I generally had a good experience at first with this dry cleaner, but one time they were late with my order. When it finally did arrive, I ended up finding out that one very expensive shirt was missing. The problem is I didn't realize this until some time later. Even though I can't 100% prove that they never delivered it to my building, the reason for my 1 star negative review is their reaction to my request for help finding it. They were defensive and automatically denied any responsibility without bothering to look or do an extensive search. I came back and asked them to double check the store or whether it was delivered somewhere else by mistake, and get back to me. They never did and no one even bothered to contact me to say anything. DO NOT GO THERE. THEY ARE NOT OBEYING CLEANING PROTOCOL, AND ARE DISRESPECTFUL. We did our wash and fold laundry there, but we found some other's sock !!! in our small, zipped sorting bag (which we put inside the large laundry bad with our delicates in it). They promised every household's laundry will be handled separately. But obviously, that is NOT true!!! They also claimed that this thing could happen during ANY STAGE of the cleaning and drying process. When we talked to their management and asked for the explanation, the male manager was super defensive and disrespectful. He refused to give us refund, and even implied that we should be grateful as we've an extra sock!!! That's ridiculous! read more

I have to give this place a personal thank you , I brought 3 pair of pants to get alterations on , and I really needed one of them for the next day , this weekend is so busy for them and even though it was a hardship, they made it happen . All of the services I've had them provide in the past turned out great. My family has been using Green City for years for repairs, alterations and their laundry delivery service. The only time we had an item returned to us damaged was a delicate that we accidentally put in the wash-and-fold service bag for delivery. Even though it was our fault, the manager was very kind and understanding. They repaired the damage and delivered it back to us, free of charge. Good customer service and good wash and press. My shirts have come out clean and not wrinkled. They took back a shirt that was still stained to try again without a fee. They have building delivery if you live in a doorman building. I will definitely go back. Very convenient for the area and good quality. read more

I was a little worried but my clothes were returned just fine what impressed me was the day I had the lining to my mink jacket fixed. The tailor did a better job then the furrier. They charged me $6.50 for a stupid polo shirt, which isn't worth $6.50, and $8.25 for a t-shirt that got mixed up in the dry cleaning bag. Basic laundry service is $2.75 (which is reasonable for NYC), but they also charge extra fees for pressing. Isn't pressing the clothes the whole reason for even paying in the first place? I highly recommend this cleaner. There are so many "organic" and "natural" claims out there when it comes to dry cleaning, but with the slightest investigation most of them ring hollow. The guy at Green City answered all my questions and explained how their methods are non-toxic (they use a CO2 process). I've been using them for almost two years and they deliver truly green cleaning for no more than other NYC cleaners. The only reason they don't get five stars is that they seem to be slightly more rough on shirt buttons than other cleaners I have gone to, but being less toxic makes up for it.
