette Seafood stew with sausage, shrimp, squid, salmon, and other seafood. It was packed with flavor and I found it quite spicy. For my toddler we ordered the mac and cheese and chicken tenders from the kids' menu.
