Food was good. The food is always good when we come for a meal. The issue I see is being understaffed. Tables were dirty and only one girl taking orders and running orders out to tables. We asked for salsa on the side just in case it was too spicy and it wasn't communicated to the kitchen staff. Finally decided to give this place a try. Not real busy on a Thursday night. Walk up ordering, they bring it out to you. Lots of to-go orders. Clean inside. Outside was a bit dirty. The Quesataco (not the red) was the crispiest they have to offer, which was not what we were looking for. Beans were good. Rice was tasty but cold. If you like soft tacos, you might give it a try. Visited 559 Tacos this past Sunday and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. We stood there for quite a while and were never acknowledged at all. The staff was focused on talking to their usual customers, and we just kept waiting with no greeting, no "we'll be right with you," nothing. After giving it some time, we ended up leaving and eating somewhere else. I was really looking forward to trying this place, but the lack of basic customer service made it hard to even place an order. Hopefully they improve how they handle new customers, because first impressions matter. read more

Yeah this place is not my favorite... Let's start with the positives, the one positive... The quesatacos were good! I did 1 chicken and 2 asada. Very dry but the salsa and lime helped. And now the negatives, pretty much everything else... First of all, flies...everywhere...inside & outside. The only way to avoid is it being right next to a fan outside. The whole set up is strange - I'm confused why they make it seem like the cocktail lounge and taco shop are separate, they're in the same small space... You have to stand in line for food and then stand by the again for drinks, a lot of waiting and for what if you're in the same area? Don't waste your time on the drinks, I had a strawberry margarita that didn't even have a hint of tequila. The overall vibe is just not it. I feel like they threw it together to try to make it "aesthetic" but really it looks like they just tried to make it work. My husband and I are Mexican food connoisseurs, and on our way home from a road trip we decided to take a chance on 559 Taqueria because the reviews were mixed.. First and foremost, we were greeted by a wonderful server named Marzena, who was super friendly. My husband and I both ordered a chili relleno and two chicken enchiladas which came with rice and beans. We were eagerly excited to dig in. Our excitement soon disappeared after we both took a bite of our rice, which was both dry and cold. We both looked at each other and thought "oh no"!! The beans were lukewarm. Come on now, It shouldn't be that hard to mess up on rice and beans. The chicken enchiladas had some sort of weird lime taste to them and a smokiness that was unfamiliar to us. There was hardly any meat in the enchiladas,... also lukewarm. The chili relleno was a greasy overcooked mess and was full of a greasy blob of cheese. Overall, the whole plate was swimming in sauces and barely edible. It's not very often that we have bad Mexican food, but honestly, this place left us leaving with upset stomachs. The best part about the whole meal was the wonderful waitress who was top notch. We wanted to give a good recommendation so badly, but the only good thing about 559 Taqueria was our waitress. The restaurant had clearly been remodeled and looked amazing inside--the bar, the patio, and the entire vibe were on point. However, the layout was confusing. You enter through the patio, and to get to the bathrooms, you have to walk behind the counter and almost into the back kitchen, which felt odd. When we walked in, there was no greeting or guidance, which made the experience confusing, especially since it was our first visit. We weren't sure if we should wait to be seated or order at the counter, so we ended up just figuring it out ourselves. It turns out you order at the counter, get a number, and then find a seat, but it would've been nice to know that up front. When the food came out, it was disappointingly cold. I'm not one to usually complain about temperature, but this was just unappetizing. I finished my meal, but it really didn't live up to expectations, and I didn't enjoy it. I had passed by many times and wanted to see if the food was good , from the moment I walked in I noticed the place was unorganized and very messy by the grill, not looking very clean at all and unorganized, but I didn't want to be rude and turn around and walk out by the looks of the place so I was in a pinch and I just ordered. I ordered two Carne Asada tacos and a Carne Asada the burrito to go. I was told that the salsa bar was outside. I went outside and noticed that it was out there and not covered and unattended with a side gate open where either insects or any type of outdoor animal could have access to it, I was handed my order outside, and I noticed after taking one bite that the corn tortillas were raw and hard at the same time if that makes sense and had a weird taste to them , the meat was way too salty like they dumped a bunch of seasoning all over the meat. The salsa was actually not too bad. I went back to my hotel to try the burrito and the tortilla was not fully cooked. The rice in the burrito was kind of mushy and it was supposed to be Carne Asada, but almost tasted like Carnitas so I'm not sure what was actually in the burrito. It was not very good. I would honesty probably never!go back to this place again definitely not worth $24 for a burrito and a couple salty tacos.worst 4$ taco Iv ever had . I am really impressed with the updates the restaurant has made they added a really cool trendy bar along with the ambiance of a hot night in Jalisco Mexico what's great about this place is the tacos are excellent! I love the fact that you can choose to eat inside or outside. With the weather being over 100° in Fresno my friend celebrated her birthday inside amongst many shots of tequila. They had a really excellent list of margaritas to pick from I chose the Mia Bonita which is a pomegranate drink. It was nice and refreshing. They do offer table service if you are dining in. The service was okay but you need to check your ticket as I was overcharged for menu items. Once I brought it up they quickly fixed the air. We thought we'd try it again since it had been awhile... we loved sitting out on the patio and it looked like they may be working on adding misters for the Clovis summer heat. The tacos and the salsas were awesome! However, the margaritas, not so much. We decided to try the house margarita because we feel like if you can't make a basic one, why try the others.
