This a great neighborhood cleaners. I've been bringing my dry cleaning here since moving to the neighborhood and have no complaints with their service, quality, or speed. Plus, their customer service is great and always very friendly! They also deliver for free to some local buildings (including mine next door) and consistently succeed at removing tough stains. With so many other options within 2 blocks of me, I will not be coming back here again. Their prices are high. Their service is mediocre. Their problem solving skills leave something to be desired. I had a custom embroidered Land's End shopping bag (pinky in the air) which I needed cleaned. They charged me $17 for "dry cleaning," which I thought was outrageous, but hey it's NYC. They held the bag hostage for 2 weeks (instead of 2 days as promised on my receipt). After my repeated attempts to retrieve my property, I almost gave up on it. Instead of just apologizing about ruining my bag, they proceeded to defend themselves and state that you should not WASH this bag.....DUH.....that's why I paid you $17 to DRY CLEAN it. Anyway, no refund, no true apology, and my response...this rant and a promise to never go back. I felt as if I was dragged out of a UNITED flight screaming and kicking. BOYCOTT I TELL YOU, BOYCOTT! Although they finally admitted to washing the bag, there was no resolution offered, just here's your bag, tough luck kid. read more

The people here are super nice and really fast. They always say hi to me, they know who I am so pick-up and drop-off are easy. And they can do my dry cleaning in a day if I need them to. I have nothing clever or witty to say because Expert Cleaners is just a genuine good experience. My favorite part is the guy sewing things in the window. My other favorite part is that they haven't lost a shirt or put a gigantic purple stain on my really expensive white linen pants like my previous (and only other) two dry cleaners have. read more

I had a bridesmades dress pressed at the bridal shop prior to my friend's big day. I had a problem at Expert Cleaners that required involvement by the owner, Michelle. It was the first issue I've had with them and they've been doing my laundry (and doing it well) for several years. Michelle was great to work with. She has exceptionally high standards, and is very professional and responsive. In the end, we were able to come to an agreement. It is comforting to know that my clothes are in good hands, and if something does go wrong (I mean, occasionally things can happen anywhere) , the owner takes it very seriously and handles it fairly. read more

They charged me more than what my friend who uses them told they were charging him for the individual pieces of clothing. The shirts were just pressed the same way I would have done it at home with my iron. No starch, no stain removed. I will try different cleaners next time. And BTW it's the same price for delivery the next day or 5 days later. read more

I will never use these cleaners ever again. They have delivered other peoples laundry to us by mistake, lost articles of clothing and not take any responsibility for it, hold on to dry cleaning for weeks at a time and never say a word, not delivery items, schedule apps for pickup and delivery and not show up. The woman who now works there doesn't have a clue and has made too many mistakes. And to top things off, they are rude to customers. There are too many other options in nyc for laundry and dry cleaning that will appreciate your business. Go elsewhere! read more

I've been going here for 3 years. I lived in the UES for a majority of my life. They pick up/drop off dry cleaning pretty much immediately after you call them and take credit cards. Just this week, I called for my dry cleaning to be dropped off. Apparently, they had items they forgot to give me from November with no apologies that I'm pretty sure they charged me for already. The most recent drop-off I told them I wanted specific sweaters I bought from goodwill to be hang and dry and not dry cleaned and the rest dry cleaned. When I got the dry cleaning delivered, they charged me for dry cleaning for the whole bunch. When I told them, I separated the bags for dry cleaning and for hang and dry, they told me I was lying and the guy was never told anything and they just asked him. Kind of ridiculous to lie about that and their attitude about me lying and them making this up made no sense. They seriously cannot deal with any type of disputes, minor and all. Also, there are definitely times they would charge me rush dry cleaning when I did not specifically request that. I wouldn't trust them with my clothes ever again. Used them for wash and fold - I have a few satin blouses/pants that came back to me extremely wrinkled as if they'd been balled up wet. I've honestly never seen them this wrinkled for the entire time I've owned them, and it took 30 minutes and 3 refills of my steamer to get one pair of pants wearable. Overall, they got the job done, and were nice people, I just won't be returning especially with Elegance around the corner. I've been bringing my laundry here for 2 years. Always ask to have it separated and have never been charged extra. If my laundry is 14 pounds I pay $14., etc. Today I brought in my laundry and business as usual, but they want to charge me TWENTY DOLLARS for an $11 weight. HUH? These two women couldn't even explain themselves even though I explained I have NEVER paid double for separate wash. I have paid an extra $2.00 at the place I used to go which I told them. They have lost some things but didn't seem to care. Ultimately they lost a customer and I went around the corner to 78/york and found the cutest little place and the sweetest woman named Mary who charged me $3 extra. Also the woman at Expert said F**k You to me. So that ain't ever good for business. These women are new owners and I see many reviews are 1 star since they took over. Coincidence? read more

Incredible service - reasonably priced, quick turn around time and the clothes looked great. I had a badly stained suit and they were able to make it look new again. The people that work there are very friendly and a pleasure to do business with. Although there are dry cleaners closer to my house, I am more than happy to walk the extra distance to go here. read more

Beware ! Ive been going to Expert for well over a year and everything was just fine...until recently. I had never had a problem but my last experience was awful. One item i got back was ripped at the seam with no note or call. When i questioned them, they said i had brought it in that way. Highly unlikely but possible.....until i noticed that a second item was badly damaged. Apparently during pressing they broke every snap on my jacket and melted a piece of the fabric....and i'm 100% certain that i didnt bring it in that way. My guess is that the place has either been sold or is under new management. read more

initially had a good experience, with prompt laundry service at a reasonable price. however, recently pressed shirts have not been done when promised, shirts have been stained (the owner lied and said I gave her a blatantly stained shirt, when in fact there would have been no way I would have gone to work with such a stained shirt; the owner also refused to reimburse me for the damages), and the owner performed faulty alteration on my pants, but then denied ever making alteration to my pants in the past.
