This place seems to exist for no other reason than to run up an expense account. You'd never bring your child here to eat a $27 hamburger that he probably wouldn't even like. You'd hardly know that it exists. It's weirdly anonymous in both its physical presence and its overall branding. You could drive by it for years and not know that it's there. I work nearby, and I was invited to tag along with a group of people from my job. I hardly know any of them, and we don't really work together. They may not have been able to put together a group of eight without inviting me. Hardly anyone actually shows up for work. I was more than happy to take advantage of the opportunity, and I got a chance to try a little bit of everything. Several appetizers were ordered, and people were putting on a front like they don't eat constantly, which, let's be honest, they'd have to. That just meant more for me. The deep fried deviled eggs were a revelation and obviously not anything I'd so much as imagine, let alone order. They're literally deviled eggs that have been breaded and deep fried and then served on a bed of deviled-egg filling, with bacon and raw jalapeno slices as garnish. They're brilliant, in a Billy Tuttle sort of way. If anyone knew who that was, they could probably license his name and likeness and do more business than have been. It's that kind of restaurant. Everything is unnecessarily large, like at the Cheesecake Factory. An appetizer called Duck Wings is apparently just that. Who even knew that ducks had wings? They're like weirdly large chicken wings, but not as good, but... uh, still pretty good. The pretzel sticks and the mozzarella sticks were just whatever. The mozzarella sticks are roughly the size of, uh, we're not gonna go there. But you don't get as many of them. Depending on the size of your party, you might have to split them in two. Same goes with the pretzels. If they were to give you more and just charge more than they're already charging, someone would probably assault the waitress on GP. This place carries a Farmhouse Burger, like the aforementioned Cheesecake Factory, so I was obligated to get one, morally, and for the sake of citizen food journalism. It's like a regular burger, but with bacon and an egg on it. It's not any of that smash burger BS. A smash burger is cool because it has crisp edges, but here's a little secret: you can also cook a much larger burger until it's crisp. And if it's thick enough (no Diddy), it might still be a little bit rare on the inside. Bonus! This burger was honestly much better than it had any right to be, given the overall vibe of this establishment, which seemed kinda dirty and run down. It reminded me of the burgers I used get at Culpeppers back before most attractive girls these days were even born. If they offered one with a compound cream cheese on it (just nod along like you have any what I'm talking about), I might have cried in front of my coworkers, and then I would have had to quit. Overall, I was both surprised and delighted by this place. I can't tell you that I'd be back, even if someone else was paying, but my one visit wasn't half bad. read more

I didn't expect it to be extremely dark when I first walked inside with my family. Not too crowded and it isn't that noisy. We were seated right away when we first walked in and was introduced by the lovely server, Brittney. She took our order right away , accommodating to our needs, and present. Prior to today, I had only been here one other time and it was years ago. My friend suggested we go here for lunch, so we made the trip out there and considering it was Black Friday, it was more crowded than we thought. When we walked in, there wasn't anyone at what we thought was the hostess stand, and because of that we decided to seat ourselves. The first booth we chose had something wrong with the seat so we moved. Once they saw us get up, a server came, introduced herself and gave us menus. We were both pretty hungry, so we chose the firecracker shrimp as an appetizer, I got the blackened salmon and he got the lobster blt. For drinks, I went with the sparkling sangria and he got a beer. Despite it being busy, we got our drinks and food in a good amount of time. The firecracker shrimp was delicious and I'm glad it had a nice balance of being "spicy" and sweet. I'm unsure of what the sauce was mixed with but it was good! The sangria hit the spot and was the perfect drink for the day. I loved the Prosecco and everything else it was mixed with. The blackened salmon and Brussel sprouts truly hit the spot. I loved that it came with those items in addition to rice, as it's something I would have ordered separately. The salmon was cooked as I requested (more than medium) and the Brussel sprouts had the perfect char. While everything was great as is, I was surprised there wasn't any sauce to cover the rice. We hadn't been to Brick House for years because the service we had the last few times we went was absolute terrible. We decided to give it a try. I wish we hadn't. The physical place is getting pretty shabby. They definitely need to do some maintenance work and fix it up a little bit. And someone needs to tend to the women's restroom. The floor was really wet in a lot of places and there was trash all over the floor. It was gross. We had better service than we had in the past, but it still wasn't great. I counted four different servers in our area. I think they all had tables all over the restaurant so they had a lot of space to cover and weren't in our area very frequently. My husband ordered the beer battered fish and chips. The serving was huge! He said it tasted okay but there was a lot of breading in there - more than we've ever seen on fish before. He ended up pulling some of it off. I ordered the Homerun App. It's a plate of appetizers. It came with tavern wings, house baked soft pretzels, mozzarella bricks (they were sticks), buffalo chicken meatballs and that was served with white cheese sauce, spicy marinara and bleu cheese. It was not good. The wings weren't fully cooked so I didn't eat those. The pretzels were okay but should have been warmer. The mozzarella sticks were over cooked. The chicken meatballs were mush in breading. The cheese sauce was barely warm. The spicy marinara wasn't spicy and didn't have much flavor. We were there during happy hour and the happy hour menu had many options to choose from, we chose an appetizer of wings and they were finger licking good, they were so good I almost ordered more, but I knew I had to wait on my main course of chicken and waffles, I can honestly say out of all of the restaurants that I have had chicken and waffles at these were hands down the best, the price for my entree was $19.00 i didn't consider it back but I would have paid more it was just that good and a very nice sized portion. This is a 3.4 for me. For our main meals we ordered Thai salad, chopped salad, seasonal menu bowl, meat flatbread, and jambalaya. We also had the fried deviled eggs. So surprisingly good. How a boiled egg white can be breaded and fried is beyond me. But it is the egg yolk topping that carries that dish. So well seasoned. 10/10 for me. The individual really enjoyed the jambalaya and it looked like something I've been served in New Orleans but I didn't taste it to confirm. That was the surprise/highlight of the main items. The flatbread pizza was as expected. Could have been from anywhere including Applebee's and home. Although the salad/bowl eaters enjoyed the salads everyone thought the chicken laid on top was dry. This was especially problematic for me since the bowl initially came with just sauce drizzle on the meat and all other components dry as a bone, especially the rice which was hard. I think the bowl is just a test item on the menu and they have not put much thought into it. But....the issue I had when I was here recently was the staff and their bathrooms. I have no idea what was going on in the kitchen but there were few times where we heard yelling. Now....dont get me wrong I've worked in a lot of kitchens and as a line cooked I've been yelled at by the chef....however if you're going to yell make sure the kitchen isn't so close to the bar or where folks are sitting near by. Stopped for a late night bite after a day out and had a great time! Started with the Homerun App which had a little of everything to try. But the star of the show was the Sweet Brick's Delight! What is not to like about fried Twinkled to begin with, but when you add ice cream and whipped cream...the results are phenomenal! Service was prompt and friendly throughout the meal, and the whole place was a fun atmosphere with plenty of TVs with a variety of games on so you could keep up with the scores you wanted to see. It was the middle booth just so everyone knows. So we had to eat finger foods since we were below table. I just got the chicken fingers. They came out piping hot and delicious. I was there at lunch, instead of later in the evening on my previous visits. I'm not sure if this visit could have been improved on. We split the tavern wings, meat, lovers flatbread, and the crispy brussels sprouts appetizer. All were hot, delicious, and promptly served by friendly attentive staff. We ate it anyway because I had a light lunch remember very hungry. The service was kind but the food is what did it for me. I am loving cilantro rice like most people but with Salmon it was the perfect combination. It was so savory I will definitely return. My other half had hot wings which were also delicious and saucy -how hot wings should be. I didn't enjoy the homemade chips and they came with the wings and we couldn't substitute. This was my first time at this restaurant and the brunch is now my favorite!! I love the options on the brunch board! It was easily enough for 3 people to eat and be full! The price of $45 for this huge board was more than fair! The mimosa flight was really good as well! Most flights come with 3 options and theirs came with 4!! To top it off, our waitress Helena was so attentive, prompt and pleasant! I value customer service just as high as the food and her service has made me push this place up my list of go-to's for brunch from now on!! The ambiance was nice.
